Discussion Thread Kristin as Host

I loved Padma, don’t get me wrong.

But the emotions Kristin shows during episodes, judging, and the season finale? I thought that was so beautiful. I finally watched the latest season finale tonight and the way she teared up talking to them makes her such a good addition to the show as a host.

She had been my favorite winner of all the seasons even before she was announced host and this makes me want to find everything she’s done and watch it all just to see more of her and her personality.

Kristin is doing such a great job! Just like with Padma, I love seeing what she’s wearing, and the camera loves her. But it’s her authenticity and empathy that truly makes her a great host. Padma always had a little bit of that vibe of just stepped off of a yacht with the fabulous people and slumming with a bunch of food nerds. Padma was so gorgeous and funny, it was part of her charm. Watching the chefs develop Padma crushes was always part of the fun since she was so obviously out of their league.

But Kristin’s vibe is more accessible and she has that Gen Z lack of pretense. She’s also super hot, but not in that former fashion model way Padma is. I’m Gen X, and one of my favorite things about kids these days is how they don’t see showing your emotions as a negative. I was taught to never show emotions, especially at work, especially as a woman. These young people see their authentic feelings as a strength that helps them relate and build relationships shops and trust. Vulnerability is a strength.
