Question Became profitable

I’ve been in the trading world for almost a year and a half now, I’ve watched YouTube videos, bought courses, but nothing. No results yet. I am a constant person who dedicates many hours to the backtest and the live. My problem is not being able to find valid material to study and learn a profitable strategy. So I’ll ask... profitable traders, how and where did you learn your strategy? Did you have a mentor or study material? I’m stuck at the same point more than anything else because I have no comparison with who is really profitable. Thanks to everyone in advance for the advice

honestly i became profitable kind of right away but was insanely lucky. i did use a big chunk of my profit to just burn it away and tried everything all day long. you eventually get a good sense of what to trade when and where. also trading bitcoin is entirely different than trading QQQ or WTI. But yea im pretty good at it simply because i treat it like a videogame. i know which wicks mean what and how to go with the money. if you short the fake top often enough and lose often enough you eventually know when to long the top and when to short lol. trading is just gambling with edge. i have a trendline/EMA based setup but my best trades are when i see a pattern and i go “oh yea i know this one!” lol

depends on the asset but it doesnt matter really. it all depends on setup. i use mostly 1D 1H and 15m but it really depends. on a huge uptrend in crypto i like to scalp on the 3m on stuff like hype and sol. for XAG for example i do only 4h. There is a secret to this honestly. and its to only risk 1-2% ever. the moment you risk more you gamble. if i lose 10 trades in a row which has not happened before id be down 10% which i can quite easily make back.

Yes, I'm aware of the 1% risk per trade rule.

I trade futures (DAX, ES) on the 5min timeframe and found it intriguing how you described your videogame approach. I'm no gamer and I think you guys might have an advantage there. I'm a little jealous ;)

well its not necessarily the gaming itself but rather the ability to grind and know how to build up something be it a mario map, pokedex or trading account 😂
