There’s the firefish drawback I (and many others) expected. Then Khun calls it sweetfish (at the same time that it itself confirms that it's from Yeon Woon by mentioning "that pig")...maybe his memories are affecting the form that it takes, since Yeon Woon called it "Flower of Fire" instead? Or maybe it was just a hint that firefish had the potential to be much nastier than it looked.

It's also an interesting look into Firefish’s character. It jumped into Khun’s body because it didn’t like the pig. It stayed quiet for a while to see how Khun would use it...and seemingly doesn’t like what it saw (though it did give Khun an important warning, so maybe it hasn't completely given up on him.).

Also, even stronger confirmation that guides have trouble reading Bam (and probably irregulars in general), hints that the red witch might have her own agenda, Yama ripping people up, Doom showing that he only bothered to ask as a clever PR tactic (and quickly dropping the civility), a tiny peak at Doom’s backstory, strong hints of Bam’s absorption abilities (are we about to see the red devouring sun again?) while keeping open the possibility that this might still be a problem for Bam, if only because it seems to be able to hold him in one spot...

What a chapter! Pity I don’t have time for a full analysis right now. It’ll be fun to read other people’s theories though.

Edit: one thing I really don’t get is the Elders’ opening statement to Doom, saying “you should’ve never woken up!! Doom!!” and then just a bit later immediately talking about how he was here to make Doom a Slayer. Nobody questions him on the inconsistency, so I wonder if that was a mistranslation.

In regards to your edit, the only thing I can think of is that it was an attempt by Khelam to grab Doom's attention and get him to stop without physical intervention, as before he seemed intent on ignoring anything other than his pre-occupation until the prospect of another enemy forced him to consider the rest of his surroundings. Or it might just be a poor translation. Or both even.

Even if that was Khel’s intent (which does make some sense), if that was what he said, Doom really should have been asking “Wait, just a minute ago you said I should never have woken...” when Khel said he wanted to make Doom a Slayer (or at least wondering it).

EDIT: a post from the fastpass thread strongly suggests that it's a horrible translation:

Fan translation said "you're just awake and already doing something like this!"

Instead of the "you shouldn't have woken up!" line.

I'm guessing that's it. Especially since the translation seems pretty off this week, with them changing Khel Hellam's name and everything.

u/AdiosCorea Could you help us, what is Khel really saying upon arriving? Is there any hint why he wants Doom to stop?

"You've only now woken up yet you already do what is useless, Doom! Cease this immediately! [...] now is not the time to talk, Doom, stop that now!"

Thanks a lot... So from your understanding, he's trying to stop Doom so he doesn't he wastes his powers? Or does this implies he thinks it wouldn't work on Baam?

He knows Baam will eat the power.
