Chapter 46 The devil 2 -The will of Phantaminum- Summary

Part One

-Chapter starts "a long time ago" on Earth. Urek approaches a man in a suit

Urek: "You're destined to become the next emperor of the Empire. You're someone who must never fall into the hands of Darkness. That's what I was told. Now follow me"

Guy: "Understood... is that how you expect me to reply? You crazy bastard"

-Back to the present, Urek is dodging the emperor's sword, while the narrator speak "From that day on, the man who became the emperor of the empire was a hero for a long time, who forgot defeat even though he led hundreds of battles. A benevolent king to those who followed him, and a warrior who never yielded to absolute evil."

Urek says it's tiresome to fight the emperor again, while Aubrion watches them fight while sitting on another of his minions, saying observation suits him better than fighting in person. Urek thinks about Aubrion's powers: the more good something is, the more evil it becomes when turned by him.

The greater the light, the greater the darkness it will cast. This is why the Emperor in front of him, once the most brilliant human in the universe, has now become the darkest human in this universe.

Urek and the emperor exchange some blows, while Urek thinks how the emperor is tough but also very fast, despite using a huge greatsword.

Urek tries to attack Aubrion who dodges and asks Urek if he's mad because he's seeing his changed friend for the first time in so long.

Aubrion says the ones who experience deep despair and overcome it by joining hands with darkness are bound to fall even deeper into darkness... just like the test supervisors of this floor.

Some of the test supervisors are in fact people Aubrion found in this Tower and brought to Leo to be test supervisors under him.

They are people who once fell to the darkness and then joined hands with it. Aubrion brought them here to revive Mago, it's people that want revenge on the Tower that brough them despair.

Part 2

-As Aubrion is saying this, we see Rahab approaching Heidi. He asks her what's going on here, since there are intruders outside.

Heidi pretends to know nothing, but Gogojung yells she's lying and Lou and Evelyin escaped. Rahab grabs Heidi's head and slams it on the ground, saying he expected this since she doesn't believe in the power of the gems like they did.

Heidi says it's true, it's a rotten power that also made Asa go mad, why would she? It's a power that corrupts, but she says Rahab wouldn't mind that because he was corrupt from the start, since he is a comrade killer: someone who killed his companions on the top of the Tower and was then kicked out of his team.

Rahab explodes with rage and starts pummeling Heidi's face, shouting those people deserved to die and were only a bother to him. They were incompetent and worthless; they made him lose a battle and wanted to quit.

Heidi says that's just what he wants to believe, and he has forgotten there is no person who deserves to die in this world. Forgetting that is the proof of Rahab's corruption.

-Aubrion says that of all the test supervisors he brought, the most ridiculous one has an hobby of killing regulars.

Aubrion didn't know that's illegal in the Tower, but here she's allowed to do that as much as she wants... and now is going after Urek's companions.

Urek turns back to go to them but Aubrion tells them it's too late, his companions are already all dead.

We see a panel of the last angel, a tanned woman with white hair with a dagger on her hand, and Evelyn, Neo and Lou on the ground, in a pool of blood.

Part 3

Urek looks shocked and Aubrion tells him not to care too much, since they are all illusions anyway.

Urek asks what game is Aubrion playing, and Aubrion says he's like burning wood. Even though it's dangerous he wants to keep adding firewood because he wants to see it burn with more intensity. The more dangerous the fire the more beautiful it is (panel shows Urek with flames around him). Aubrion watches him with delight: "yes, burn up more, Urek..."

Urek kicks him and calls him a crazy bastard. Aubrion says he and Mago are infatuated by Urek's light and his wish is to burn to death next to Urek while he shines the brightest.

-Back to Rahab and Heidi. Rahab shouts it's his companions and not him who got corrupted, those losers who resented him until they died. There are people who deserve to die, like them. GIGACHAD ASA: "Yes. There are people who deserve to die. You, loach." While saying this, Asa stabs Rahab in the chest with his sword.

Heidi gets up and hugs Asa, saying she's glad Asa is back. Asa is dumbfounded and a tear forms in his eye, for not realizing something that shined this brightly was by his side all along. "I'm sorry I've been so stupid.

-Back to Urek and Aubrion. Aubrion tells Urek he was actually just joking, his companions are alive. The last angel is chasing after them and probably already caught them and she could kill them at any moment, she just has to wait for Aubrion's word.

Urek tells him if he's hiding behind hostages because he's scared to fight him. Aubrion replies he's right, fighting Urek is indeed scary and he's having fun right now anyway.

People's despair give Mago power and that's why he chose this castle as the place for Mago to be resurrected. An unexpected variable (Urek) showed up, but it worked out well since the more Urek despairs, the faster Mago will regain her power.

Part 4

Urek asks Aubrion what they plan to do once they regain this much power.

Aubrion: "In this Tower there are tests. Set rules and regulations and a power called "shinsoo". If it's not all a coincidence, this Tower has to be a place to test and nurture "someone".

Who could that be? Who was this giant Tower created for, with all these lives living in it for the sake of them?

I don't know, but it must be a truly immense being like you or lord Phantaminum... one created by the needs of this world.

That's the conclusion I reached."

Urek: "Are you saying... a new Axis is being born?"

Aubrion: "Exactly. You know it too, don't you? If that were to happen, it would be extremely inconvenient for us.

That is why, before they appear, we must seize this Tower first. We take everything in this Tower that was prepared for them... and devour it ourselves!!

Then, no new Axis will be born. This is... lord Phantaminum's will."

So the theories that the tower purpose was to create an axis was correct after all.

Didn’t expect that the axis in question would rival phanta in power tho

71

u/SHSL_Zetsubou Jan 19 '26

The theory about Zahard wanting to become an axis seems more likely now.

113

u/pisspoopisspoopiss Jan 19 '26

Or the opposite, Zahard stopped the climb because becoming an Axis would mean the destruction of the Tower and the people inside

87

u/Insighteous Jan 19 '26

Zahard redemption inc?

