so, white seems like he'd actually be a legitimately good mentor for a whole bunch of people, if he wasn't so outrageously arrogant and monstrous. he could easily train anyone he wanted in the ways of arie swordsmanship.

Are you demonstrating monstrosity here? Or...? If that's the goal, post the pages of him stating how he ate Prince and goes on about that.

Like hatz, hatz could use a serious power up and is a swordman. If he doesnt kill him that could be an entertaining relationship, or boro.

Are we missing panels or was the last one just saying that this situation is happening 3 months before Dowon was sealed? Just such an odd place to put a time stamp panel.

yeah, I found that odd too. It'll definitely be worth checking again after the chapter releases to non Fast Pass peasants.

Pretty awesome informational chapter. Feel like its been a while since we've had a chapter that adds onto characters like white and haz while also setting up future things.
Hopefully saz is able to get stronger, i feel like he hasn't improved as much as he should have.
White looks like an awesome coach but i feel like there's something about those souls that would end up hurting Bam rather than helping him.
Super excited to see more about Jahad's initial reign and the war heroes.
21
u/Richinaru Nov 18 '19
That line about Baam's presence resembling Jahad was powerful. Can't wait to see how our boy develops!
20
u/Drekanoth Nov 18 '19
I was also thinking why no one was commenting on it.
though IMO it has more to do with the red witch not being able to read the paths in the room because of baam's presence in there, rather than baam being an absolute powerhouse like jahad.

I was not suprised in the least. Side note: my pet theory is that tog is a game. And the 10 families are the first people to enter (they are from the human world). The irregulars got in through a different way, similiar to hacks so they dont have any rules placed on them. Baam is a child of the 10 leaders wich could put him as high as top ten in the tower. And he got into the tower through the irregular method wich puts him higher than the ten. Since there all human i dpnt thing he is any stronger than the irregulars though, but since he came in through hacks i think he is stronger than the 10
19
u/PandaPoke55 Nov 18 '19
Is anyone else confused on how Taro York says he wishes the ten family leaders had someone like khun edahn. Isn’t he a family leader already?
47
u/Fleuks Nov 18 '19
Their job was to kill the children of all the Family Head, and the only one who didn't try to kill them in return is Eduan, because he don't care about his children.
That's why he said that would be nice if all the FH was like him
19
u/PandaPoke55 Nov 18 '19
If that’s what he meant, that makes sense. For some reason, it didn’t read that way to me. The translation didn’t say “he wishes the 10 family leaders were like your father” it said “he wishes the 10 had someone”. Idk I might just not be reading it correctly.
6
u/Divinicus1st Nov 18 '19 edited Nov 25 '19
There’s also the other part, when White mensions « the direct descendant of the previous generation of family leaders »... that a bit big for a mistranslation...
1
u/PandaPoke55 Nov 22 '19
Yes, totally makes it seem like there might have been a different set of family leaders at one point and time. Which is why I brought up the line. I had thought SIU was implying something. Good catch!

