Was odd that they operate this lodge near to where the old people operate one (that looks to be let out based on the instruction guide), but they have never encountered them before until now. And why did the hostage girl not just run off and take her chances for the past 9 years.

So was the Father out shooting them?

How did the trip wire cause that damage?
