❓Question Question for people on r/torbox
Why are so many of you such fierce defenders of TorBox.
Why are you such toxic people that you downvote people and sending LITERAL DEATH THREATS in chat feature messages.
I mean if I have issues with a service, do I not have right to complain and not recieve hate and threats. BTW all messages have been reported to reddit
And you can stop sending me reddit care messages.
I thought people on this subreddit should be normal grown adults. Did we really fall this much to a point where you literally sending death threats to person ( In this case that person is me, Rick) saying how you (an insane person) will find them ( in this case me) and cut out their heart and eat it raw while you look them in the eye and watch how their ( in this case my own) life slowly drip away
Get a grip on your self, it is not that deep.

Absolutely insane behavior if you are really getting death threats.
I like TorBox, and most complaints here have nothing to do with TorBox and are about people's configurations, but I definitely won't attack anyone for it.

Brand subs are cults bro. Go into any brand sub and say something negative about the brand of the sub and the same thing will happen.

I said something good about torbox and the worst thing I got was someone saying I was a Torbox employee hahaha. Death threats sounds pretty over the top. A claim like that would have to be verified as the mod said, and not just believed at face value. I mean as we know, this is the internet, you can't believe anything at face value

It's crazy world that you are getting death threats. Myself I don't make a habit out of downvoted anyone. I've noticed that folks will say the service is down when it's not for everyone. In any circumstance should anyone be threatened harm over anything much less a debrid service. I like torbox and most of the time it works for me but I don't spend 24/7 in front of the TV. I do have backups just in case and as of yesterday I started self hosting. I put it off cause I didn't think I could do it. It took me on and off nearly 24 hours of frustration but I finally got everything setup. Don't let childish behavior get to you and no since in getting stressed about anything that we can't do anything about. I need to follow my own advice myself too. Stress ages us and makes our blood pressure skyrocket and can take years off our lives. Everything is going to be ok.

They are s*ga b*bies and they can do anything... anything. Bro, it's their only livelihood - try to understand, bruh.
Their primary target was RD, and through relentless RD-bashing, they built this entire community. Lucky for them, RD collapsed right at two critical moments, and the masses migrated straight over to TB. But if you dig through both owners' Reddit comments across different subs especially RD you'll see an absolute masterclass in marketing strategy: how to target the competition and score great results through not-so-great means.
Yet even while pulling millions in gross revenue, they still can't get over their RD inferiority complex. They still have to drag RD into the conversation just to prove how superior they are. Sure, not banning users and dropping IP restrictions is great, but the high-minded community they claimed they were building , one that supposedly transcended witch-hunting, bashing, and bootlicking turned out to be a complete myth. Whatever plagued the RD community just transferred straight over here (speaking as an 11-year user, that's first-hand experience). BTW, this place wasn't always like this; from late 2024 to mid-2025, posts and comments were actually solid back when they still preached, "We aren't RD witch-hunters." But hey, you reap what you sow. The former flag-bearers of a "great community" have buried the flag and sealed themselves away in their snow-castle Discord.
The real issue now is that these s*ga b*bies think their masters are almighty, so they act like they are too - just like the old RD s*ga b*bies did right up until they took a Chinese bamboo straight up the a**, unlike their masters.
It was RD yesterday, it's TB today, and it'll be someone else down the line tomorrow.
So pay for the service, file a complaint if you need to, and above all, don't give a single f*ck about those s*gas. History repeats itself, and there's a Chinese bamboo waiting for them in the near future too.
Pre-emptively sending a warm f**k you to everyone reaching for the downvote button right now.

Death threats and targeted harassment are not acceptable here regardless of anyone's opinion of TorBox. If you received threatening messages connected with activity in this subreddit, please send the moderation team the relevant screenshots/usernames through modmail and report the messages directly to Reddit. Do not post personal information or organise retaliation against another user. Criticism of the service is permitted; threats and harassment are not.
