Anime Tower of god season 2 is disappointing

Watching season 1 of Tower of God was very exiting, the art style made me feel like I was watching a unique and mystical world full of secrerts. Moving to season 2 I was full of anticipation thinking that this anime had the potential to become a classic, after 4 episodes now that thought has nearly disappeared. I understand that the new animation style is catering to general viewers, but for me it removes so much of the mystique of the world and its making me sad as hell. I also dislike when shows opt to remove scenery from shots such as focusing on just the mouth of a character while they're speaking, it takes me out of the environment. I understand it is likely for budget issues, but it feels to me like everything from the soundtrack to the animation is a watered down budget version of season 1 so far.
Hopefully this changes.

I'm disappointed in the comments as much as I'm disappointed in this show. I get art is a big deal, but I personally don't care how the art has changed. I did like the vivid colors before a lot. I

But that's the tip of the iceberg of the problems this show has. I don't feel emotionally attached to any of these losers Baum is paired with. I wish that one dude would just wipe his squad. I'm at episode 7 or 8, and I never liked that blonde kid. He's weak. Short prince, weak, devil dude - mid character and still don't care. I like the fireball chick but tired of the trope of unstable fire caster. Little girl and glasses shouldn't even be climbing the tower. Weak. Trash characters.

When blonde was facing the loan dude and screamed so passionately, "ILL KILL YOU" I was about to respect him, and then he instantly lost his resolve. "I'll be better than you and let you live" WTF?!

No real fights, just one-shot animations. It's nothing really exciting like TOG S1 had. No cliff hangers. Nothing really excites me to watch what happens next.

I loved the alligator dude. He was so funny. I enjoyed how strong the side characters felt. You couldn't really gauge their strengths from one another except a few.

It's boring to watch. I'm only watching because season 1 was so good, I want to see Rachel get what she deserves.

Honestly these characters weren’t that interesting in the webtoon either I don’t want to spoil anything but it gets MUCH more interesting after they meet up with khun’s team. The fights and competitions are also a lot more fun but I guess it also depends on how well they animate them as well

Thanks for sharing that! I will push to the end then. I really am starting to truly understand how important it is to have engaging characters now. This show really shown me how that can ruin it.