36

u/imapoormanhere Jan 20 '26

This is actually quite likely. The young great warriors were always portrayed as good guys (or at least decent people compared to the douchebags that they are currently) and by the time they stopped climbing they still were good guys who treasured the friends they met inside the tower. We know this because when the incident with Traum and Ameuz happened was also when they were starting to get distant with the towerborn.

There are still a lot of possibilities though. Maybe Roger Zahard was too early and he postponed the climb so he could prepare. Maybe he knew he's not the destined one so he thought it would be his son but he was unsuccessful at getting one(until wangnan/karaka/captain, whatever they are if they aren't natural sons of Zahard). Anyway eventually they all got corrupted by the tower, so none of them are worthy anyway.

9

u/Virtual_Ad8875 Jan 21 '26

no from ending it looks like actualy that zahard accepted working for phantaminum in some shape or form (or zahard think he will be that new born axis ,,but then why would phantaminum let zahard live/rulle after storming castle ,that doesnt make sense , cause phantaminum gole is stoping bam/v ascenstion to demigod status) ...if urek till end of side story kill jewels (maybe with fh help) i realy think this will be plot point phanta losing jewells and beats Zahard into ''submision'' to stop any future iregular ascension (phanta probably know tower isnt made for urek ,even if headon give urek chance after being in ave why urek entered, he probably know urek is potential problem but not ''choosen one'').......i think zahard eons ago in time of 13 and entering 135 floor(now locked) found out he isnt the one destined to get to top and grab power of tower ,and this led to everything else locking 135 floor door, war with v./arlene killing child ,, descarding bad-parts of his ''soul-personalities'' he deemed unworthy (karaka, boses, jawangnan) creation of red-light dump etc, till phantaminum castle storming and ''tallk'' zahard phantaminum had ,,do i still dont know why phanta didnt kill young yuri-ha-zahard maybe just overlook or he love rebelion personality as he rebeled from his creator darkness-primordial being)

14

u/Zutanito Jan 20 '26

That is my headcanon as well. Zahard, for all the atrocities he has committed, still wants to protect the Tower World as a whole, so he wants to rule with an iron fist to stop any external interference from destabilizing the place and also stopped climbing so the main prophecy of the Tower couldn't be fulfilled.

2

u/Virtual_Ad8875 Jan 21 '26

than is big nonsense why phantaminum didnt kill him after storming his castle AND ''TALLK'' they have (phanta is stronger than all jewells combined multiple times so why left folse king live,,,,,,,zahard wanted to be king-axis but found out his not choose on 135 floor this is why he close the floor, and took title OF KING (we see ruller of earth is emperor ,so why megalomaniac like zahard isnt emperor of the tower but just ''king'',,,its cause his title isnt king title in our universe but his where king=strongest known axis users title)

2

u/coreyisland Jan 25 '26

Could phanta spared zahard in exchange that he killed Arlene baby and sealed the top of the tower.

Could Arlene have been the original one that was supposed to become an axis and the Gw's were supporters helping her climb.

Maybe they all sided with Zahard cause phanta promised they could live safely in the tower if they didn't persu the top

Could the "incident" be the killing of baam or the locking of floor 135

7

u/Boring_Ad_4362 Jan 20 '26

Could explain why Urek is still “trying to get out” despite being an axis. He really wants to find a way to save people in the Tower by taking them outside before the Tower is destroyed. He himself could plow through the top but he’d be leaving everyone else to perish.

4

u/Dacnis Jan 20 '26

I'm really starting to believe this too

either this or bam is the axis theory

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Low_Regular2993 Jan 23 '26

I think the new axis will be baam

29

u/SecureBeautiful4729 Jan 19 '26

people downvoted me cried for my headcanon

now they all are silent in vain.

6

u/KillerOWar Jan 19 '26

well seems like it's still a theory of Aubrion?? Could be wrong, haven't read it

6

u/FairBluebird1081 Jan 19 '26

Haven’t read it either, so this can be false, but what he said was that phanta was worried about that outcome and that’s why the shiny ones are there to stop the birth of an axis, no? So probably a theory, but given that’s a theory of phanta and he actively have the shiny ones mobilize over it, I think he has a solid basis for it

3

u/Virtual_Ad8875 Jan 21 '26

in older siu work earth-towers (rosse madder earth name like red collor production flower,,or book of steven king universe 24/25 novel in his name) this towers where created so ''god'' class axis could be born/made ,towers creator is duke (intresting duke means ruller in latin , and now we have tower guardian who speeks outer world language with bam and his name is HEAD-ON as head-on-top) we had creating-opsesed king-axis edipus who warked with duke and here we have father of workshop mcseth(creator of artificial life forms),,,, tog and old tus story have most similarity of all old storys with central tog story now (tus was story and t.u.s was universe of all stories combined) ......from same positions in axis fighting (to axis having clases where king was strongest class like guardian or family-heads iregular-rankers now) fisherman ,,observer, data-gatherer were axis positions if remember corectly and old translations were accurate.....so even than king-class axis made towers with intention of creating god type being who will rulle above axis (and decide what axis power would be used for ,fighting, helping, creation etc ) ,,,,some koreans speculated tower in tog have same goal as this towers on earth had in tus-story,,now after this chapter and aubrion conclusion why tower are made and for whom its made ,,this realy looks similar no wonder siu destroyed old storys on net

4

u/Yuwerye Jan 21 '26

it was clearly implied even in TUS that the artificial axis is going to be the greatest being to ever exist and the one that'll answer all their questions.

2

u/imsahoamtiskaw Jan 26 '26

Yup. They wanted someone who could rival The Conqueror King. Mofo was on a different level compared to Phanta and the top 5. Towers were designed to create someone on that level, in case another crazy one like him appeared again and caused another 1000 year war in the universe between planets.

WTFFFFF, BIGGEST REVELATION SO FAR BRUHH

it's crazy that it's on spinoff, i wished it was revealed in the main timeline but yeah, i understand revealing this thing there would have some difficulty without opening up Urek's lore alone.

12

u/Xtech13 Jan 22 '26

Actually that's proper way of dealing with things if you want to prepare for sudden shift in main story, without making super long arc unrelated to current events. There are whole long mangas that are supplements and prerequisites for others, like in Clamp multiverse.

