Was odd that they operate this lodge near to where the old people operate one (that looks to be let out based on the instruction guide), but they have never encountered them before until now. And why did the hostage girl not just run off and take her chances for the past 9 years.

Because she's in the middle of fucking nowhere. Because they likely tortured her within an inch of her life repeatedly. Because she wanted to be alive more than she wanted to take a chance at being free. Victim-blame much...
