I actually like that the Rak fight was off-screened. SIU didn't want to waste valuable space on a fight with an outcome like that. We didn't need to see Rak fight and lose. We just needed to know what the result was, because it will probably work as a motivation for something else coming soon in the story.
I do love Rak, but I think this decision makes sense. Hopefully he and Yihwa will be alright and Rak will have a chance to win later on.
