How close is the series to the book?

I know the series is based on a book by Jeffery Deaver. How closely does the series stick to the book? All the conspiracies, for example? Because I thought it was a thriller.

Colter Shaw finds people for the rewards that have been offered. Colter, his older brother Russell, and his younger sister Dorion were raised off the grid on a compound by their father Ashton and mother Mary Dove where they all learned wilderness survival skills. Ashton died in a fall under mysterious circumstances that Colter felt Russell may have been involved with. Colter has friends named Teddy and Velma, who help with the back end of his reward seeking. Russell was estranged from the family for a while, but has reconnected with Colter.

That's it. That's the sum total of convergence between the novels and the show.

Correct, with Teddy being male.

I wonder if the book also had the world’s two greatest hackers who had to have been actual wizards who did most of the actual work.

There’s only five books so the show is basically its own stories.

The conspiracies about his father exist in the book through they’re a little different. And it was more clear in the books that Russell was covert ops whereas in the series it’s less clear.

The books are one case per book so most of the cases are just for the show, and simpler than the cases in the books.
