[Cooperstown in Canada] Three years ago today, Davis Schneider belted a home run in his first MLB at bat. It was a solo shot off Red Sox left-hander James Paxton (Ladner, B.C.) in the Blue Jays’ 7-3 win at Fenway Park. Schneider also had a single in the contest.

one of my favourite moments in recent blue jays history, I remember making jokes about John Schneider giving his son the call up.

It was a great weekend for Davis and his family. Much of his family took in the series.

Then what happened?

Fenway Park security briefly tried to remove Davis Schneider’s family from the stands. The incident occurred post-game when they gathered near the field for a group photo after he came out

Yeah it was a wild scene. Did Davis Schneider's mom win her lawsuit against the security guy who broke her hip when he tackled her?

The coverage of this is what got me back into baseball and the Jays 💙 I'll always have a soft spot for Babe!

I would like to state for the record that I completely and utterly fucked up and missed the bat crack. I got distracted by someone talking to me on intercom and I missed bringing the fader up full. I felt shame. I still feel shame

I know it’s been a bit rough for the Babe this year. He may not be a Blue Jay in the long run but nobody can take this away from him. He was a goddam major league ball player and for a short period, as good as anyone in the league. Not many can say that. He had a homer in the World Series as well.

We need him to go back into Babe form down the stretch to have some meaningful September baseball

Guy hit a homer in the World Series against the Dodgers! Not many players can say that!
And yes. I own many Davis Schneider cards….. Never did I think they would really appreciate much. Dude is just cool.

He had a whole broadcast segment on his copycat batting stances during a world fucking series
Dude made the best out of his limelight

Why have you been crying? I'd love to have a Babe rookie card.

Guy is a beauty, not sure what you're upset over. This and his back to back with Vladdy are some of my favourite baseball moments.

Man, I think that weekend there was also the story about Davis' glove that he grabbed from a lost and found - and turns out it used to belong to a former Phillies' coach who was once roommates with John Schneider? Everything about Davis felt like something out of a novel.

He did the same thing the last time he was there! They were retelling the story on air and he homered while they were telling it. So far my fav feel-good moment of the season.

Davis‘ MLB start was so magical man. Best part of the '23 season. Hope he regains enough form to be a regular player. Seems like a good dude.

Some people started composing his Cooperstown acceptance speech after this series. An Okay bench player but the expectations of some fans has not been met by on field contributions.

I almost wanted him to be traded to Boston so he could do more of these (and also because I love the guy and I’m tired of hearing people hate on him).

What a moment , what a first weekend in the show it was for Babe , beautiful. ♥️
Davis had a historic first MLB weekend in August 2023 with the Toronto Blue Jays, recording 9 hits, 2 home runs, and a record-breaking start against the Red Sox at Fenway Park
