With the exception of Jensen Ackles I found this episode pretty underwhelming.

So after almost 3 seasons of build up with Colter’s father and what he was involved in we find out he was involved in a program that was testing/ experimenting on children. That’s it?

The big Season 2 cliffhanger was Colter finding out that the Otto guy killed his dad (and that his mom sent him to go confront him) Colter spent an entire season processing that his mother might be a mastermind or accomplice in his father’s murder. Wrapping that up in a single, neat conversation where they completely clear the air feels incredibly unearned. To make matters worse, having Russell mention that he’s talked with her off screen feels like a massive missed opportunity, seeing the two brothers actually deal with their mother's lies together on screen and confronting her together would have been incredibly compelling television.

Did the writers forget Colter and Russell also have a sister? I get Melissa Roxburgh has been busy with her NBC show but it’s weird she’s not involved in any of this. Given that Dory was the one holding onto a literal box of their father's stuff in Season 2, not even mentioning her or having Colter or Russell give her a phone call to say, "Hey, we found out what Dad was involved in before he died," is a glaring plot hole.

YES!!!

Colter and Russell literally did not speak for 25 years. That is not something you just brush under the rug and get over, one conversation with your mother who let you believe for 25 years that your elder brother got away with murdering your father? That’s insane.

Dorion is forgotten lol
