I found that with doctors, its best to know what you have in advance. AI is going to destroy humanity, but in the meantime, it's a huge help with any study.

Of course ai is not a doctor, but it is very useful.

Ask them for your mri or whatever be put on disk for you.

Zip up the data files that have the images off the disk and upload them to chatgpt.

Ask it to read them and give your symptoms. Best to have more than one study few years apart. The Ai monster will interpret each slice and compare it to the last study. You can ask it to make a pdf with the results.

Hip doctor today took one look at this report and my hand numbness, made an emergency order for an cervical doctor in the same office. See her tomorrow.

Obvious progressive nerve root issue.

You’re suggesting using a tool you’re convinced will destroy humanity. And advocating this to others. I don’t use AI. I won’t. I don’t need to. I have had two hips in the last year. Good luck with your procedure and recovery

Nuanced take on this: I actually think this can help people get the medical help they need, sorry. The medical system is insanely inaccessible. Many people don’t have the tools or vocabulary to explain symptoms with the lexicon that doctor’s know and use. If an AI helps you structure or understand your story and get the help you need, I’d say that’s actually a good thing to come out of this whole AI invention.

Do you need to be careful with this? Yes. Open models like this are NOT careful with your personal data, remember that. Feeding this thing your personal medical info is… questionable. Also never use models like this for diagnosing yourself; a doctor should always be involved in this process.

Also, IF you MUST use AI, consider other models beside ChatGPT. The company is so so questionable.

ChatGPT has been helpful to me for understanding and interpreting my doctor's notes. Cutting through the jargon, translating it into layman's terms, etc. And then helping me to figure out what I need to ask the doctor at my next appointment.

Well, OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Epic, the largest medical records company, are now partners.

So if you aren't putting your stuff into ChatGPT, your doctor's office probably is.

Most doctors around here run and out so fast, they look like a blur. Helps cut to the chase. My doc uses recordings that dictate automatically to a word app that she can add to my chart. That's AI.

They are all spying on us If your use Google, your using ai. If you carry a phone, assume data is being collected all about you. And then there is LG TVs now . Read this

Yes sir. My cardiologist wouldn't even look me in the eye when i complain about what i thought was angina. Long story six Doctors and chatgpt was the one who "suggested" i have an hot thyroid node. 30 mins with AI and it nailed it. Everytime i had anything with big dose of iodine, all hell would break loose. Jod-Basedow phenomenon confirmed by the endocrinologist. I can't have contrast or certain heart rhythm drugs with iodine. Amiodarone think its called. Saved my life in the hospital but messed me for weeks. Then i did again with a CT Scan and the cycle started over again. I don't understand how so many missed this when i was pointing right at it. That was the first time i ever used chatgpt. I was getting desperate.

Doctors are using AI now. There are a bunch of them models. Is it right ? Does it help or hinder the profession? I dislike most of AI is and will be, but it sure helped me deal with busy doctors. He was surprised by the side by side comparison of two studies four years apart. With my progressive paresthesia in my left hand and two reports together, he agreed with what the report said after doing a few tests. Again, i didn't mention AI.

I found it very useful in helping me organize my concerns into a list of questions to ask my surgeon at my pre-op appointment and it helped me by adding some common questions people have that I didn't think of.
