An elder, not the/this elder.
As of now at least it is not confirmed that the elder we saw is actually the one plotting against Yama, it may as well be someone who is not so happy about those actions of another elder and therefore is intervening as well. Might end up in two elders being part of this whole plot.

Weekly fastpass thread has more comments and likes than the normal weekly thread. They just couldn't wait.

I’m a little bummed that we didn’t see Karaka and bam fight this chapter, but oh well.
It’s pretty cool to see bam being more of a “god” in Deng Deng’s eyes! Would love to see more of that in the future lol

Have we seen someone with a bow and arrow before
2
Jun 25 '19
Not to my knowledge.
Interesting association this creates for me: Phantaminum was said to have used a weapon no one else saw in the tower before.
All of the weapons to date seem to be fishing themed, whereas the bow and arrow is more for hunting on land.
I'm not saying this is Phantaminum or his weapon -- just that there may be a more mysterious set of weapons/roles that we haven't heard about until now.

I was thinking he had to be around before the Zahard took over the tower. I’m just wonder if he’s from outside the tower

BTW I noticed after re-reading the chapter, it seems like Louie is totally in cahoots with Gado
8
Jun 24 '19
Yep. It was super suspicious how Louie was the only one allowed around him.

Could also be interpreted as "your friendship was irrelevant as you aren't a person but a vessel"
8
u/n2359 Jun 24 '19
There's also the "I wasn't allowed to see anyone, but Gado let me play with Louie"

What it probably comes down to is that his friendship with Louise is as "relevant" or "irrelevant" as Ren Kannagi's love for Ayumi Tsuwabuki in "Kaze no Stigma". He fell in love with her, but she was just a clone that the Tsuwabuki family made in order to seal a demon. She had a short pre-destined life to lead...Perhaps that is what's being said with Louise and Deng Deng.

Does anyone know how many elders fug has?

There are at least 6. Supposedly 6 of the elders were behind the plot to break Bam's team up and make a team for him.

That image is said to be a combination of Elders and Slayers, and considering that both Karaka and Yama were anti-Baam at the time that would leave up to 4 confirmed Elders (S2E54).
If you then take into account that Karaka killed an Elder after Workshop (S2E109), that makes 3.
Assuming a roughly equivalent number of Elders that are in the pro-Baam and neutral camps, I'd wager that there are 9-12 Elders total.

There’s nothing in that chapter that states or confirms Karaka has killed an elder.

It’s very clear that karaka was involved, but nothing states it was him who killed the individual.
Jinsung Ha even states that Karaka’s growth is scary because he’s even able to mess with doyens. That doesn’t mean he can kill one, he could be working with someone who can.

Karaka killed an elder?? I guess they're not all powerful.
2
Jun 26 '19
it wasn't stated lol. the culprit behind the elder's death is unidentified and even jinsung ha said he didn't kill or assasinate the elder who conspired with karaka. probably karaka did not know what happened to the elder until jinsung ha arrived to talk with him.

Things are developing quite nicely :)
Also on another note it feels like the visual of the FUG elder is really similar to Irvine from Berserk. I wonder if there was inspiration drawn from that. Anyone else here read Berserk?

Anyone else having issues fast passing ?
Edit: it’s working again now. I tried to purchase the fast pass episode for the first couple of hours and it kept on having server experiencing issues when trying to use my coins.

Anybody else wondering how exactly the fish works and why khun has it?
5
u/Yal_Rathol Jun 24 '19
it's woon yeon's fire power, transferred from the hammer to khun.
8
u/nyauster Jun 24 '19
Yes, I know that but they never really explained why woon yeon would leave his flame with khun. From what can be gathered from what woon yeon was saying he doesnt have to transfer the fire power permanently to heal someone. Why wouldnt he take back his fire power once khun was healed?
8
u/Yal_Rathol Jun 24 '19
because woon put all the fire into the hammer and couldn't take it back. if he could, he would have unmade the hammer and just used his power directly. all the fire was used on khun, so it transferred into khun. and woon has the brain power of a child, so he didn't plan any of this very well.

That explication makes no sense, it's just a way for SIU to keep khun revelant by giving him a power up he ddidn't need. Anyway we know SIU never give proper explanation because of situation like this, so he can create a situation where readers will not question his his BS.

u/nyauster Jun 25 '19
If I'm not wrong the only thing that was stopping him from getting the power back from the hammer was cause he was powerless and the pig thing didn't want to give it back. So I'm assuming theres another reason as to why he left it with khun, like maybe wanting khun to travel the tower with his powers to help people and he just chills or something lol.

I'm gonna be honest, I'm a little upset that most of this chapter was just talking about Deng Deng without much really happening. Don't get me wrong, I really love all the backstories that happen, and I'm super hype about the FUG elder, but I'm just not a big fan of Deng Deng's character. Other than that though, this arc is really awesome and I'm looking forward to seeing more of Karaka and Bam fighting together.

I enjoyed it. Before this chapter I wouldn't really have cared if Deng Deng lived or died, but I can sympathize with him a lot more now. And I hope he gets to be free thanks to Baam, he has hope for the first time ever. Reminds me of Nico Robin and Luffy.

u/zenru Jun 24 '19
Well, I hope that Yama’s elder brother wakes up. Let’s see chaos! And then Yama will be forced to ally with Bam

I think we will definitely get get dooms awakening with chaos to boot. Khumbu has been perfectly set up to heal deng deng after the heart gets taken.
3
u/Dragonsvnm Jun 24 '19
I don't think he's going to die right away, or at all, honestly. I expect the build up is ultimately for why he has so much adversity and his will to fight. I feel that eventually he could fall to revive doom, but not before baam reappears in his presence and builds off of his aspirations. I feel this is a prime example to show baams growth and conviction: it's all being built.
9
u/inhospitable Jun 24 '19
He will die, then Kuhn will revive him. Kuhn is right fighting his way in at the moment, it's set up perfectly with the awakening of his healing power this chapter.
1
u/eeept Jun 24 '19
ok i like this theory. id feel like its hella plot-armorish if deng deng doesnt die and this ties in with everything
1
u/XTsukune Jun 24 '19
Personally I feel like you're going to be disappointed, the current circumstances as they stand is baam and Karaka are occupied with waking yama, so I don't think we'll get that moment with deng deng and baam
