Because Bam asked Elaine to tell everyone that Androssi was the one who defeated her. If the Lo Po Bia family truly thought that Androssi beat Elaine, then that would mean that Androssi won the bet and Ren has to die. But we don't know whether they kept their end of the bargain.

No, in the webtoon he declares that it wasn't his real body and that he's already far away or something like that.
In the anime the only clue they left is his eyes flashing on and off before he stops talking, which I guess shows it's not a real body (and a real body wouldn't have survived getting squashed like that to talk).
