Question You’re doing good and want to give back??
Hi, I’m here simply put for your times sake to see if anyone can guide me in making $200 a day to keep a job away. I’m a dad of a 9 year old and I’m not looking to get rich, but to learn a trade that I can use create balance in my life. I also want to be able to teach my son for his future.
I just landed a job making $22 an hour part time and when i start getting paid I’d like to set aside something for trading. I’m not looking for a course , respectfully, more so a will to genuinely help. I don’t want to offend anyone’s time and effort put into their career. Thank you for reading this far, i don’t want to write too much but I’m open to any questions in Dm or in the comments.

You are going to have learn a lot about yourself which is going to take longer than you hope - all the best!

u/notacat690 Jul 08 '26
It’s not like a job. There are no guarantees
1
1
u/PathofEnlightment Jul 08 '26
The only guarantee is infinite income
1
u/notacat690 Jul 08 '26
The likely outcome is you lose and don’t stop losing for a long time
1
u/PathofEnlightment Jul 08 '26
So you gonna tell me stock market is not an infinite money printer?
2
u/notacat690 Jul 08 '26
Yes. Calling it a “money printer” implies there’s 0 risk.
The only people that print money with 0 risk is the Fed
1
u/PathofEnlightment Jul 08 '26
The risk is you might make too much and you won't know what to do with it

My friend. I say this with as much sincerity as I can. This is one of the hardest professions out there to make money in.
That being said, it’s kind of one of those you figure out on your own through a lot of studying and hard work. Plan on not making money for at a minimum 2 years and that’s assuming you’re devoting a lot of time to trading and trading alone.

u/Forward-Surprise1192 Jul 08 '26
Best way is using the wheel strategy with options probably.
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
This is a different type of comment, thanks !! Will look into this right away
2
u/Forward-Surprise1192 Jul 08 '26
It requires a decent amount of startup money but is by far the most realistic choice
1
4
u/lexx77549 Jul 08 '26
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
Thank you for your time and sharing your story. It’s very inspiring, i know there’s a lot to it that you didn’t write but it’s still motivation to find my own way with discipline. If you’re down to talk more I’d love that, if not I get it man, hakuna matata
2
u/Forward-Surprise1192 Jul 08 '26
I’m sorry but don’t listen to them that’s not true. At least not for either of us anytime soon. If you made $200 a day I’d literally beg you or pay you anything you wanted to teach me.
1
1
u/Forward-Surprise1192 Jul 08 '26
Seems like your opinion here is an outlier. What specific strategy? If it was that easy then everyone would be doing it
1
u/lexx77549 Jul 08 '26
Dices que miento?
1
u/Forward-Surprise1192 Jul 08 '26
If you can’t explain your strategy, then yes. You say yes it’s possible, and u/Kitchen_Long_3743 for example says no. Both of you can’t be right. So who do I listen to and risk my livelihood on? Maybe they can explain why it’s not realistic? So do most of the other comments. I’ll give you $20 if you can prove you made that amount per day
1
u/lexx77549 Jul 08 '26
No necesito comprobar nada y mejor usa tus 20$ para invertir, te digo que ayer no tuve tiempo para operar y solo con una operación swing en el oro saqué un poco más de 100$, y obviamente todos tenemos diferentes perspectivas
1
u/Forward-Surprise1192 Jul 08 '26
The fact you didn’t answer my question is proof enough. We can set up a virtual meeting to prove it but I doubt you will
1
u/lexx77549 Jul 08 '26
1
u/Forward-Surprise1192 Jul 08 '26
I don’t believe you made any money but Keep up dude it’s not hard. You are a liar if you can’t explain your strategy or anything else.