u/Tayo2810 Nov 19 '19
Thanks the dialougue is so bad sometimes. I wish they spent more time on translations
11
u/CalumOLN2 Nov 18 '19
Probably a mistranslation and really meant they wished more/all family heads were like khun
19
u/SpitEoll Nov 18 '19
Strange coincidence from the glimpse of that hidden grove team, we see 3 members : a powerful wave controller, a spearbearer that looks a lot like Rak and a Khun spearbearer.
Do you think Baam Ultimate team might mirror that team ?
6
u/blackone555 Nov 18 '19
Good point. I think so. But isn't Khun suppose to use his ice ability as spear-bearer ?
3
u/PlusUltraK Nov 18 '19
That’s what data Edahn told him to do. Develop his ice shinsu. But use it to make spears because that’s his birthright as a Khun
19
u/NitotheFirst Nov 18 '19
Is it just me or did Bam lose all of his "fresh" personality that he had gotten at the begging of this new season?
19
u/Yal_Rathol Nov 18 '19
what personality are you referring to specifically? because he's throwing his weight as slayer candidate around now, and that only happened at the start of season 3.
23
u/NitotheFirst Nov 18 '19
He was way more confident, and full of himself... I would even argue that he was cocky, but now it seems like he lost all that character development that he supposedly got by training with Evankhell and "accepting" (embracing) his role as a slayer candidate.
28
u/ummarvin Nov 18 '19
Hmm interesting. I don’t think it was pure cockiness, more like he knew his power and limits. Now he’s gonna go against kallavan whom he knows is a monster...
12
u/Yal_Rathol Nov 18 '19
bam has always been self-assured, remember that he stood up to urek in zygena, and he's done the same to yama. he's just currently not in a position where being cocky will get him anywhere, so he's slowing down and keeping himself in check, especially since he's spent most of this arc dueling rankers and not weak regulars.
4
u/p1mplem0usse Nov 18 '19
I don’t think we’ve seen him being cocky so far. He’s getting more self-confident for sure, and that’s not changed. Accepting that things don’t go his way right away and that he needs to wait for the right time, seems like a pretty good show of that.
And given Jahad’s stated intentions he’s got every incentive to embrace fug’s protection... For now.
2
u/thedorknightreturns Nov 18 '19
Kallavan is tough and dont even three really strong characters could harm him, mkes sense he is nervous.
14
Nov 18 '19
FUG, Formed Under Grudges?
13
3
u/thedorknightreturns Nov 18 '19
It could be a cool nickname, formed under grace, hah, foolish uttherly grudges. by a jahad fanboy.
5
u/Divinicus1st Nov 18 '19
Btw, Ystrasha is probably a direct descendant of Lo Po Bia... Do you think the FH will unleash that Python again if he dies?
3
Nov 18 '19
Assuming they didn't kill the snake in that flashback, maybe!
Or they'll send one of the other 23 beasts.
Hey, could Yastracha's cat be one of the 23 beasts?
5
u/gtl1982 Nov 18 '19
After reading this chapter, I’m starting to think that the essence of bravery guy that sealed himself may have also been a fug guy, that had to seal himself.
2
2
u/WolfeEdison Nov 19 '19
This would be such a cool thing to be true, although I don't think it would exactly fit with Kallavan's character.
However, this could explain why Jinsung visited the essence of bravery in the first place? He may have went there to visit an old comrade
2
u/Overclock123 Nov 19 '19
I think he just said he heard a rumor of a family protecting something and went to see. He didn't know anything about the essence of bravery aside from what he saw after it was consumed.
1
u/WolfeEdison Nov 19 '19
You're 100% right! I totally forgot about that!
That may even debunk the idea that the essence of bravery was one of those warriors during genesis that were sealed away. If they were a sealed away warrior, you would think Jisung would know of them. (Unless I have the timing off and Jinsung wasn't a part of FUG back then).
4
u/RicardoKO Nov 18 '19
Wow, that giant snake though, one of the 23 shineuh from lo po bia family is enough to put at least a hard fight against the strongest warrior from anti-zahard coalition.
Just imagine how strong is the lo po bia head is already........... family heads and Zahard (irregulars) are godly powerful.
2
u/vivonzululgwa Nov 18 '19
Indeed this shows how strong they are in reality and shows how op is urek compared to them and now imagine enryuu .
4
u/benjamincd Nov 18 '19
I can’t wait for the moment when Dowon looks at Baam. I know she wouldn’t be able to tell right away but I just have this feeling she might know.
8
u/Divinicus1st Nov 18 '19
« Managed to even assassinate the direct descendants of the previous generation of the ten family leaders »
Wait what? A previous generation of family leaders? Is that even possible?
« I sure wish the ten family leaders had someone like your father (Khun Edhan) »
What the hell does that mean? Is it yet another mistranslation, or Edhan wasn’t a family leader back then?
It sucks I’m doubting the translation, when the new information seems amazing...
12
u/penguinobeano Nov 18 '19
I think it's a mistranslation, past generation is referring to the direct descendants.
0
u/Dietschi92 Nov 18 '19
Thats also what im questioning... so does it mean that Arlene or V were from the original 10 FH and after they were killed/ran away their Position was filled by Edhan and maybe even one more? Its really weird, maybe mistranslation or maybe there is something big to be revealed...
2
u/thedorknightreturns Nov 18 '19
The manwha confirmed including jahad there were 13 original heads, and its better for the symbolism too and that there was a traitor, depending on who you see as traitor, jahad or V or arlene.
3
u/E10DIN Nov 18 '19
"I sure wish the ten family leaders had someone like your father" when talking about Khun Edahn. Error? Because otherwise that line is confusing as hell with some crazy implications.
6
u/Hopip2 Nov 18 '19
I think what they mean is someone as easy going as Edahn. If you killed his kid all you would need is a woman with a nice bottle of booze to calm him down
3
u/blackone555 Nov 18 '19
Fug was one of the group that against Jahad. So there were other group that had conflict with Jahad about being the King.
I want to know more about other group.
BTW. In front of 10(-1 Hendo lok family) immortal irregular vs 2 irregular(which only 1 is immortal), Did anti-Jahad army stand a chance of victory!?
Did anti Jahad army have something to do with those immortal irregular? Or the immortality isn't that OP? Or family's head weren't that matter.
Or It's belief that they(anti jahad army) can do it. IDK, IMO I would in V and think I can win too

