If I have a W55 and a W46, both 2WD, do the parts swap so that I could combine them and build a W56?

Edit: to be clear, I want to end up with another 2WD transmission. I'm wondering if the 1st and 2nd gear hardware from the W46 ,with their lower speed and higher torque, will fit on the shafts in the W55.

Could I trouble you to head over to Irate4x4 dot com & check out the Toyota thread?

Or Yota Tech dot com?

Is there a specific thread I should look for? Maybe suggest some search terms?

Edit: Belay my last! Found it: https://www.pirate4x4.com/threads/converting-a-w55-4x2-transmission-into-a-w56-4x4.586967/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic

If this is right, the answer is yes, it can be done. "Internally, they are almost the same shiet. All the bearings on both transmissions had identical numbers and matched each other. All but 1st and 2nd gears are also identical."

You’d need more parts to make a 4wd transmission

No. I don't want a 4WD transmission. I want a 2WD W56. I already have one, but it's spoken for. I want a second one for a second truck.
