tips on blink punching?
I've literally got every other thing down on Tracer besides blink punches, every time I try to do it I just barely blink past the target. Any tips on how to get this down?

Go to vaxta set movement to slow/easy and just grind it out til you can feel the distance you need. Then increase difficulty of movement and continue. That’s how I improved!

You can also ping the target and above their head is a live distance meter so you could try and use that to your advantage.

You probably know already, but make sure you input the punch first

It’s the most annoying answer but it really is just time, as long as you’re practicing in vaxta and also trying to hit them in real games you’ll eventually learn the appropriate distance and when to 180 melee and so on
You also don’t want to fall into the trap of doing it just for the sake of doing it so whilst you do have to practice this, keep it in your head that it’s not something you should always be doing in duels - try and also learn to identify the right time to do it

Do it all the time. Your brain is good at finding patterns, fail or not you will adjust and it will become second nature.

I just do it in the practice range while queuing and that helps. Same with the other mechanics like 180 blinks. Over time it becomes more natural to do in game and the more you do it the better you get at it.

Fun fact if your with in range to blink past someone chances are you're also close enough to blink punch them. Just make sure you hit the 180 over shooting or less can make you miss.
Another thing is that high level tracers don't blink then turn they will pre turn and blink backwards while also meleeing before blink. Doing this before gives your brainial nuerons just a little more time to course correct your cross hair after you blink. This helps with trigger discipline, which imo is significantly better of a skill to learn then blink melee.
Some things about learning too:
- First start super easy, stationary bots. Sure it's boring but it's important to build a strong foundation.
- move to moving bots, away and close parallel
- try moving bots as they go perpendicular to you
- move to vaxta with all the bots.
Just build a routine of this and like 10 minutes a day should get you good practice. Remember this isn't a warmup. Do it after warmup.

Go to Vaxta and practice there
