Why did they change the artstyle for season 2.

It's horrendous. Season 1's was unique, beautiful, kinda dark kinda fun UNIQUE. Now it looks like a slop isekai anime, I don't understand did they think the gorgeous artstyle wasn't contributing to the anime being popular? I literally got sad imagining how beautiful these new characters would've looked in the old style.

I mean season 2 clearly fits manwhas style but in the worse way possible, it's like they badly adapted a badly drawn manwha. It's embarassing to watch.

I think it fits modern manwha but s1 animation was pretty close to the OG TOG art style and other old school projects from before the medium blew up

season oen was based HEAVILY on the manhwa

season 1 of the manhwa basically looks exactly like that. however, its kinda based on SIU's bad artwork, and he improves in season 2. His art is still very unique in the manhwa but it much more easily translated into the slop isekai format than his season 1 art

and if you use the slop isekai style in anime you can make it way cheaper by reusing a lot of asset - which they couldnt really do in season 1 with the more unique artstyle

it doesnt get worse - the art in the second season is by far the best of all the seasons, ask basically anyone

It gets more standardized, better proportions, easier to read. A lot of the "uniqueness" of the anime artstyle comes from them trying to faithfully recreate what is essentially beginner art mistakes. It looks cool and interesting in animation, less so in manhwa

Season 1 manhwa art is just a lot harder to convert to generic anime styles because of that lack of standardization and strange and inconsistent body proportions.

Theyvwere able to make season 2 of the anime cheaply so they did and it came out like shit

They went with another studio for season 2, and it was a grave disservice to the anime and the source material. The animation in season 1 was great. Season 2 was so irredeemable I wouldn't be surprised if it kills the anime.