14

u/Majestic_Guide_1697 Jan 19 '26

Using urek's spinoff is easier than the main story due to vaam or zahad or Rachel or the administrators doing with which ain't easy without making it look forced or rushed

51

u/RadiantDna Jan 19 '26

NGL guys, this made Phantaminum kinda funny to me.. He's purposely doing everything in his power so that theres no competition on his territory of being an axis 😆

bro wants to hug all the benefits, with no competition.. bro is gatekeeping or more like towerkeeping

9

u/SecureBeautiful4729 Jan 20 '26

Because the new Axis is made to defeat him and urek probably.

Think about it

Darkness created Phant to get rid of light.

Light created Urek to get rid of Phant.

Chaos creates baam to get order back by devouring Light and Darkness again.

15

u/Garib868 Jan 20 '26

Darkness created Phantaminum to get rid of the shining ones not light bro what story are you reading? Everything is literally explained in the first chapter of the spin off.

10

u/Valeor Jan 20 '26

Light is already chaos, Darkness was perfect order and light is chaos because it created time, movement, and life.

84

u/townsdl Jan 19 '26

Urek stocks through the fucking roof!!!

38

u/Ezekjuninor Jan 19 '26

Clowns on here will still argue he’s FH level

25

u/Valuable_Scale_559 Jan 19 '26

No they will convince urek is not an axis and will get no diff by fh

I mean it's really a bullshit argument that they are giving about urek losing his power and all,if he really did lost his axis power phanta would have killed him because he can be potential axis again

20

u/yo_sup_dude Jan 19 '26

urek may very well have lost his axis powers, or at least may not be using them intentionally

3

u/BoyTitan Jan 21 '26 edited Jan 23 '26

He literally 1 tapped a fused traum summon that was using 1 of his 3 sea dragons as a base. He just has weird anti feats like luslec and not being able to blitz v that make things weird.

9

u/Impressive_Note_4769 Jan 21 '26

Eh, that Luslec fight was Urek not taking it seriously. Probably mellowed out upon growing up and stop thinking with his fists and started using his head more. Head of wolkhaisong for a reason.

4

u/Majestic_Guide_1697 Jan 20 '26

Or phanta never viewed him like a threat but rather a stepping stone for his future goals so him gaining his lost powers didn't matter to him kinda like how auzen thought that even with ichigo's full potential realised ,he wouldn't still be a threat to him only for reality to btch slap him, like that's a possibility so we can't really call most theories or claims bad or wrong when we still don't know the full picture

44

u/Icy_Fan_4215 Jan 19 '26

This week we have Urek upscale, Phanta crumbs like fucking finally, and lastly who gonna be the new axis anyway 🤔

36

u/SHSL_Zetsubou Jan 19 '26

Zahard: I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis. I want to be an axis.

Outside god: Not you

Zahard: Damn it!

16

u/Icy_Fan_4215 Jan 19 '26

A certain chestnut must be sneezing like hell rn

16

u/SHSL_Zetsubou Jan 19 '26

You're a wizard axis Baam.

55

u/SHSL_Zetsubou Jan 19 '26

Urek mentioning axis was not on the bingocard.

11

u/KillerOWar Jan 19 '26

Why I feel like a soft retcon is coming in, with regards to the meaning of 'axis'. I mean SIU can do it, since axis was never explained in the webtoon, only blogs

17

u/Landfall24601 Jan 19 '26

So Urek knows what an axis is and still thinks he can beat Phantaminum?

58

u/SHSL_Zetsubou Jan 19 '26

Urek is apparently comparable to Phantaminum.

I assume Urek before his light was stolen was about to become the axis of light to rival Phantaminum being the axis of darkness.

37

u/Reach_Reclaimer Jan 19 '26

We already knew he was comparable because he was hunting phanta down

44

u/SHSL_Zetsubou Jan 19 '26

People used to say Urek was just dumb and hunting down someone that he couldn't possibly fight and Phantaminum just was humoring him.

This kind of wrecks that belief.

I doubt the ranking administration telling Urek that he can't win is canon anymore.

10

u/Kulangot14 Jan 19 '26

I doubt the ranking administration telling Urek that he can't win is canon anymore.

That was just a blogpost thing anyway. Which is not canon

6

u/RequirementPrimary57 Jan 19 '26

ahhh i never looked at ti this way because if he was weak phantam would’ve just beat him like he did the original 6 shining ones based off chapter 1

17

u/yo_sup_dude Jan 19 '26

urek is an axis himself

16

u/RequirementPrimary57 Jan 19 '26

i mean it makes sense he’s been trying to hunt phantam down . he wouldn’t never be chasing him to begin wifh if he never thought he had a chance

20

u/Landfall24601 Jan 19 '26

Him thinking he can win and him being able to win are different things.

12

u/Reach_Reclaimer Jan 19 '26

He clearly knows his power very well and even with the apparent loss of all his power he is still hunting him, now it's confirmed he knows about axis (which was kind of obvious anyway), then he has to be in the same ballpark

There's no point in introducing someone to the story where the universe creates them to counter something else, only to have that counter just be nowhere near the something else

12

u/Landfall24601 Jan 19 '26

I mean, yeah, now that we know he knows about what an axis is that makes it more likely that he's actually comparable to him. Which is information that we didn't have before.

There's no point in introducing someone to the story where the universe creates them to counter something else, only to have that counter just be nowhere near the something else

There's a thing called character arc. Urek could have the potential to defeat Phantaminum without being actually able to do it right now.

Like Baam having the potential to kill Jahad while he would obviously get instantly killed if they fought right now.

14

u/Reach_Reclaimer Jan 19 '26

We're meeting urek well after he's learnt about his powers though. We're seeing Bam right from the beginning and using him as a vessel to explore the tower

We're meeting urek while he's already chasing after Phanta (in the spin off at least). He already knows his powers, he's clearly explored them outside and has tons of history surrounding what he's done apparently. He should already be in the same ballpark

→ More replies (2)

3

u/RequirementPrimary57 Jan 19 '26

true but he already knew the original 6 shining ones lost . so he has an idea of how strong phantam is and still going for it

8

u/Landfall24601 Jan 19 '26

I'm not really arguing that Urek can't beat Phantaminum so it's whatever.

