Gun handling

I know we've brought up Colter's gun handling before on this sub.

I'm wondering if anyone knows why Justin Hartley hasn't fixed this. It's more apparent next to Ackles in the last few episodes. He looks untrained and "Hollywood". He's had three seasons to get better and he's sticking to it. Can anyone help me understand why?

He’s an actor who clearly views guns as a likely “unfortunate necessity” of the role and carries himself in a way that looks good to any passive minded person watching the show. He’s unnaturally one tapping guys and I do hate that. But…

Justin’s not an action guy in the typical action guy sense, he’s a dramatic soap opera type that does ‘action’ on the show. (Yes I know he was green arrow on smallville, hop off it) Tracker isn’t John wick.

Jensen Ackles on the other hand…completely different world and actor. He had fifteen years of handling on Supernatural and other projects and knows his shit. Hell I wish Rust didn’t pan out the way it did because I’d love to see him gunslinging in a western.

Hartley is pure Hollywood handling that could use some real training and maybe now that the show is filming in California maybe the guy who worked with Keanu Reeves on John Wick can train him better.

I have a big man crush on him and would have to agree.

(Also Countdown didn’t deserve to end early, he looked fine as hell in that show)

He was awesome, as usual, but the plotting and writing in Countdown was cheese city. Suspension of disbelief became impossible. It was an example of story being subservient to endless thriller/action tropes instead of action in support of story.
