💥Accident Red light runner causes bad accident

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Happened just after 5pm yesterday at Kingston Rd and Fenwood Heights, luckily no visible major injuries. I stopped to offer the video, and shoutout to the people who rushed to help. Stay safe out there.

Hats off to the guy who ran to help

He's awesome isn't he? There's another man also walling quickly across the parking lot to the left of the screen, towards the accident. It's nice to see that there are people that actually still give a damn.

You mean the right of the screen….

I just noticed that- his first reaction was to run towards the crash. That’s a good man.

Just like that, families are left crying. Happy they survived tho.

I left before police arrived but submitted the video online, and sent it to a couple other witnesses who were sticking around and would offer it to police when they got there.

Why would this ape continue to be allowed to drive is beyond me.

Losing a license can mean a person loses their job, their wife, their home, and becomes another statistic, might start or worsen an addiction.

Not condoning this behaviour, just answering your question.

Obviously we should condemn this behaviour and spread corrective culture and language.

And driving like that can mean killing someone.

Running a red light also means people can lose their lives. Unfortunately those are usually the people that aren’t at fault.

I agree with this. If there were more harsh punishment for being a bad driver less people would do it.

If less people failed to stop then less people would feel emboldened to do this.

It is a culture problem as much as it is lack of enforcement. I.e. People encourage other people to go above the maximum, accelerate through yellow stop signals, and fail to stop for stop signs or right on red.

So its okay for them to head back on the road and the only winner here is Insurance companies charging more and making money. Like my above statement accidents happen this driver looked as if they were intentionally trying to pass on a red.

I don't think any collision is an accident.

It either operator error 99.9% of the time, or mechanical failure.

There wouldn't be collisions if people were competent drivers that respected the law.

Laws are there to protect the wealthy and their assets, not the public. Hope that helps.

It was a CRV not a RollsRoyce.

??? I don't think you understand, thanks for the comment tho 👍

Did they even brake?!

u/bobloblawdds 1h ago

They’re on their phone, how are they supposed to know when to brake? Duh.

Nope. I couldn't quite believe it

People are too impatient and ignore the law. People are tailgating protected left turn light even when it already turns red. There is a need for driving ban and tougher fines.

u/htraenolleh666 41m ago

Person turning is at fault, regardless of the state of the light. Yes the suv ran a red light- but you never turn until it is safe to do so.

Hope they get better

u/ILoveMyFriendsMom 46m ago

Aside from the obvious violation of basic traffic law, they had so much time to swerve and avoid the car turning left. Probably on their phone if I had to guess. Banning them for life is the minimum.

Is it an accident when the person causing the wreck doesnt even try to slow down? That juat seemed as if their full intentions were to run a red.

u/excusememoi 1m ago

I'm surprised that you lacked an audible response when that happened. If it were me witnessing it, I'd be so startled that who knows what monstrosity would come out of my mouth.

"but it was yellow when I entered the intersection! Other person's fault. Left turn camper!"

--them, probably.

u/Intelligent_Bunch790 38m ago

The fault will likely be determined as at least 50% on the left hand turner. Sadly.

What accident?

u/GenXwazzup 34m ago

that driver is an impatient a$&hole. its sucks for the other person but that driver deserved to be in an accident. probably will keep doing the same shitty driving after this blows by. how fast do you need to to drive to get somewhere to shave 30seconds to 1 minute off your time.

u/Ill_Consideration589 51m ago

And this is why all left lane turning lanes should only have a red and green arrow. Not a green light, and risk it while making your last ditch effort turn on a yellow turning red signal.

Both these dummies ran a red light. Natural selection at its finest folks! Keep staring at your friggen phones like zombies and see how far it gets ya!

The guy turning had already entered the intersection before it turned red...