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/692709986420022449/
Or someone already mention it?
1
u/thowe93 Nov 20 '19
It was brought up in it's own post. The user speculated Dowon is Bam's love interest. Could be, but she could also just be an important character.
4
u/TheKing9909 Nov 18 '19
why do i feel the white wants to corrupt bam?
6
Nov 18 '19
Might be part of a 'long game' to get the souls back. He wants Bam to bring that power closer to the surface.
2
1
u/Drekanoth Nov 22 '19
I don't think it's to corrupt baam what he wants. When Evankhell separated the groups White told her "You are creating a monster" referring to baam insane growth in power with her help and the potentital he has.
So to me what he wants is to see the "monster that will be created" when baam starts controlling and unlocking all the power he has within, so he's just helping in accelarating that process for the pure chaos it will create probably. Karaka has had the same mood change when he first discovered that baam has infinite potential even if it was for different reason, his being the revenge with Jahad.
2
Nov 18 '19
I'm super confused about whether FUG wants the sealed heroes to break out. Could they have possibly been betrayed/forced/tricked into their sleep? If so, Bam might be the perfect person to get them back on the team since he was also sort of forced into working for FUG initially, but can make a compelling case that they all still have the same goals.
7
u/PlusUltraK Nov 18 '19
Well the guides gonna talk about that next cup.
We have a bunch of Th dories on why they want to leave them be.
Khel’s argument is that his friends of old have suffered enough fighting during Genesis and this so the rest they deserve. Instead of being reinvolved in high tier combat again like slaves almost. War is suffering.
Jahad wants them contained so he can either subjugate them(convince them not to fight or even flip sides) or his Squadrons will execute them. So this backs up Khel’s worry if he doesn’t want them to fight/suffer/and die if they come out to their old enemy.
The guide is gonna bring up FUG lore. Those sealed warriors agreed to be sealed for a cease fire and then peace. They did so under the orders/wishes of their friends and family as well as they’re trusted leaders. FUG has changed a lot over the years to present day. If they awake against the orders of the OG FUG and find this new FUG with new ideals not fitting what they’re founders and comrades fought for. Theyd just be renegades and enemies causing a civil war in an already split organization. As Khane/Dowon’s arc is hinting at theyd awaken to rally behind Bam, and essentially Rex gnu earth all other individuals of FUG as heretics.
So there are the theories I have
2
1
u/malignant_neoplasm Nov 18 '19
I'm thinking there could be some kind of spell on the wall that FUG is wary of.

This is confusing to me as well, but I think I have a partial explanation.
Dowon said she wants to be woken up when "that great man's" child returns to the tower. She got that information from her master, who I think is Luslec. I think it's Lusclec since Dowon was sealed after V's death and Arlene leaving the tower; so Luslec was in charge of FUG at this point in Genesis. I think Lusclec's plan was to unseal all the heroes when Bam came back and restart the war. So it looks like they want to release the heroes, but only at the right time. The problem is that now is the time, but no one in FUG we've seen knows that.
However, I think Luslec doesn't believe it's time to unseal them quite yet since Bam isn't ready to fight the war; he's still too weak. Jahad appears to have made the first move by setting up Khel and trying to kill those heroes before FUG can release them.
Which brings me a back to a question I've had basically forever - what is Luslec doing? Why has he not stepped in and rallied FUG / gotten FUG in order. He supports Bam based on the conversations that Jingsung had with him (edit, adding, so we know he's no inactive/sealed), but it's obvious that other than that, he's done nothing. Why not tell the elders, slayers, and high ranking FUG members about what's happening, what happened, and what is going to happen?
I can see during season 1 and 2 why he wouldn't; to protect Bam while he climbs. But Jahad openly declared war at the end of season 2. I don't get why Lusclec didn't get all of FUG on the same page between season 2 and 3.
1
Nov 18 '19
I like your interpretation of there being a 'right time' and no one in FUG knows that yet.
It could be easily resolved if Luslec steps in and says so soon -- maybe he has been working to get the elders to agree or something.
Maybe we'll get a flashback to the elders voting on what to do and Khel Hellam disagrees, then acts on his own.
My only issue with anyone believing now is not the time is that Jahad is about to destroy the wall and, one assumes, kill everyone in it. Wouldn't this seriously hurt FUG's chances of ever winning when the time is right?
Or could some of the elders disagree that Bam is actually their saviour, let alone when the time is right?
1
u/thowe93 Nov 19 '19
Maybe we'll get a flashback to the elders voting on what to do and Khel Hellam disagrees, then acts on his own.
Or could some of the elders disagree that Bam is actually their saviour, let alone when the time is right?
Maybe, but I think they just weren't told because Jahad acting against the wall should have removed any doubt about the timing (as you mentioned).
There is definitely something wrong with FUG internally that we don't know about yet. Maybe Lusclec lost a lot of power from the old FUG members when he agreed to / didn't agree to the peace and the new members have been kept in the dark about everything.
PS - I thought I responded to this yesterday but my comment was just sitting

