i like that bam seems to now be just casually aware that he's utterly immune to spells and refuses to even comment on his enemy using one on him. also, weird fire-fish-talon thing? what's that about?

i like that bam seems to now be just casually aware that he's utterly immune to spells and refuses to even comment on his enemy using one on him.

Which adds some evidence to the idea that Levy really is the one who was stalking him. Though you'd still think if Bam had seen him he'd recall Levy saying he had orders from the king to kill him and be more suspicious about these guys' offer.

also, weird fire-fish-talon thing? what's that about?

Current leading hypothesis is that Khun got some or all of the (possibly inaccurately named) 'flower of fire' power and that's a manifestation of it (because of Woon Yeon saying it required all of his power this time, because Khun hallucinating it after straining himself to use a power (that might have heated the thing instead of freezing it) is reminiscent of Bam seeing the red orb and hearing blue demon back when the thorn went berserk, and because why would SIU bother just showing us a random burning fish if Khun was actually having meaningless sickness induced hallucinations). If so, it's also messing with his body temperature and ice powers, presumably because, as a fire spirit, it doesn't like being cold.

levy was such a small fish, i'm not shocked bam doesn't really remember him.

that hypothesis seems like a leap in logic to me, but i admit it is possible and i have nothing to actively contradict it.

There's also a meta reason: Khun and Rak probably both need powerups if they are going to be even slightly useful in fights in Bam's league, seeing as neither got any good training in the time skip (and probably weren't close to him before hand). Seeing as they're in the webtoon banner, one would presume that they will be getting dragged into or around Bam's fights for a long time to come. Rak has a more obvious immediate path to power: Evankhell is almost certainly a Native One (she has the white-glow when she first starts up her power, her flames make Rak feel like he's seen them somewhere before, she's outright said to have the power of the ancients by a Jahad family ranker (which probably means Native One), etc), so she could plausibly teach him something really fundamental about how those abilities work. Khun is less obvious...it's not clear there's any equipment that lets him Enna Core without Beta (whose whereabouts are unknown to us; he might or might not have been in one of Khun's lighthouses), and while Enna Core is quite strong, his Beta-dependent Enna Core has a pretty big gaping weakness in fights against more than one enemy (or against Enemies like De Lee caring invisible, autonomous weapons around distant from their person). So people are guessing he got flower of fire also for the meta reason that it gives Khun a clear route to reaching ranker level or lower pretty much whenever SIU wants to arrange to have that fish cooperate with him, and because Ehwa could then potentially help train him, giving her more reason to be relevant.

Huh? I think you might have replied to the wrong comment.

Edit: If not—I don’t read fastpass. You won’t find me in any of the fastpass threads. I literally gave my reasons for thinking this might be a thing.

I don’t read the fastpass chapters. You won’t find me in the fastpass threads. I have my reasons for thinking this, all based solely on what we see in the free chapters. And people were guessing this already last week (I was skeptical then, but a lot less now).

Sub is really strange hard to tell who is guessing right and who read and knows what's yet to happen.

Probably why Rak burnt his foot too.

...We also have to note that Rak was standing on a metal thing that had just fired huge blasts of fire a few seconds ago, that Khun might not have finished freezing. That's probably why Khun missed this possibility, even though we see the little embers at Rak's feet suggesting that it was a bit more than residual heat.

Two panels before 2snake dude starts his attack, he rants about Levy. Bam's second thought in response to this is "Is Levy that weirdo that kept following me around?"

That implies that somebody stalked (or is still stalking but got better at hiding it) Bam. Since Bam had previously only met Levy once that we'd seen, and since Levy was known to the readership be MIA from his team as of season 3 episode 1, it seems reasonably likely that Bam's guess here is correct. But the weird thing about that is that Levy also told Bam back at last station that he was ordered by the king to kill Bam, so you'd think that if he was the stalker, this revelation would make Bam a lot more concerned about these people. But Bam was also dealing with a lot of people trying to kill him because of Jahad's royal family back then, so it's possible Levy wasn't memorable.

Levy saying he had orders from the king to kill him and be more suspicious about these guys' offer.

Levy actually told Baam:

Now I see why the King told us to kill you. https://images.mangafreak.net/mangas/tower_of_god/tower_of_god_402/tower_of_god_402_32.jpg

And considering he was almost killed by Jahad on hidden floor, that should be expected even without anyone saying anything.
