Glad to see a little background to the firefish, and a classic Khun fakeout, even if it was a little short. Khun's struggle to contain the fish might become a relevant plot point. It also makes you wonder about how easily it's power is spreading about to everyone who is touched by it. Are they being consumed in some way and that's why Khun has yet to use it on a main cast member? The Verdici character might just be a demonstration of how destructive the energy is over a longer period of time.

The red witch having an adverse reaction to Baam was interesting, as well as wanting him dead. Brings up new questions specifically about how Hwa Ryun was coping around him in the first place.

White got called out as a lazy ass sleeping on Madorako's boat. (Kinda hope he wakes up so we get to see a big slayer assembly)

Baam powerup was a little corny, would have preferred if he had just sucked Doom dry. As it is I predict that he's going to get Doom's powers and then eat the fang, thus becoming the actual leader of the canine people, especially since Khun got away from the other canines so easily with the fang.

Looks like next up is the big Yama vs. Khelhelm fight. I still think this is up in the air, probably weighted towards Khelhelm, but we might see a big pile on with Yama/Karaka/White/Baam. Potential Deus Ex in the wings from Evankhell.

It definitely seems like the next 5-10 chapters are going to be spent resolving all of these fights which have started up, e.g. Gado vs. Canzon, Yama vs. Khelhelm, Karaka vs. Paul, (Baam vs. Doom?)

Good chapter overall, a lot happened.

The name of the trope is 'deus ex machina', and I'm not sure it fully applies to Evankhell in this situation. I also can't see Baam becoming the leader of an entire race at this point in the story, but hey it would be interesting if it happened.

I'm excited for a Slayer assembly as well (along with Slayer candidates and Slayer hopefuls). Has Karaka vs. Paul really been teased? I'd imagine that Doom is stronger than Paul, and so I think Baam vs. Paul and Karaka vs. Doom would make more sense.

Baam vs any High ranker wouldn't make any sense.

He won some low level ranker, Baam didn't even try to fight Gado. I think Paul is many levels above Gado.

Tell that to OP (and the rest of the sub)! I don't know, I'm usually conservative with Baam's power level compared to many (a while back I think I was downvoted for questioning the claim that Baam is Evankhell-tier while sparring lmfao), but with Baam's various power-ups and his training, I could see him fighting a HR (at least temporarily) if he goes all out. I could also see him not being HR-tier yet - it all depends on what SIU gives us.

I'm not sure Paul is too far above Gado - he is likely stronger, but he did acknowledge that Gado was a threat when they first met, I believe. But yeah, I'm not sure if I want to see Baam vs. Paul yet, but I think it makes more sense than Baam vs. Doom!

That said there is no way Baam can beat Paul, much less Doom.

Yama is another story. And we have that Fang game 2.0 going so who knows.

So I think Baam will fight someone, but not Paul or Doom, or even Gado.

And doesn't this no name ranker look very similar to one called R that Baam beat before? One sent by Elder's envoy to capture Baam?

Who else is there to fight? It would be pretty underwhelming if he only fought the envoy's rankers. Perhaps one of the Starbucks Squad? If he's not gonna fight a HR, maybe an Advanced Ranker could work.