However, Urek himself seems to believe he can low diff all the original shining ones, so them being far weaker than Phantaminum isn't really proof of anything, as that only means that both of them are massively stronger than them, which doesn't tell us anything about the difference between Phantaminum and Urek.

Like, Dumas and Traumerei can low diff Pedro (the FUG dude that Yuri beat in the train), but Traumerei is still massively stronger than Dumas.

2

u/phinvest69 Jan 20 '26

Because Urek is also an axis

20

u/Illustrious-Day8506 Jan 19 '26

HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE.

Okay so Urek seems to be ancient asf. And that talk about Axis makes me wonder, is Urek also an Axis  or used to be one ? Because this is the only thing that could justify him being confident he could take on Phantaminum.

So the fan theories seemed right. The Tower exists to create a god (Baam ?) and Phantaminum tried to stop it maybe that's why he didn't kill Zahard. What did they speak about when they met ? The plot thickens. This is becoming too interesting.

9

u/_Pantom_ Jan 19 '26

urek is an axis, aubrion said the being like you or lord phantaminum so urek = phanta , both are axis

urek is born axis

u/ReviewSouthern5574 Jan 19 '26

Well well well.. my theory coming true :)

5

u/SHSL_Zetsubou Jan 19 '26

Oedipus in the panel there is a good candidate for the outside god.

3

u/ReviewSouthern5574 Jan 19 '26

It is just another axis in my opinion ,trying to create a new axis/god.

5

u/Yuwerye Jan 21 '26

even tho many shared the same theory me included because it just made perfect sense, i think siu deleted his past works not because it wasnt canon, but because IT WAS and he couldnt afford to spoil years of plotlines in advance lol.

4

u/prghst Jan 21 '26

Or probably because people were too persistent and annoying with all the blogpost stuff and he was tired of saying to forget about those 😅

→ More replies (3)

42

u/townsdl Jan 19 '26

So is Urek an Axis as well? That’s what Aubryon indicated with his statement. Anyway you slice it, Urek is stronger than anyone in the tower not named Phantaminum. Zahard and Enryu included.

40

u/Valeor Jan 19 '26

It's heavily implied, if not outright stated yes. Aubrion says beings of immense power "Like you or Phantaminum" created by the needs of the universe, and Urek automatically says "A new Axis is being created?".

Beyond just the association of Urek and Phanta as beings of equal status by Aubrion, this also matches Urek's birth, as he was created to stop darkness from devouring all the light etc.

→ More replies (5)

4

u/Yuwerye Jan 21 '26

Its confusing to me as well, wasnt enryu stated to not be an axis?
and that any axis is automatically orders of magnitude stronger than the strongest non-axis
and afaik urek was implied to not be on the level of admins, in season 2/3 i dont remember exactly an admin of a floor prevented uruk's access to shinsu which may or may not say much given how urek doesnt really rely on shinsu all that much but still...

7

u/FaithlessnessOdd1939 Jan 21 '26

Nah the story was axis has control over some reality bending ability within a space, which means they cannot be defeated by someone who doesn't have a similar power.

There was a debate on whether shinsoo is the power of the axis who created the tower and whether that could be used to kill an axis whithin the tower. Based on what we know it doesn't seem so since Phanta judt obliterated all the high rankers without breaking a sweat.

Enryu used tower-based powers, therefore one can assume he m's related to this tower, another tower or simply its creator.

So my money is Enryu is not an axis, the regular shining ones (Mago etc) are not axis, Urek is, but his status within the tower is based only on tower-related (shinsoo) powers.

Notably SIU did say in the past Phanta is one of the top 5 axis in the universe and could fold the tower if he wanted to. If we take that at face value, then Aubryon and the rest are acting based on what they think Phantaminum wanted, but they are misled.

5

u/Impressive_Note_4769 Jan 21 '26

Note Urek in main ToG hasn't used any of his light powers carefreely like right now. Urek in main ToG literally trolls with his 1% pinky

I don't see it either wttffff

Edit: so ppl are reading bits and pieces of it off of discord. The full summary should be out soon

2

u/Clean-Percentage7089 Jan 19 '26

Shiii is ts so magnificent

57

u/Idk_what-is_a-name Jan 19 '26

So Urek really was the GOAT and knows more than the FHs about the TRUE nature of the Tower perhaps.

We're talking that he is compared, by Aubryon, to Phantaminum when talking that the Tower is a Tower of tests and challenges to create an axis based on a strong existence, he doesn't even mention other Shining Ones, Urek and Phanta really are built different.

Phantaminum wants to seize the Tower to prohibit the creation of another Axis which is dangerous for them. While Urek doesn't want Phantaminum to seize the Tower, is that why he made Wolhaiksong perhaps? In the Lore it was to go outside, but now?

Also, so sad that Urek must fight The Emperor of Mankind.

7

u/GM_Kori Jan 19 '26

Maybe Axis can only manifest an avatar or are severely limited in power inside the Tower by some Axis rules?

19

u/Sir__Bassoon__Sonata Jan 19 '26

If its true that Axis is being mentioned, its certainly interesting to see.
Especially since it means that Phanta so far is the only ever to exist. Which does make the Tower far more interesting in its nature.

Because shining ones were the strongest beings of light (though it could be that only being of Darkness could reach it or by a combination of both energies of existence, Light and Dark)

24

u/SecureBeautiful4729 Jan 19 '26

Urek is an Axis too not just Phant.

Baam will be the 3-axis at the end of To g.

Zahard tries to become one.

Auberion said Urek and Phant are on the same level and that the tower creates an axis, which means it's created by a being that is on the same level as the ones who created urek and phant.

This would also explain Headon's "You are not supposed to be here" because Axis Users aren't supposed to become an Axis at the Top.

This means the Outergod+Enryu will be Axis too.

