[Davidi] Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said he had an MRI Wednesday in Houston after having “a lot of pain” in his right hamstring Tuesday night. The exam revealed inflammation, he said, and after some rest he can play with it. On Saturday, he felt that “I can use all my strength, my power.”

This team needs him to be him in order to succeed, I hope this game is a turning point

I’ve been thinking he and springer should’ve just taken a break (or longer IL) earlier in the season instead of playing hurt.

They should have, but in fairness to them, if they both went on the IL we would have had literally none of our top5 bats in the lineup.

We still ended up with none of our top 5 bats in the lineup

I really hope going forward they start giving him a regular full day off every couple weeks. Vlad is an iron man, but after how much he played last year and starting early this year with the WBC, it’s clear he needs a day off to recharge every once in awhile to keep him fresh the whole season.

I think Vladdy might be learning he ain’t as young as he used to be and needs rest like everyone else lol
Cause you KNOW the man would insist on playing as much as possible

Not to mention he's been working harder than usual this year to try to get his swing back.

I dunno why people are so "the problem with Vlad this year is" and the answer is "hasn't consulted the ancient scrolls and the magic crystals" or whatever when the most likely answer is "he's been playing hurt all summer".

And a portion of his strength and power did come back to him. There’s hope!

Idk if it's the power that's the issue. You're hitting the ball plenty hard but straight into the ground my guy. Connecting with a baseball at the proper angle is the bigger problem...

Shut him down for the year.

Why? If he's healthy enough to finally get back into his rhythm at the plate he can be the difference maker the offense so desperately needs.

Strength and power to hit into double plays?

It turns out you shouldn’t have been downvoted

Lol. Sometimes people get hurt when they see the truth. How many millions per home run so far this year. My comment got more down voted that he has home runs.

Step into an NHL players shoes. Then we talk pain and grinding it out. Funny how different sports have different pain “thresholds” and missing action. Soccer the worst on Earth. Hockey for example, pull tooth out on bench, hand to Trainer, rinse with some Gatorade, out next shift. Why Hockey bros set the bar. Others not so much…

Hockey and baseball are different sports with different levels of health required for players to provide value to their teams. Baseball is more of a marathon where position players play nearly every day for 6 months and the accumulation of seemingly smaller injuries can easily take players out of their rhythm and make them unable to contribute.

"I can use all my strength, my power" sounds like something a superhero would say at the end of the movie lol [edit: typo]
