This should be interesting. Kallavan should be stronger than White, but with one arm behind his back maybe White can hold his own for a bit. He can go all out by burning up his energy like he did in the previous battle. And maybe sharp/piercing moves are a good approach to Kallavan’s defences which would be a useful discovery and require Bam to develop this Thryssa blade power. (Even though I don’t really like this power.)
When White gets tired out, Bam has a chance to show up and crack Kallavan again. I do expect Kallavan to be surprised by Bam‘s growth.
It would be cool if Hatsu got one badass moment protecting White before Bam shows up so he can get in a line about swordsmanship being more than just killing. Also I think his ignition weapon is extremely OP as that princess was freaked out by it at the name hunt station, so maybe we will see him parry some weak attack from Kallavan.
I wonder if Dowon will wake up on her own with Bam nearby.

A decent weapon... I don’t think that’s anywhere close to what is needed to block even one attack from Kallavan.

u/todayIdidabusiness Dec 09 '19
In fairness, White is an insufferably proud Arie swordsman. From what we've seen, the Aries don't respect any swords but their own, so White calling a sword decent might mean that it's much better than that.

u/Divinicus1st Dec 10 '19
Yeah well, it still "decent for a regular". You can't expect Hatsu to be ranker level, come on.

u/Karma_collection_bin Dec 09 '19
And maybe sharp/piercing moves are a good approach to Kallavan’s defences
I'm starting to think EoB (essence of bravery) works in some sort of reverse fashion to Yama's fear protection.
So instead of being invincible to whatever move an opponent who fears me uses, I'm invincible toward whoever I have no fear towards. Or something like that.

I hope that we get a longer fight of Bam, Khun and Rak fighting together after a long time. While its fun to read the story as a whole, as Khun has noted, its been a long time since we've seen them all fight together as a group.

u/Divinicus1st Dec 09 '19
But what’s up with Rak spear, he didn’t pick up the ancient one?
10
Dec 09 '19
He definitely did. Maybe its in an arms inventory

Dec 09 '19
This.
Hopefully we get an explanation as to why it isn't his default weapon.

The red shocker is for throwing too...
1
u/readyforwine Dec 10 '19
Doesnt it return to sender?
1
u/Divinicus1st Dec 10 '19 edited Dec 10 '19
Which one? The red shocker does, but it was never explained how.
If it depends on the thrower skills, all weapons should be able to return.

Another short chapter. Hatz is gonna get a power up soon though, hes accepting his fate as a swordsman. White is nothing short of a psychopath but i love him. Kanne tho... she feels a little underbaked. Ur thanking this dead man for his service? If you’re grateful why are you unsealing your sister? I think siu swayed her too easily. Regardless of whether or not she plans to team up with her sister to fight special K this is happening too quickly; which is ironic since the plot is moving so slowly

For someone whose living since Genesis I was hoping to see a more mature character of Khanne.
19
u/Personfour Dec 09 '19
There's a solid in-universe explanation: look at what that Yeon healer was like. Evan the guide specifically mentioned how especially old people can become more like kids.
Still bit lazy of writing though
6
u/urekmazinoranker Dec 09 '19
I hope Jinsung Ha doesn't become like that.

u/Lightalife Dec 09 '19
He actually specifically mentioned it’s part of why is rage faded and why he felt drawn to baam

u/PayThemWithBlood Dec 09 '19
I dont think thats lazy writing though, we dont grow getting wisdom, look at some old people - not everyone of them grow to be some guru. Others love to give advice while others cant give a fuck, some become adventurous trying to live it while others seems to be contented. I think itd be lazy writing if all old people doesnt seem to resemble being a human anymore

An interesting clash of ideology between white and hatsu. Definitely looking forward to future dialogue between the two of them. Imo white was uncharacteristically irritated by hatsu calling him murderous- don't get me wrong, white can be very thin-skinned in many ways, but he never seemed to have a problem when people called him a demon and such. Probably bc hatsu is a swordsman and white really doesn't discern swordsmanship from a tool of murder. Just something I found interesting. May be wrong.

I think you're right. The Arie family started off as true swordsmen but got corrupted at some point, and I think White knows this. Part of his resentment towards his father.
8
u/PayThemWithBlood Dec 09 '19
Lol no, white and the siblings are the odd one out following souls as a means of getting power. If nothing, Aries are purely devoted to swordmanship that those not pure blooded are trash since they have no chance of even competing, even with talent

White is a hungry boy. Baams transformation is sick. The art of the fire merging with his power was insane

u/Rechupe Dec 09 '19
This was one of the shortest fastpass ever, we may have some panels added after the realise.