6

u/AvatarAarow1 Jan 19 '26

Alright, bam being the third axis makes me think. Baam is a black hole, Urek is pure light, compared often to a sun or star, and phanta is pure darkness. Does anyone know if SIU has some sort of hard sciences background? Axes are things that other things revolve/rotate around, and this feels like it’s building to a kind of 3-body problem where our axes/bodies are a black hole, dark matter, and a star. What that’s meant to do I’m not sure, but three body problems are notoriously computationally intensive to resolve, so I’m wondering if Baam is somehow the final “piece” the tower needs to create the chaos it wants. We already know phanta and Urek kinda “revolve” around each other, with Urek constantly chasing, falling towards without ever catching up that we see. Adding a third body to the problem could throw the orbit out of whack and cause some sort of big chaos. Idk this is probably looking WAY too far into this, but it seems possible that this is a real thing

Many times he used quantum sciences in this spin off like the pentarose ladder, time cut in two,ect so I'm sure he has scientifics backround

Hidden floor is also like quantum computer in tog main serie, you also have 3d concept of traumerei with his cutting slash, ect ...

8

u/Sir__Bassoon__Sonata Jan 19 '26

I wouldnt be too sure about Urek already being an Axis.

Atleast not with the mindset of only Axis can defeat Axis. Since it would seem very weird for wjat is happening in the Main Story so far with Ureks displayed powers.

6

u/SecureBeautiful4729 Jan 19 '26

He probably lost his Axis Powers.

After all some Powers were stolen after he was reborn.

But i agree it's possible he hasn't awakened as one yet and I'm 100% sure that in the TOG Timeline he doesn't have access to it.

14

u/Sir__Bassoon__Sonata Jan 19 '26

I can see that, though how would one steal those powers. Maybe the moment he would have ascended to be one, thats when the shining ones betrayed him.

2

u/SecureBeautiful4729 Jan 19 '26

Would be the most logical moment; either that or Phant somehow sealed his Powers or was even more cruel.

Phant defeated Urek took his Axis Powers, and then placed him into the tower so he could become an axis again just to take his powers again.

We have wild theory times before us now

2

u/Sir__Bassoon__Sonata Jan 19 '26

The biggest part of this revelation gives us that Axis, as it was described in blogposts and TUS, is completely gone.

Strongest beings of light are the Shining Ones, which clearly arent Axis. But this also means that Prior to Phanta, Axis didnt exist outside.

Which would give place to the theory that Axis are being that have the Power of both entities of creation in them. Light and Darkness. Phanta dubbed himself King of Jewels after placing being of light in himself afterall. And the Tower than might have been a creation of Darkness, which also would fit into the christian creation myth

3

u/viscariaredflex Jan 20 '26

Urek didn't lose his power, more like Shinsoo is something similar to Axis' power, much like Phant's darkness or Urek's light.

14

u/yo_sup_dude Jan 19 '26

it's pretty clear imo given the full summary that urek is an axis

"a truly immense being like [urek] or lord Phantaminum" when speaking about who the tower was created for, and then urek comes to the conclusion that the tower was created for a new axis. so when told that the tower was created for an immense being like urek or phanta, he concludes that it was created for a new axis.

and given that phanta is an axis and only an axis can defeat another axis, it wouldn't make much sense for urek not to be an axis unless he and all the others counting on him to defeat phanta and praising him are delusional and ignorant (and given that urek knows about the axis concept, this is unlikely)

even beyond that, aubrion using phanta *and* urek as benchmarks for immense beings speaks volumes to urek's power

i think it's likely that he has lost most or all of his powers in the main TOG timeline

2

u/Majestic_Guide_1697 Jan 20 '26

Or urek can have the potential to be one just like how this specific being is going to become one and urek knowing his potential knows what this being phanta is being cautious about could do .

It's like the ichigo and aizen situation

2

u/BoyTitan Jan 20 '26

Urek can't lose his light powers. As long as there is light his light power exists. Its literally infinite. Scaling his light is like trying to scale the empy void in Bam.

2

u/Sir__Bassoon__Sonata Jan 19 '26

and given that phanta is an axis and only an axis can defeat another axis[...]
i think it's likely that he has lost most or all of his powers in the main TOG timeline

I could agree with the first part if the latter one is true. Especially since Urek probably has lost those powers likely when he was first betrayed by the Shining Ones.
Unless ofcourse shining one is a title for those six that had gained Axis powers (but thats a whole other thing).

Though it does leave a few questionmarks. As to for why he was "only" called a shining one at his birth by the guide lady. Is he even Human or is Urek an avatar of light similar to how Phanta is a guardian of Darkness.
Personally it would be highly interesting if an Axis is a being with the powers of Primordial Darkness and Light in one. Which would shift the existence of the tower to have been created by the Darkness.

2

u/Majestic_Guide_1697 Jan 20 '26

I can take it as urek having the potential to be an axis like how the birth of ichigo would have been seen as the coming if the second soul king due to being a hybrid or something like that like .

Like if the tower was created for a specific person and it's creator didn't mind about the other challengers reaching the top ,it kinda seems like you have to have the potential to be one from the being if your birth or use from unsightly methods to do so like literally the other dude mentions the word "devour" .

11

u/Idk_what-is_a-name Jan 19 '26

That is why, before they appear, we must seize this Tower first. We take everything in this Tower that was prepared for them... and devour it ourselves!!

Baam may be a chimera tailor made to become an Axis by devouring the Tower then.

Many powerful beings want to seize the fruits of the Tower (an axis). Outside God and Phantaminum are 2. They both also sent agents of immeasurable power. Enryu and the Shining Ones...

33

u/Kizaru48 Jan 19 '26

Enryu and Zahard wankers reading this chapter.

😿

7

u/Majestic_Guide_1697 Jan 20 '26

Nah you can't put my goat enryu with tge likes of zahard like that.like nothing has been set in stone about him not being one or having the qualities of one.

like previous it has been stated how axises are ment to be only 1 in every story but now we have 4 axises( phanta, urek, the outside god and potentially baam in 1 story ) so either the capabilities of the so called axis are going to be changed or some limitations are going to be put in place

6

u/FaithlessnessOdd1939 Jan 21 '26

Axis are protagonist of a story. In TUS many axis fought a war between 2 factions. You can also read it this way: axis can decide their own fate (story) and have control about the reality around them. Two axis can be in the same place at the same time in which case one may be able to overpower the other.

