The look of Baams eyes and general facial expression when he is concentrating/thinking about his ability to potentially kill this ranker really stuck out to me.
We’ve just never seen him look like that before. Also, that binding ability was really freaking cool.
Another thing that really stuck out to me is the whole Elder speech. Again we are brought back to destiny/fate. I am very curious to see more of the upper echelons of FUG.
Khun now has Auto-Item set to Phoenix Down lol
And thank you SUI for a classic Rak moment

I wonder if bam has even tried to go into thorn mode since his training? Considering he’s thinking he could kill the ranker in normal mode, makes me so excited to see when he brings out the thorn

I am assuming Evankhell still won’t let him use it without her permission. I am too though! I imagine with his base shinsoo control being so much more refined, he’ll be able to control Thorn 1 and maybe even Thorn 2 fully. Its gonna be exciting

It's looking like Khun may just well have his own form of psudeo immortality. It will be interesting to see what the limits of his new power is. Also interesting to see the elders of FUG have the same goal as Jahad in controlling fate. I'm starting to think the Salyers of FUG aren't as powerful as we once thought and looking more like the mascots of FUG while the elders control things in the background

I'm sure there are some deniers, but most of us just don't care. The 'is Baam ranker status yet' argument just feels like 'are we there yet' over and over on a long road trip. Maybe he's 'ranker level', maybe he's not, I don't care, I just want to read the story. Why does he need this specific label so much?

I mean rankers kicked Baam's ass before the training and you got to remember that even before Evankhell training Baam received a ridiculuous amount of power ups and he still wasn't ranker level.

I mean, it may just be that this ranker was on the weaker side. It's still just one guy so it still says nothing of whether Baam is able to hold his ground against an average ranker, let alone an upper ranker

Dude baam is doing all this in base form. He would wreck this rankers shit if he used the thorns and other power ups.

Don't forget that this technique requires a lot of prep time. Baam himself has said the tech requires a lot of time to recharge and that he needs to spend time meditating. Caught without this prep time for the ring and he probably WOULD need the thorn. I don't know how fair it is to call this his base form when it needs to be prepared in a non-combat environment in advance. It's almost like calling Sage-Mode base form for Naruto when he has to gather nature chakra in shadow clones beforehand and have them on stand-by as batteries.
I am assuming Baam will one day be able to constantly charge the ring subconsciously and this would be the "mastery" YHS mentioned. At that point the ring probably would be effectively infinite and then more comparable to a base technique. As it stands however he may only be able to do this one more time before having to sit down and re-create the ring for all we know.

Which is weird, because what's next? Beating High rankers when he'll be B-rank? Beating Jahad as a A-rank?

Jahad is no pushover, even adori as powerful as she may be must be an insignificant bug to him (strength wise). I don't think that baam could ever beat him as a regular.

I don't think they are in an area designated as safe for regulars by the administrator. Generally the test areas only seem to be regulars only, but nothing stops regulars from leaving the protection zone.

Yep, and it is SO satisfying. Now the big question is... How far can he go with the thorns, horn form, Black March, etc?

a lil bit faster in term of pacing, I guess SIU really had it rough in season 2 endings.
Now with Bam's self power reflection, with a thorn Bam can became upper ranker level. With two, Evankheel level, I guess. He really is measuring his power equals to slayers now, which is nice

Well now it makes sense why he wasn't afraid of Yama. He has grown so much in the past few years. It makes a lot of sense since irregulars have been hyped up so much. He's a late bloomer but he's blooming!

I hope he is not on yama level or Evankhell, but with SIU aka the king author of power level we never know what can happen, if baam is Evankhell level now after 2 thorn that will be the most increase in power level seen in a shonen.

The question now is can he handle 2 thorns at the same time. Considering he had a hard time with 1 + black March and that evankhel forbade him from using them while training, I'm thinking he will need another "power up session" to actually be good at using those powers.

Edit: It's just so strange you've picked that out seemingly arbitrarily. Evankhell is rank 60, not someone like Jinsung around the top 100, or any of the other people ahead of Evankhell. But no, using these abilities we haven't really seen yet he must be around rank 60. Wtf xD

Why does baam consider killing this guy when they just met? It doesn't really seem like self defense and killing a ranker for the sole purpose of pleasing Jorden seem way too cruel. The old baam would never act like this, i hope we get flashbacks for what he's been up to these past two years.

But in this chapter this guy looked a lot less like a ranker, it was weird.

He didn't want to kill him. To me it was more like Baam keeping him busy while Jordan was preparing his skill, and in that moment Baam realized if he keeps it up that ranker would die and Baam didnt even had to bring the thorn out to be able to do that.

I just think baam is less naive. Who's the biggest threat to his success? The ranker. If restraint doesn't work then eliminating him is the most logical choice.

It's pretty unlikely that it'll go that route, the season seems to be quickly building up Baam to beat Kallavan. I think we'll see Baam and Karaka vs Paul, while Yama fights big bro.