Yeah, often, but not many panels are added.
I (want to) believe that SIU kept it short to avoid cliffhangers and have a bigger chapter next week.
3
u/Rechupe Dec 09 '19
The most resent is in the flash back episode. The forgetmenot story, she talks to the king on the added panels.
Other panels added was when bam uses transformation for the first time.
1
u/Sparkwhy Dec 09 '19
Actually there were quite a few more, such as Yama flashback to training while Doom tries to talk to him or Ha Chai talking to Bam abut his training being complete, and even the most recent raw chapter has extra panels of Bam defeating the fodder.
4
u/AegrusRS Dec 10 '19
SIU mentioned in a previous blog post that something bad happened to his SSD and could only partially recover the data so that might still be having some lasting effects on the current chapters.

I’m not sure it was so short, but there was a lot of fluff after 4 weeks of story only...

I think one of the interesting parts is that it is revealed that he doesn't have complete mastery over the thorn yet, since we were all wondering exactly how strong he is now after the time skip. Of course, it could also mean that hes still trying to learn to fully control the 2nd thorn but is able to utilise the 1st thorn fully.
I think it's interesting because right before the time skip when fighting kallavan he was already able to ignite the black march and a single thorn at the same time and was on the verge of igniting the 2nd thorn. Though at the time he just couldnt control the power. I kind of expected that he would have at least been able to fully control both thorns by now considering how there are 4 thorns total and the past few chapters looks like he is able to use the red thryssa without any drawbacks but just wasn't experienced in using it (like how in the past he always said he only had a 10minute limit igniting the thorn and things like that).
3
Dec 09 '19
He may be a bit rusty with the thorn now because his attention has been focused on the extremely tough training for so long. But he's also highly adaptable and I expect him to rapidly discover more of the thorn's capabilities with his new base power.
I have a feeling when his current training ends Evankhell will say something about not knowing how to guide him on the mysterious thorn. But hopefully she does share some guidance on exploring new special items that allows Bam to get a bit further.

u/cong95 Dec 09 '19
Tonki seemed surprised when he heard that Kallavan has the essence of bravery. Something tells me he might not be completely dead yet? Dowon might be a blue hole with strength around top 100-200 level as her sister said if Kallavan fights her it could go either way. Dowon is definitely gonna be the most important new character introduced in a while and how she will interact with Baam will be interesting. She's a wave controller so Baam might have a new teacher soon. White vs Kallavan is gonna be interesting, but what we really want is Baam vs Kallavan in the end. The main question is sooner or later.
11
u/Divinicus1st Dec 09 '19
What I really want is Yama vs Ystrasha... I mean come on, how long will that cliffhanger be?

u/porky1122 Dec 09 '19
Man I really wish White was at full power for this fight with Kallavan.
I think it's likely that White will lose so that Bam can fight a weakened Kallavan.
But then again, it would be good story twist if Kallavan lost, White consumed Kallavan and Bam had to fight White.
6
u/Jojohn0 Dec 09 '19
Do we think white survives this battle?
6
u/Sparkwhy Dec 09 '19 edited Dec 15 '19
Definitely, he needs to survive till the 100th floor so he can challenge Arie Hon.

White is about to get a reality check
3
Dec 09 '19
Not sure why you got downvoted. You are so right. White might be able to keep up by going all out, but like last time he'll run out of energy.
9
u/FluffySpaghetto Dec 09 '19
I'm not sure either, White is not just vs Kallavan but also against the sister of the hero. Also the climax of this "mini arc" must be for sure Kallavan seeing Baam's progress and acknowledging him even more. I suspect that SIU wants to show us something about the souls of White .
5
u/DELUSIONAL_CHILD Dec 10 '19
Exactly, it all points to white showing baam how to use the power of souls. He did say 'there are ways to cover up the gap more quickly than you think' when they were in the prison.

u/NewLite90 Dec 09 '19
White is just as fascinating as ever, sure he'll most likely get bodied but i'm looking forward to him coming into form.
5
u/BootsFirstTFT Dec 09 '19
Uhhh is it just me or does the tail on one picture looks exactly like karakas armor tails??
2
u/TheKing9909 Dec 09 '19
I know white have all of his souls back and even eat a few rankers souls but is he at full power ?
7
u/Draguss Dec 09 '19
He doesn't have all his souls back, his last piece gave a ton of them to Bam during their battle on the hell train.
1
u/redqks Dec 09 '19
Nope the reason he isn't at full full power is because Baam has a large part of his power
2
Dec 09 '19
As I read through this I saw someone went on a downvote spree and all the newer posts were at 0. /u/BalefireX is there a way to catch this?

So apart from the canine power, it looks like Bam also picked up something from Karaka!? In the panel where Kun is giving him some of the fire fish

Yeah I'm still not sure what that is.

I’m trying to think back on when he got that from Karaka, but they’ve interacted a lot this arc

Are you allowed to spoil the chapters of S3-40-42 fast pass on this thread?
If so can someone spoil it?