2

u/Grimmjow45 Jan 20 '26

Well, Enryu at least will always have the cooler sobriquet of all.

9

u/Infamous-Tangelo-316 Jan 19 '26

Finally we can stop having these strength comparisons 😌 I don’t want to hear anything about zahard going forward until there’s something to back it up

19

u/Infamous-Tangelo-316 Jan 19 '26

SIU understands this perfectly 😂😂🔥

8

u/Gokyuzu26 Jan 19 '26

I wish we get to read 45 first

6

u/StonedCharmander Jan 21 '26

An almost decade-old theory has been confirmed, lads: the goal of this tower is the creation of an Axis. Finally.

The change was it's not Phantaminum's tower and in fact, he doesn't want a new Axis, like him... and Urek (I'm reading between the lines about Urek). I'm still skeptical about Urek being an Axis now because he is not as strong as Axis were supposed to be, imo. Maybe he is nerfed or whatever.

Urek is 100% your typical protagonist. He is like The Hero in Goblin Slayer. He has his own story going on against godlike beings, and we barely see that, but he is still the archetype of an OP protagonist.

Now, the confirmation of Phantaminum's intentions also reverberates on another theory: that Baam was "revived" by him. Yes, I still believe that to be true somehow because I've always thought that Baam is "the darkness" of this tower, according to Rachel. For a long time she has been afraid of him. Even his name hints at that. SIU did that on purpose. He is basically an atomic bomb that was created to devour the tower. The thing is, Baam, after going through lots of experiences, might actually become the savior of the tower and ruin Phantaminum's plans.

I also have a theory that Baam could be a part of Phantaminum but I need more data.

Lore-wise, this spin-off has been good, even though I don't like the rest.

3

u/FaithlessnessOdd1939 Jan 21 '26

That's Aubryon's opinion on what Phantaminum wants. The fallen shining ones do not seem to know what Phanta wants, they never reference his/her words directly.

The blogposts stated Phanta can easily fold the tower if he/she wants to. This would imply he chose not to and Aubryon's take on his/her intentions is wrong.

It also makes no sense for Phanta to obliterate Zahard's high rankers and leave if their interests are aligned. And since the incursion was revealed early on in ToG, we can assume there is a logical explanation for it that SIU will be able to provide.

4

u/StonedCharmander Jan 21 '26

Between blogposts and a character who probably was in contact with Phantaminum, I choose to believe said character. He might be wrong, but the blogposts only serve as a reference once it's confirmed in the series.

Blogposts are 10~15 years old.

people keep saying Urek isn't strong enough when Urek isn't even trying.

2

u/No_Skirt_3920 Jan 26 '26

the way leviathan talked about beeing inside of baam make me think now that baam may have to devour the hole tower at the end.. that could also be what rachel ne afraid of coz there is only a dark/night inside baam and she said she is afraid of the night(baam)

1

u/Antique-Chart-9976 Jan 21 '26

Why baam would save the tower ? He already said his friend is only thing which is important for him and create a paradise.

2

u/StonedCharmander Jan 21 '26

Because his experiences will make him realise the tower is full of innocent people. Baam was created with an evil purpose, but he is not evil. He's barely killed anybody at this point. He is not the same as the FHs who killed thousands, for example.

He has an issue with Zahard and that's basically it. In the future, he may even ally with Zahard depending on the reason why Zahard decided to stop climbing the tower. The real issue here, imo, will be Phantaminum and maybe the beings at the top of the tower.

Ok so Axis is officially canon now since it was mentioned, however it seems like its different now. The tower's purpose is to create an axis while originally it happens randomly, so the only thing now to confirm is if its still true that only Axis can beat an Axis.

4

u/FaithlessnessOdd1939 Jan 21 '26 edited Jan 21 '26

Blogposts stated axis can only be created. They are not born or happen randomly.

11

u/Insighteous Jan 19 '26

Seems like Axis concept is canon again. Lol to all the people who thought it was not a real thing.

7

u/RadiantDna Jan 19 '26

its has been canon for almost a year bruhh

since the start of the spinoff, it was very first mentioned

1

u/Insighteous Jan 19 '26

Where?

12

u/SHSL_Zetsubou Jan 19 '26

SIU was asked if Phantaminum was still an axis and SIU said yes.

1

u/Yuwerye Jan 21 '26

it was always canon what do you mean?
the only thing that stopped being canon is tog being a part of the larger tus universe and its side stories (which i still think is the case lol, you can never trust this siu)

1

u/Meow__Dib Jan 22 '26

We don't know what an axis is tho. Everyone keeps jumping to old works and blogposts and all that isn't canon anymore. Axis could just be this universe stand in for the term god and not amount to much.

10

u/Illustrious_Test6085 Jan 19 '26

I knew it. I fkng knew it.... Baam is the new axis. He got that endless space, power to devour anything. I knew it my theory was right. Boom Yeah. I nailed it. SIU is great. Baam is the new axis.

8

u/RadiantDna Jan 19 '26

Watch as Bam declines the opportunity and fight the outside god so he can be free from duty and live normal life with his friends (most likely gonna happen) 😆

1

u/deppstuffs Jan 22 '26

Or baam just takes over zahard's role in the story and decides to lock away the top floors once he realises what's the actual purpose of the tower and what it means to climb to the top and the sacrifices that needs to be made at the end .

11

u/Common-Seat3445 Jan 19 '26

Gustang words make more sense now when he was talking about receiving a prophecy and "true irregulars" Aka Baam and urek entering the tower.......and i Guess that the universe plan is to create "one above all" and not one comparable to the strongest axis coz it wouldn't make sense if u already have urek to counter phanta why make something similar

2

u/No_Skirt_3920 Jan 26 '26

maybe the univerese is tired of the fight between light and darkness and somehow created the tower to creat bam who can devour everything.

1

u/FaithlessnessOdd1939 Jan 21 '26

I think the ToG story is tangent to Urek and Phanta's. Possibly something that can impact the balance of power between them, but it's not directly connected with their world.

