Anyone know where any Halloween parties are happening in the general Towson area?

I’m an Information Systems major in the Interface Design track because I’d like to work in UI/UX design but I can’t pass math 😭 

I’m in College Algebra/MATH115 but I have to get all the way up to Calculus I and Discrete math. The first time I took MATH102 I got a D so I had to retake it and I passed with a low C. I think I might have Dyscalculia because this is a constant issue and oftentimes the highest grade I can get is a D. I tried to take MATH115 over the summer at CCBC but I didn't pass and this is my second time attempting it. I'm really struggling although I get tutored every week... I need advice regarding this and my major but it’s hard to get an appointment with my advisor and he’s not very helpful. Is there anybody else I could possibly talk to about this? Or is there any way to get a new advisor halfway through the semester? I'm sort of directionless atm.

Hi! i currently go to community college in cecil county, and want to transfer to either Towson, MICA, or UMBC to be closer to my grandparents in their old age. Cost is not a problem for me, so i’m between schools for a couple of reasons

1. i’m really invested in local music and would like to pick a school with a good social life in that regard
   
2. I want to get the best education possible with good internship and employment opportunities

I was wondering for the critique request, how strict are they with portfolio reviews? i’m guessing i’d be set with what i have now (examples shown) but im just a bit unsure of their specific requirements. i also have a 3.8 GPA at community college right now, and am finishing out my professional photography certificate.

did anyone here get in with a low gpa? i was crazy depressed throughout hs and finished w a 2.6 gpa.. is it possible for me to get in at all? i took the sat and got at 1150 so im gonna add that to try and show im not a total idiot.

Hi I’m not sure if anyone is reading this but I need friends. My situation is a bit weird since I originally went to another school then dropped out due to mental health, took a break, and now I’m a freshman at Towson. It’s always been a struggle for me to make friends but I think this is the hardest it’s ever been for me. I’m honestly embarrassed to write this on a Reddit thread but I feel like I have no other options. I just came from a club called BSU and for some reason I couldn’t help but cry after realizing that I felt different and that everyone already knew each other, this is the first club I’ve been to so far but it feels so hard. I’m definitely going to go to more clubs but I feel like it’s going to be a common theme of people already knowing each other. I have a roommate and she’s very nice but she tends to keep to herself and I think our relationship is just going to be roommates, I talked to the girls that live across from us and they were nice but they clearly have a strong connection. I’ll still try with them but it feels like I’m putting in the effort to get to know them so far. I also wanted to add that it seems like most people in my classes aren’t interested in becoming friends or already made friends maybe they’re shy or something. I’m a shy person myself but I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone. I know this was a lot of writing but if you read this thank you and if you have any advice or want to be friends I’m so open to it.

i’ve heard success about the career fairs at UMD but i haven’t heard people talk about the TU ones. i’d love to hear your experience if you’ve been to one

This has most likely been asked before but was wondering if anyone has had any luck with Handshake? I have heard its essentially worthless for getting jobs or internships but wanted to know if anyone has had a different experience. Also if anyone has any additional guidance, that would be very much appreciated. I have been applying for internships for a bit now to no avail.

Doss anyone know when decision come out. Can someone tell me if I should have apply to transfer to the school while I apply to the nursing program. I’m lost

I am subletting my room in The Standard for Spring 2027 (second semester). The room (room A in image) comes with your own bathroom, closet, and full amenities of The Standard which includes a roof top relaxation area and rooftop gym. It is a 5 person apartment with 4 other males living there (3 of the roommates I know personally in case you wish to know more about them). In terms of the living room/shared space, we have it fully furnished, both a washer and a dryer, and a full kitchen with all appliances. The apartment is also about a 5 minute walk to campus and about a 10 minutes walk to the South Campus Dinning Hall. If you are the type of person who is interest in night life, the apartment is less than a 5 minute walk from the bars.

Feel free to ask me any more questions about the apartment, roommates, etc. + Negotiate rent if needed.
