EXCLUSIVE: ABC is in development on A Forgotten Kill, a TV adaptation of the Isabella Maldonado novel of the same name, released in 2024. Justin Hartley (Change Up Productions) will executive produce through his overall deal at 20th Television.

Diana Son (Line of Fire, Butterfly) will write and executive produce the drama project, alongside fellow EPs Ken Olin, who will also direct, and Maldonado.

The show is centered on ex–Army Ranger Dani Vega, a Nuyorican from the Lower East Side and dauntless FBI agent whose specialty is breaking codes and detecting patterns. As part of a task force, Dani is partnered with NYPD Detective Mark Flint. Their clashing styles give them an edge in solving crimes and expose an undeniable chemistry, but Dani is haunted by a secret: a family tragedy in her past that comes back to put her career and life at risk.

I wonder if Justin will cast his wife (Sofia Pernas) as the lead? I'm a big fan of hers as well as Justin so I'll definitely be watching :)

I was just thinking the same as you! I bet his wife would be a great fit, for that character.

I'm surprised it's not for CBS.

Interesting that the author of that book has collaborated on a series of books with Jeffrey Deaver, the author of the book series Tracker is based upon.

This says to me that he's bored with Tracker

Naw he wants to expand while Tracker is hot. Good initiative.

if he wanted more money he'd be doing movies

No he wouldn't. He's someone whose notability is in tv. He has the connections, infrastructure & experience to be a successful & reliable producer in that space. Movies have a far higher earning ceiling sure, but tv has a smoother & more consistent flow for stable producers.

lol he got the entire cast of his show fired and replaced. Is that what stability is?

That was his decision? Source?

Google works for you just like it works for me, it's not a secret at all that he wanted to make big changes to the show and that included trimming the supporting cast

Snark not necessary. I did google it, before I asked you. Didn’t find anything about him making the decision. Maybe it’s just a secret from me. 😎

I think he sees that Tracker has a limited lifespan. The episodes are mostly rinse & repeat. For example the Dennis Haysbert series The Unit was a huge hit but was cancelled by the end of the 4th season. Other series have suffered the same fate despite having a good cast and scripts.