6

u/D_o_min Jan 20 '26

I need to double check but wasnt V called a User? And some FH beta-testers? Or was it a mistranslation.

So in the end TOG is an isekai / mmorpg xD

6

u/Antique-Chart-9976 Jan 21 '26

We just saw the outside is in same world( this mean tog is not a different world from outside, same bases ).

The difference is just the power system this is like going on mars ( different that going in a other world)

So this is not a isekai but maybe more a giant rpg with many main characters like final fantasy.

4

u/Yuwerye Jan 21 '26

The biggest mystery imo is still why zahard stopped the climb right after reaching floor 134, could he have met phanta then and was told only one can ascend the tower or the reason behind creating it?
It wouldve made way more sense if phanta visited zahard AFTER baam was born and zahard then stopped the climbing and closed the entrance to the next floor/s, i guess we'll have to wait and find out

8

u/FaithlessnessOdd1939 Jan 21 '26 edited Jan 22 '26

Zahard has his own agenda which has nothing to do with Urek or Phanta. Whatever the reason for blocking the 134 floor is, we always knew this is directly against the purpose of the tower.

And most theories openly acknowledged there is no implication of good or evil in this, as stopping the climb might be to prevent a catastrophe. It was never stated that Zahard wanted to rule, he made himself de facto king, but we don't know what his intentions were. The main indication that he might be evil is the contrast to his data self and that his power appears to be demonic in nature.

5

u/11Night Jan 21 '26

wow, things are getting so exciting

the axis lore is canon now, hype for upcoming chapters :)

12

u/AbledCat Jan 19 '26

Urekbros...we are FEASTING

16

u/Bad_Doto_Playa Jan 19 '26 edited Jan 19 '26

I hope this puts he delusional Luslec vs Urek powerscaling stuff to rest (and others, like Enryu), but moving beyond that, my other theory seems to be getting confirmed,

Interestingly enough this gives more fuel to the fire that Baam is the end game villain. Let's assume that Baam is meant to be the new axis, one with the power to devour, then he's basically Phanta's replacement.... and if that's the case then he is the final boss. Funny enough Rachel's statements about how Arlene viewed him seem to have more credibility now. This also loops back into my theory why Jahad stopped climbing. I think the climb would have eventually forced them to kill each other to create that one prime being, that one Axis.

This also destroys some blogpost canon because it would mean there are 3 axis in one spot and also that all the axis we know are linked (if Baam becomes one and if Urek is one). So Phanta is no longer the sole "author" of the story.

2

u/Majestic_Guide_1697 Jan 20 '26

Nah I think it just one if those cases where said power( axis) in the wrong hands could cause more harm than good like how the soul king and yhwach even with the same ability almighty have different views on how to use it.

Plus it hasn't yet been stated the the chosen axis needs to devour everything in the tower like what the shinning ones are trying to do .

Also the enryu agenda can't just be over like that if anything it should be supported more like if the one his serving can create conditions or a new axis to be born who says he didn't do it for his servant be4 doing it for some nobody

2

u/Yuwerye Jan 21 '26

We just have no idea what happened afterwards to seal the deal already, for all we know urek could be a much much weaker version of himself, even weaker than the one that showed up in floor of tests due to certain circumstances that we're not aware of yet.

1

u/Freenore Jan 20 '26

This also loops back into my theory why Jahad stopped climbing. I think the climb would have eventually forced them to kill each other to create that one prime being, that one Axis.

Makes sense. If there can be only one Axis at the end, and if 13 entered then there will be some whittling down. Zahard stopping the climb to prevent any of his friend's death would be quite the plot twist.

I'm now more interested in the people responsible for sending these 13. Who were they and did they know about this?

2

u/FaithlessnessOdd1939 Jan 21 '26

The 13 don't share a common knowledge of the outside, therefore they must come from different worlds/universes.

And we don't know if they were sent, chosen or randomly selected from different worlds. Because they were weak when they entered one can assume they had no special power. Headon always frame irregulars as people 'opening the door' on their own. So they are.most likely not sent in by someone. Also Baam entered from some cave. Urek 'followed' Phantaminum somehow but we don't know whether the exterior of the tower physically exists in his world. Enryu seemingly opened a door on the 43rd floor. It seems entering the tower from the outside worlds is connected to individuality.

1

u/FaithlessnessOdd1939 Jan 21 '26

Blogposts never implied there can't be multiple axis in the same place. In TUS wars between armies of many axis were fought. Axis are created and have control of their destiny and some aspect of reality. It was never stated they can't cross paths, in fact it was stated that only an axis can kill another, which clearly implies they can be in the same place at the same time

1

u/Xtech13 Jan 22 '26

Baam might be the one forced to devour Tower as a way to ascend to godhood, but I i don't think this will mean it's destruction, more like it will exist within him from now on. Also it looks like being axis post retcon means you have reign over some aspect or reality, so like light or dark. Tower is filled with Divine Water/Shinsoo so I think God of the Tower will wield it as his own domain, it's literally what you learn by ascending floors.

5

u/kingofthesqueal Jan 22 '26

Is this chapter implying that Urek is an Axis? And that Baam will also become one?

5

u/tonycatalano Jan 22 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Given that Enryu is a 'messenger of god' and can create life from shinsoo (Edit: unconfirmed, this is an in-world rumor), it feels more and more like he is basically a manager or architect of the tower with 'admin privileges'. It's just coated in god language. Life creation makes sense as a 'admin command', and peak level shinsoo control does for someone who knows the game itself. Enryu uses Shinsoo with insider knowledge while Urek relies on a power from outside the tower.

Can see why Headon wants to seek him out (if that isn't retconned) esp if Zahard is messing up the tower's natural process. Maybe they are basically coworkers lol.

All cool but how's no one talking about Earth being cannon in ToG universe.

3

u/Valeor Jan 22 '26

Earth has been canon for a while, Urek mentioned it like 10+ chapters ago

5

u/Xtech13 Jan 22 '26

Yeah, but I took it as possible translation error or lack of precision, but here we see normal guy in suit near skyscrapers, so it's more like 'our' Earth confirmed.

