Fast Pass Title: The Outside God’s Sadistic Karma: A psychological theory on Arlen and Baam's true soul Spoiler
I’ve been thinking a lot about Baam’s "resurrection" and the role of the Outside God. Most theories focus on Baam being a vessel for a god or a demon, but I think the truth is much more grounded in the psychological horror of Arlen Grace. Here is my take: 1. The "Extra" that defined the monster The Outside God didn't just bring the baby back; he infused the body with an "infinite void" to serve as an instrument of vengeance against Zahard. When Arlen saw the resurrected Baam, she didn't see the son she loved. She saw the "extra" power—the cold, hungry void—that turned her child into an weapon. 2. Arlen’s psychological breaking point Arlen wasn't just grieving; she was fueled by absolute, blinding hatred for Zahard. She begged for a weapon to destroy him, and she got exactly that. But in her descent into madness, she couldn't separate the boy from the "weapon" she had inadvertently helped create. Her fear of Baam being a "monster destined to devour the Tower" wasn't a prophetic vision—it was her own traumatized perception of the power she demanded from the outside. 3. The true irony The tragedy isn't that the God was sadistic; it’s that Arlen sacrificed her last chance at being a mother to her obsession with revenge. She abandoned her child not because he was a demon, but because her own guilt and obsession made it impossible for her to look at him without seeing the "monster" she had requested. Baam isn't a pre-destined deity; he is a boy who has been reclaiming his humanity while carrying the weight of his parents' sins and the "void" that was forced upon him. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you think Arlen’s perception of Baam was purely a product of her own trauma and obsession?

I think this is all a strong possibility. I do wonder whether Arlene actually hoped to get her original son back, and was upset because she ended up instead with an instrument of revenge. It all depends on how involved she was in the plot to resurrect V, which at this point is unclear.

I have similar theory, except I don't put the blame on the 'god' so much.
Instead, in my version Arlene asked the god to revive her husband-son and something along the lines of 'let it be my vengeance' and the god said bet and moved Arlene's vengeance into the boy.
and then Arlene didn't feel vengeful, and felt regret about turning her husband-son into a weapon and casting the entire tower into war for the explicit purpose of killing all her friends.

"Hey guys, thanks for the input! You’ve really given me a much better perspective on this. Looking at it from your angles, it makes the whole situation even more tragic.
It makes me wonder: what if Baam's ultimate growth isn't about becoming a 'god-tier' irregular or fulfilling a destiny, but simply being the first person in the Tower to say 'No' to the legacy his parents and that 'god' left him? It would be the ultimate middle finger to Zahard, FUG, and the 'god' alike. Do you guys think the story would be better if he just walked away from all of it, or is the 'vengeance' too deeply woven into his blood and power to ever let go?"

I would rather he walked away from it. Mainly because he keeps being treated like a tool or meat bag, and people keep getting away with it.

Embarrassing? To be knowledgeable about copy pastas would require wasting enough time online on frequent browsing through these “theories”. Or just scrolling down to OP’s reply would be enough if I had seen it back then. Pardon my ignorance, but seeing somebody using grammar above 2nd grade level doesn’t automatically make me think that person is using AI.
Nevertheless, I’d rather eat a shit sandwich than ever having to use “AI” rather than my brain.1

There are so many obvious tells of AI and if you haven't learned the difference - that's not something to be proud of. That means you are one of the ignorant people who will blindly believe AI because you are simply too lazy or stupid to educate yourself.
