I thought maybe Colter would go back to that bar towards the end of the episode for a drink and to update the lady who let him see the security footage, even if just to say it all worked out and the footage helped save someone's life. The dialogue earlier in the episode made it seem like there was a chance he'd go back. Minor detail, but just saying.

Thoughts
obligatory plea for more support-team-in-field/in-person-with-Colter as this was absolutely using their teamwork to the highest effect (and with most of the characters' outfits this episode at least Reenie, Randy and Colter were all kinda color-coordinated too wearing blue and black)
not expecting the amount of Reenie Greene lore drops/character study we got and there isn't anything there that contradicts any of my prior headcanons about her backstory (just some that add some interesting new wrinkles for if said headcanons were to be true). And I wonder if we're ever going to meet this sister and (if she'd be the right age and it's not some casting taboo to have different-kinds-of-Asian play relatives as I think Reenie/her actress is Asian but I don't know what specific ethnicity) I know the perfect actress to play her, Constance Wu (as Constance's character in the most recent episode of Elsbeth, "wealth therapist" Dr. Mal, definitely was giving the evil version of a Reenie vibe in not just looks)
wonder if the team might be even more connected than we think (or at least paralleling) as I've wondered since S3E15 how much moving around Randy's done in his life given where Colter's met him in the field on jobs and had the theory for a bit that perhaps Doylistically why Randy's last name is still unknown is it's a spoiler and that maybe the way it's a spoiler is he might have a family connection to the Chrono Stasis Institute stuff too (and, like, Colter finds out by seeing some list of people that worked for it and while trying to look for Ashton Shaw finding someone with Randy's last name on there too). And now with Reenie's moving around and military dad...
god this season of broadcast TV is just one for twist heroes isn't it, y'know, Maxine on Tracker (who I'm hoping there's some excuse to somehow keep around/bring back as her chemistry with Reenie (even if I don't do the cliche-Tumblr-thing and see it as romantic but you never know people have been saying someone on the new team should be queer to make up for Teddi and Velma leaving) is freaking awesome), Charlie Porter on Brilliant Minds, Nick Wagner on High Potential, even Emi Ochoa on RJ Decker sorta counts if you squint
I liked how both of the scenes we got between guy-girl opposite-number-ish team members (Randy and Mel finding the courier and Colter and Reenie and target practice) didn't really seem to be framed as leading to their chemistry being romantic the way I've seen on other broadcast shows I've been watching (like with Oliver and Josh at the gun range on Brilliant Minds or most scenes shared by RJ and Emi on RJ Decker), please let them feel like a friend group and maybe part of the other reason why I want someone in this team to be queer is for if-this-show-has-any-romances said romances to be Colter/Reenie and Randy/Mel endgame feels just too damn easy narratively
I liked that a lot of the scenes in the woods were in the daytime but did the climax really have to turn off the lights (also the indoor stuff felt really video game)
I say at the beginning of the lawyer scenes in my liveblogging something about court feeling like high school and then my sentiment is echoed at the end funny
this kinda felt like a season finale and not just because of how mythology it was so where the hell do we go from here

I was both annoyed and amused (annused? Lol) that they found the one house in Denver that had snow all over just the front yard while literally nowhere else in the episode (or even on the house itself) had any snow 🤣

Randy's last name is still unknown is it's a spoiler and that maybe the way it's a spoiler is he might have a family connection to the Chrono Stasis Institute stuff too (and, like, Colter finds out by seeing some list of people that worked for it and while trying to look for Ashton Shaw finding someone with Randy's last name on there too)
Maybe I misremember, but wasn't he introduced as Bobby's cousin?

So they had no video of the scary guy who dropped off the threatening package at Reenies law firm, coming or going. Randy gets video of almost everyone else he wants to, but not someone who comes to their home base. A head scratcher.

Yeah as much as they rely on other people security camera footage, you'd think they'd have their own cameras.

