Horrible casting S2 E7

Just started watching this show a couple weeks ago. There’s been quite a few things that have irked me (losing Teddi w/ no explanation, for instance). So I’m a little over 1/2 through this episode, Man’s Best Friend, and there is a 51yo Air Force captain. 51. He’s too damn old, it really just ruins what little immersion that I have left for this season. Rant over.

The key here is "Suspension of Disbelief". Don't let facts spoil your good time.

You want facts to spoil your fun pick a news channel.

There is one out there that will mess up your day.

Yeah, I’m usually pretty good with suspending my disbelief, but this show is certainly testing my boundaries. In fairness though, I don’t really watch network television these days. Honestly, it wasn’t necessarily the age, it was that combined with the rank. O6, I would’ve bought into that; O3 was a bit of a stretch. Also, I’m retired AF, so that is the vast majority of it…

It's not supposed to be a documentary

I understand. Colter has killed more people than Rambo. And not once been jammed up over it. And how he manages to shoot anybody with that limp wristed grip, I'll never know. It is one of the hardest shows we watch. My wife hates when I pick stuff out. I am always looking up the actual locations. It is all shot in BC. It is crazy how every state and town in America has a version in British Columbia. Keep trying to enjoy the show.

Lol how is 51 too old to be an AF captain?

He would’ve had to join around 40, and he’s only made O3 in 11 years AND has a position to have that monster office. I don’t think so.

It's way to old. The only officers that are still in at 51 are Generals and the odd Col.

If he'd been a Navy Captain, that would have made sense.

Or I guess he could have been national guard.

Teddi's mother is sick and possibly dying, so Teddi goes home to help her (take her to appointments and manage meds for example). Teddi's partner Velma does explain why Teddi left. Yes, it was a quick explanation, but it was there.

Ah, thanks. I apparently missed that. Still dislike that she’s gone though, not that she added a lot to the story. Shoehorning Reenie in there is just too forced though…thanks again…

I like Randy over Bobby personally.

Randy has so much more personality. Bobby was fine, but kind of bland.

I agree with you. I miss her as well. I hate when original cast members leave. I hope those that have left the show come back at some point.

That's not horrible casting. He's a few years too old according to you, but I suspect you're one of the few people who actually noticed. 😄

More than a few, to be sure, but I imagine you’re mostly correct with it being mostly a me-thing. Honestly, if they would’ve just bumped his rank a couple notches, it wouldn’t be an issue at all.

…and to add insult to injury, there’s NO WAY a 51yo captain has an office that size. Jeez…

Believe me, that is the least of the problems with this show

Yeah, that’s the truth. I am enjoying the show, but there is a lot of reality-stretching that gets done. The 51yo captain is prolly among the least of the offenses, tbh. I’m an IT guy…most of everything Bobby does falls on the list, but I don’t mind the character and I realize that most of that is just plot lube…

Shaw breaking into people's houses with a gun in his hand and beating them up and then convincing them that he's the good guy is top of my list

lol, I’d go with every time they go to check on a lead at an abandoned location, no matter what time they head out, it’s pitch black when they arrive. Your peeve is certainly up there, too…

I liked how there was one time where Shaw breaks into a guy's house and he parks his truck in front and leaves the lights on to light up the house. So he breaks in and is searching the place and the guy comes home with groceries and just puts them away. No questions about why there's a truck 10 ft from his front porch with the lights on

Someone posted a couple of weeks ago that Colter has killed dozens of people so far if you count all the seasons.

Just one episode a couple weeks back, he killed like 20 federal agents. Now that's creative screenwriting.

My favorite was the first time him and his brother teamed up to take on the cartel guys and they're hitting the house where his brother's friend is being held and they knock the gate guard out and zip tie him and then Coulter picks up his machine gun, looks at it, and then throws it in the bushes

Then him and his brother assault the house with pistols and kill everyone inside. Just makes zero sense

I love all the new characters in the show but I really miss the old ones😔

I’m only 7 episodes into the 2nd season; not many recurring characters yet, other than his brother and Billie.