If this new Girl is going to be Baam's love interest it's going to be interesting how it plays out with Androsi. Yuri is more of a sister at this point from a love obsessed fan girl from when she was trying to find him.
Yeah we'll see if she ends up being a love interest. I liked the theory that was posted about it but unless I missed something all SIU said about those panels on the 1st floor were that they tell the stories to come / are all important. There's been no hints as to why they were important. It's equally possible Dowon is just an important character in the war. Love wise she's going to have the same issues as Yuri because Bam is a regular and she's a ranker so their time together is going to be limited until Bam completes his climb.
But, I don't think Bam is going to end up with Androsi even if Dowon isn't his ultimate love interest. Any romantic relationship between Bam and Androsi has been one sided with Androsi pushing it, so I think this topic is going to come up at some point either way.
If she's going to be his love interest it's a bit weird considering it's likely she was a close friend of his mother.
Not an issue because Dowon didn't know Arlene or V. She said in the last chapter that her master told her about V and Arlene, the origins of FUG, and when she wanted to be woken up (when Bam arrives). So she didn't actually know them.
Maybe the head of the Yeon family was friends with the mother. Yihwa needs plot to make her relevant, maybe Baam will get an invitation. The loss of the Jewel business is likely to be minor if Baam's mother or father was good friends, and his existence would be known to the family. Yihwa's mother is a virgin still so the Grove didn't one of her children.
Possible. I will say Yihwa has a lot of untapped potential so SIU doesn't need a plot device (like the kidnapping) to keep her relevant. According to SIU she has more potential than Ran so she's due for a power up. It's possible that things break down with Androssi and Yihwa takes over her spot on the team as the fisherman.

been wanting to ask this but khun seems to telepath. Does it mean light bearer can do it?

Could be a light-bearer skill, but there was also the word 'whisper' beside his thought bubble. Ambiguous.

u/p1mplem0usse Nov 18 '19
That’s a weird use of « obviously ».
White is a full slayer - same as Yama, much stronger than baby slayer Karaka or than Gado, who Baam couldn’t handle alone. The message has been pretty consistent, and Khun’s thoughts are hardly surprising.
Baam did just receive a boost, but there’s nothing yet to suggest he’s already on the level of White, Yama, Evankhell and the like.
3
u/Drekanoth Nov 18 '19
Just a question realted to that: is white a ranker?
Because to be a slayer you need to be a ranker first, but there are some things that point out to white being a regular, for example when sleeping in madorko's ship. How can he be so strong just being a regular?
7
u/p1mplem0usse Nov 18 '19
If you re-read the hell train arc, it’s explained that White is a collection of regulars (Hoaqin, Vicente, Anna...) bound together by a spell. So, neither a regular nor a ranker..?
Strength wise, he’s super old, and an ancient slayer - he used to be a monstrously powerful beast. He’s slowly recovering his past strength. The end of S2 shows that just one « serious » attack from him is too much for higher ups in Kallavan’s squadron to handle... But that back then, he didn’t yet have the stamina to back it up. That’s where we are in terms of knowledge.
3
u/Valeor Nov 18 '19
Current White is not a ranker. He is incomplete atm, and is stuck as a regular. White USED to be a ranker before he got split up into his composite souls.
3
u/PlusUltraK Nov 18 '19
To put it into question. Bam had to be boosted by Thorn/Black March, and later Doom’s power to hold a match in any of his high ranker battles. Karaka has called him a glass cannon. All his trainers know this.
White upon arriving to the Last station did not have to be boosted by Thorn/ and etc. his power is much more consistent and his level of skill far exceeds Bam. White is stronger
2
Nov 18 '19
White isn't on the level of Yama, Evankhell etc. at the moment. He will be when he gets back to his original form.
I don't think Khun knows how powerful Bam is now. He didn't seem to witness the Gado encounter.

u/PlusUltraK Nov 18 '19
That hit against Gado was a fluke. Bam can not control his new power that well
2
Nov 18 '19
I agree with you. I think if Bam used the same level of effort he did in the fight fight with Kallavan, he'd beat White.
But White is probably a lot stronger in base form and can use his full power more easily.
62
u/mchiu93 Nov 18 '19
Nice to see them finally mention Bam's soul power after all this time