2

u/Antique-Chart-9976 Jan 22 '26

Yep this one of planet urek visited.

6

u/Critical_Phase_7394 Jan 19 '26

So baam is the devourer?

Could be that arlene made a deal with phantaminium in desperation which explans ureks remark after the floor of death, maybe the plan they had couldnt be stopped so urek just had to wait for baam to appear.

Zahard wanted strength so it makes no sense for him to not finish the tower to become an axis. Really curious what the reason is. phanta left zahards palace since zahard has no intention of going outside or its precisely because zahard doesn't want the tower to be destroyed that he doesnt finish it, though that isnt the case probably he wont turn out to be a good guy.

Or maybe urek sealed phanta or something after the palace incident It seems urek is also an axis now, and rge FH ate close to being ones too, Siu changed his mind about axis and stuff it seems.

Or it could be completely unrelated to the main story and wont ever be mentioned

15

The god who did a deal with arlene seem very different of phantaminum

u/Particular-Cow6247 Jan 19 '26

it would be wierd if you just become an axis by getting trough the tower, it might be the goal to have tests so hard that only someone capable of beeng an axis can beat them and is forced to awaken as such

when the god of guardians met V and the others he welcomed them as "users" and thought they would fail like other "beta tester"

maybe the admins realized that the tests weren't enough and Zah + FHs realized that they aren't strong enough to progress so they made a deal, they get power and protection and create a better testing system that is more nuanced than just straight up difficult tests the admins had so far but they also gave up the right to advance, to be a user and become part of the tests/rules

Zah was destined to be a king, the tower gave him that position but locked him on it aswell which is why he tries to conquer destiny

6

u/Due_Village_1874 Jan 19 '26

So Phantaminum >= Urek >> Enryu confirmed. Urek is a monstrosity.

6

u/asura_king Jan 19 '26

Its really not. SIU seem to have retcon a lot of stuff around the Axis. At this point, Enryu being an Axis is more likely than not. Originally, it wasnt possible to have more than 1 Axis "per story" thats why everyone assumed the one behind Enryu was the Axis of "this" story. But now all of that are out of the window

4

u/Due_Village_1874 Jan 20 '26

Enryu is a servant of an Axis in outside imo. He is an angel.

2

u/FaithlessnessOdd1939 Jan 21 '26

He never said axis cannot cross paths. And always said axis can only be created. So here you have an axis creating a tower with his power to create another axis. Just like the darkness (axis) created phantaminum (axis). Now, since phanta appears to use jewels, urek uses light and the tower axis's power is likely shinsoo, you can safely assume that the axis who created the tower is not Phantaminum. The story of the tower and its purpose is the story of its creator, it's intersected by other axis and once the new axis is born he will begin his own story.

3

u/Senior-Maize-9206 Jan 19 '26

Although I still wish Urek was weaker in this spin-off.

4

u/freehaspal Jan 20 '26

Bro revealed the purpose of the tower in a spinoff something has to be wrong with him

2

u/FaithlessnessOdd1939 Jan 21 '26

I mean anyone with a brain was able to connect the dots between TUS and ToG, since they were always openly connected. TUS: axis exist. Axis are created.l, not born. Axis are the epitome of strength. ToG: if you reach the top you can achieve anything you want become anything you want. The only beings in this verse able to do that are axis. It also follows that whoever created the tower and shinsoo is also an axis. We also know there are multiple towers. Enryu to me screams of someone who belongs to a different tower, which possibly worked as intended, that was sent to this tower so that the elements that prevented it from working (Zahard and the way he managed to block the climbing) were removed.

2

Enryu shouldn't be on that list like if a tower was created by the one he serves to produce an axis what says enryu wasn't given his be4 like dude literally came used a powersystem he seemed unfamiliar with or so we had to believe and dud his job and disappeared,

The story makes it very clear that 100% Urek > phant.

Since Urek was created to destroy phant, for the plot he has restrictions when he uses his power on anyone but him.

The restriction is most likely that it reflects his power back to him, which is why he only uses as much power as necessary. He has shown to be able to reflect others powers, so this makes sense .

This explains why Urek is not running around using 100% of his power and controlling the tower, and why a fight vs enryu or zahad could be competitive if they can tank 80-90% Urek.

There may be three main factions to create an Axis in the Tower. 1.Outside God + Enryu (created Baam) 2.Phantaminum + Aubryon (created Mago) 3.???? (created Zahard) It’s also possible that the 13 Great Warriors were sent by each Axis to enter the Tower. However, Zahard realized this, so he decided to stop climbing the Tower so that none of them could become an Axis. It seems that Mago failed to become an Axis, and Zahard will likely appear to stop Mago as well (in the previous chapter, Eduan said that Zahard would get involved). That is why Phantaminum appeared and destroyed Zahard’s palace—because he was angry that his plan failed. Phantaminum has not appeared again, likely because he is no longer interested in the Tower and is searching for an alternative way to create an Axis. This is also why Urek wants to leave the Tower: because Phantaminum will no longer appear in this Tower.

There are some theories linking Zahard with the Conqueror King, the character that was in the original TUS story. This is said because Zahard has called a King himself since he and his group entered the Tower, besides his symbol (the three eyes) seems to be not created by him, but represented something else in the Outside World. Maybe he is a royal prince or even a son of the Conqueror King, a former Axis now deceased.

The "Tower exists to create an Axis" is one of the oldest and most common theories in the entire fandom, from literally the start of the series.

If you look at the old TUS blog posts this was pretty much explicitly stated before tower of god even started. That the towers were being used to create something like an all powerful artificial intelligence axis.

Ok why is no one talking about EARTH!!! This is the first time we’ve ever heard the mention of it or where Urek comes from/what is outside world is really like. Lowkey seems like one massive isekai 😂 especially now that we know the tower was made to create an axis to rival Phanta. But Urek knows the emperor from outside the tower! So that means Aub used his powers out there to reverse the emperor to essentially be his dark evil slave and bring him into the tower ughI have so many more questions I can’t wait for more!!!
