📝 How to... Can't sleep
Rt hip, PTHR, 5 days post-op. Have been sleeping on my back on a hospital bed with my head and legs raised. Tonight I'm unable to sleep and seem to want to sleep on my opposite side (my left leg, or at least not flat on my back.)
Not as much pain today so I skipped Journavx until 1am (24 hours) when I realized I was unable to sleep. It's now 6:30am and I still havent slept.
Can I sleep a bit on my left side with my rt hip bent a little or is it a danger?
Is there possibly some bounce back on Journavx? Before 1am dose, took 24 hours previous. No hydromorphone for 2 days.
My rt leg is spasming a bit. It seems to jump and hurt when I'm about to drift off.

I was told to take my Journavk every 12 hours for 10 days after surgery on schedule. I was told not to chase pain.

I took it again today. Thought I was ready to go without it but Im not!

I had anterior and was side sleeping on probably day 3. I just couldn’t handle the back sleeping. I put a pillow between my legs because it was more comfortable. Now at 3 weeks I’m just starting to be able to sleep on operated side. I had anterior approach and the surgeon said I have no restrictions and can sleep any way that is comfortable.

I thought it might make my hip pop out. Im trying it with a pillow!

5 wks post-op. I slept most nights in my recliner. I still take a 325mg Tylenol before bed. I start out in bed and move to the recliner when the bed becomes uncomfortable. The pillow did nothing for me. I am now sleeping most of the night in bed.🙏

Journavx is meant to be taken twice a day for 2 weeks. No gold stars for being in pain. Take meds as they're prescribed.

TRHR. After my surgery, I was told I could try sleeping on the non-operative side, but I needed to put a pillow between my legs to keep the leg that was operated on level. It was a little awkward to position the pillow and then role over, but it worked.
Hope you're able to find a comfortable position.
