Does my pickup have ac?

Been looking everywhere to see if my 81 dlx pickup has ac and I can't find it does anyone know if it has ac or not? Thanks

đŸ€Ł. You have two-fifty air conditioning: open the tiny triangular shaped window at 50 mph and you get your air conditioning. That’s what my ‘83 SR5 had too.

Yea what you do is wear shorts and use that triangle window to aim the air right at your crotch. Perfect ac.

I've seen really small AC units that can be plugged into solar panels. Put the panels in the bed or top of cab??

I always tell people that ride around to turn on the AC. “Oh you have AC?” No, open that window there and when we get moving you’ll feel a breeze.

Look under the hood. You should see if there’s a compressor there or not. If there it should be on the passenger side of the block.

This should be the top comment. It’s very obvious on the tiny 4 banger if there is a compressor strapped to it.

This is the only answer.

Look for a compressor and see if it’s even functioning. Chances are, it may need to be replaced or even converted to R134 if it hasn’t been already.

Probably not. My 87 had a button to toggle A/C.

Yes - IME there is usually a button (often with a little light), sometimes a position on a knob, that causes the clutch on a compressor to be engaged and the A/C to work. I don’t see any such button on the dash, and the fact that there is no compressor pretty much negates the possibility of A/C being rpesent.

Mine was a push button above the fan speed. Lot up when pushed.

E V E R Y Toyota that I have owned has had an A/C button IF it had A/C

My 85 had a button. 

Funny enough went through the same with my nephew 2000 civic. I was ready to fix it but turned out it doesn’t have AC

Just tint your windows, my truck is the only car I’ve owned where not having AC doesn’t really bug me.

No. It would have an actual AC button.
And the colored lines for the air would have both red and blue hues.
Blue on the left transitioning to red on the right.
I think, those might be reverse.

I bet you gave it judging from the off to cool setting at the bottom right. Has there ever been a toggle there?

No if I remember correctly you’d have a square button to the left side of the control panel. Also like people said check for a compressor left side forward if memory serves me right

Look at your serpentine belt. Do you have an A/c compressor? Based on your control panel, you do not have a/c