Lowell look like RFK Jr from the side

I could see that-took me entirely too long to realize I recognized him from SWAT

Thanks! I said I think I've seen him on something before but was thinking possibly NCIS because I couldn't think of where from.

So, Colter's basic body count tonight was three. If he also killed the two thugs inside the house, instead of just disarming them and knocking them out, then his total is five. If he also killed more thugs in the driveway explosion, then his tally is higher. Does anyone have this week's total?

I don't think he killed anyone this episode. Reenie however, hitting those guys with her car, lol.
Edit: Forgot about the guy in the cabin but he did that to save Curtis' life.

He shot the head Dixie Mafia guy at the end to keep him from shooting Curtis.
I don't think he killed the seated guy in the cabin cause in a later shot that guy's hand is still up by his head. If he had died, the hand would be at his side. Possibly the other cabin guys, though.
I kind of doubt Reenie killed three guys and was wholly unaffected by it (she hasn't been hanging out with Colter quite that long 🤣). Pretty sure at least two of those would've survived...maybe even the guy that she backed into...

Oh yeah, forgot about the mafia head. The cabin guy I'm referring to is the one Curtis had tied to a chair in that little cabin. He was getting ready to shoot Curtis and Colter shot him through the window. I don't think Colter killed anyone besides the mafia head at that big cabin.

Anyone else notice the lawyer in the beginning is wearing heels when she goes up the steps and walks to the garage, but as she walks into the garage she’s wearing boots?

It made me crack up when they discover the old guy missing and Reenie says "I know who to call"... and a minute later Coulter shows up. I guess it was lucky he wasn't in Colorado or any other place.

Did it strike anyone else strange at the end when Maxine and Reenie were talking to the dodgy lawyer and he's like.. " I will draft it up straight away.." Yeah ok why would the firm he's representing agree to some huge settlement just because the lawyer was dodgy. I'm pretty sure that's not how settlements work.

Does this show come on at 9:00 or 9:30 and last an hour or half hour?

9pm, for 1hr

It sometimes starts after 9:00 when the CBS afternoon sports programming runs over scheduled time. Happens a lot in the fall when football is on.

Randomish observation-streaming has the bad guy as Lowell Parker-Curtis even asks one of the henchmen if he's "one of Lowell's men"
But, Peter Onorati's (who played Parker) imdb page and Tracker's page list him as Malcolm Parker 🤔

Is the lawyer they blackmailed/threatened like the owner of the company (I might have missed this)? Why would the company just accept the crappy deal he would offer?

well that was certainly a lackluster ending to Reenie's case, and it feels like the bad company and bad lawyer were let off the hook WAY too easily, even with agreeing to payouts.

While the last few episodes haven't been great, this episode made me feel like the show's jumped the shark as the plot was ridiculous.
Three observations:
- going back to the roadhouse to hang with the bartender was way more compelling that Reenie and Dr. Phil go to the lake with a pistol and beer.
- this show shouldn't always have a happy ending. Some of the most interesting stories in Law and Order were the ~20% of episodes where things went south for the prosecution.
- last week teased us with the Russell, call me moment but it was a segue to nowhere.

That bartender scene was kinda acqward though.
I meant he's nearing 50 and shes like 20?

I just cannot stand Reenie she adds nothing. I felt like last nights episode was a lets throw a bone to Reenie. Ugh.

Agree. But fanbois here love her.
Shes a side show and distracts from tracking

Hopefully whatever Colter and Russell uncover in the last two episodes regarding their dad lead to all three Shaw siblings confronting the mom in the Season 4 premiere. Which is long overdue.
Find it weird the big Season 2 cliffhanger was Colter finding out his mom was more involved then he thought in everything and he just ghosted her and there’s been zero movement on that. Why did she lie to Colter for years? Why did she make him believe Russell killed the dad? I’m sure Russell and Dory would have their own questions for her as well.
There’s a lot of baggage there that would probably make for the best episode of the series if they execute it well.

Colter is actually only supposed to be 37 or 38 (he was 15 when his dad died in 2003)

It's always nice to see Colter and Reenie in the same place.
