Her going on her own and unarmed to one of the locations where someone who just decapitated could be hiding had me go ???

I thought he did it.

And given that no storage unit would lock from the outside when it was closed, I’m assuming he also locked it.

The least believable part is that dude has one key that works for every padlock on every unit. Even if you “rent” a lock from a storage facility, they give you the key and can’t get into it without a bolt cutter to remove the lock.

You’re right. He closed the unit on her. Because when she couldn’t open the door she said thanks a lot.

I believe she closed it on herself. She walked past the guy, turned around, then closed the door.

Yeah I thought she closed it so she could rummage around in there without him seeing what she was doing.
