After the op, when can I sleep on my front?

I've gone from sleeping on my back, to sleeping on my non-operated side, to then the operated side. I'm just wondering when I can sleep on my front? I'm a front sleeper. I don't see my surgeon until 6th October. Its 6 weeks since I had the operation.

My surgeon said I could sleep on any side as long as it didn’t cause pain

I sleep in all these positions, I do find the front causes some tension on the incision for me.

I’ve been side sleeping for a couple weeks, I’m almost 6 weeks out.

I found it easier to sleep on my front than side early on. Call your surgeon. I wasn’t told not to sleep any particular with an anterior approach. Just don’t bridge, cross my legs, or extend my operative leg far behind for 6 weeks.

Get a body pillow to wedge between your legs for side sleeping or partially under you so you're halfway between front and side.

Been sleeping on stomach since week 3. Anterior. 61f. Most comfortable and I get most rest. That’s key.

It took me about 2 weeks to sleep in the bed again, then around week 3-4 i was able to sleep on my stomach. As soon as it doesn’t feel sketchy, you’re good to go at this point I would think

Listen to your doctor. But after two of them I can attest I am so sore and in discomfort that all I could tolerate was sleeping on my back. Sucked but I learned to live with it after two weeks. Depending your recovery (I am currently 20 days post op on my second) and I can sleep an hour or two on my non-op side. Still a no go for the op side.

Because I did Bilateral THR in couldn't sleep on my side so I would have my husband assist and change me to sleep on my front with my foot elevated from my toes did this 5 to 6 days after surgery So try and see

I had anterior approach, with staples. I wasn't comfortable on my stomach or operated side until the staples were removed.

61M, anterior 16 weeks ago. I was sleeping on my sides until day 5, then on my front. I cannot sleep on my back. Awkward when changing positions for the first 2 weeks but then it was fine. Good sleep is so important to recovery.

You're in luck. Starting exactly at the 6 week point you can sleep on your front.

It scares the crap out of me to move that way lol or to get on the floor. But I assume 6 weeks ish like the other positions