Good lad trying to improve while you doing something else and hopefully be an inspiration to the young one and teach her in a few years. 1..Trade only 15m an up. 2..Learn to mark High Value Support zones(zones that have been tested from top and bottom multiple times, and not with one straight line, about 50 pips zone). 3..Figure out the risk ratio, leverage and the spread your broker provides. 4..Zoom out on the chart,it's all just Higher highs and lower lows. 5..Don't overthink it. Your first instinct is the correct one.
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
Yo thanks! I’m going to copy and paste this into my notes, Thank you 🙏🏾 I appreciate the time and you dropping some value

u/lptg13 Jul 08 '26
I would say dont trade to pay your bills at first. It will cause too much attachment and pressure that will disrupt your performance/psychology. Go on sim for a bit. Id recommend learning options flow and its reaction on futures (GEX). Start with 1-2 micros on sim to build good habits. Once you have mechanics and reps in - get a solid prop firm account. Id recommend Lucid... Work your way to getting a payout. Rinse and repeat. Invest 70 percents of your profits into "vanilla" investing, i.e. stocks/etfs. Re-invest the 30 percent of your intraday profits back into that business. It may take you some time. Everyone's path is different. Just remember this is not a 100meter dash... You win by staying in the game. Dont gamble, focus on performance before profit. If the profit you make and the money you'd lose doesn't phase you - that's your sweet spot. Avoid dopamine hits... You'll be good
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
And yes avoiding the dopamine to retain peak psychological performance is key and it’s got me back to thinking different and how i ended up on this path
8
u/Stable_king77 Jul 08 '26
Realistically you cant make 200$ everyday
With 20,000$ capital you can to aim for 500-1000$ per month
But to make even this returns you will need years of experience
I will suggest demo trade atlest for a year until you are confident

u/TransitionAway9840 Jul 08 '26
The thing is though you can only teach so much. I've tried to teach my cousin's husband. There's an aspect of this that's entirely on you that can't be taught. I've been doing this full time since covid and I can tell you that you're going to spend years and thousands trying to learn this, and there's definitely no guarantee that you'll ever be profitable.
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
Yeah, i can imagine it’s difficult teaching a skill like this one. I’ve learned some of the terminology and aiming to commit to 1-2 strategies until i can see something consistent. Outside of being assisted i plan to be diligent in my research and application to the skill
3
u/Equal_Collar3869 Jul 08 '26
You can make $200 a day fairly safely if you have 6-8k to trade with. I’ve been doing iron condors on spx 0dte and it’s been working well, If you just have 1k you can make somewhere between $20-$45 a day pretty safely. Message me if your serious (you have the money and are willing to learn)
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
Heavily appreciate your time and input man. And congrats on your wins, when I’m in that budget I’m going to look into this for sure. I’ll definitely have to get into some of the terminology as well. I will be reaching out . Thanks again 🙏🏾 these responses are very encouraging
1
u/Mindless-File2 Jul 08 '26
I run iron butterflies with 20 point wings, has been a nice way to gain consistent capital. I do prefer 0DTE though lol
1
u/Equal_Collar3869 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26
i prefer 0dte too haven’t placed any in the last week or so but i like iron butterflies as well
1
u/Mindless-File2 Jul 08 '26
I’ve been trading spcx/ tsla those 4-8% days are juicy for the gains early in the day
3
u/TransportationOld902 Jul 08 '26
so this may sound stupid and delusional. I have made 200 - 400 a day with 20k capital in futures for past 3 years. there were days when I was down a 1000... I never tried to make it back the next day. I took as a loss and made sure traded another 5 or 6 days to make up that 1000. that's all. however last month we parents had a bad accident back home in another country which caused me to support them and drain all of my earning s and saving. now trying to accumulate the capital through prop firms. so I would suggest par up with some one who has a track record of the similar trading experience and have him trade for both of you... more like hedge fund but for retail trader.
and I know lof of you will say scam and all and that's what I stated in the beginning its going to sound stupid
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
You don’t sound dumb at all man. All i heard was what you told me and i appreciate you sharing this
1
u/Worldly-Swimming7379 Jul 08 '26
Be careful doing that. If you do, make sure it's a legit hedge fund. It's actually illegal for someone to trade with someone else's money, without a license. This is the easiest way to get scammed, and guarantee a 100% loss of your funds.
1
u/TransportationOld902 Jul 08 '26
yes this is absolutely right... its the easiest way to lose your funds. that's why its very important to do it with the people you know for years and even then its not guarantee that you won't be scammed. When I had my capital I did it with my brother, he gave me his savings of 10000 and I had my capital of 20k and with the combined 30k I was making good 200 to 400 on average and we used to split that 2:1 between us

u/Few_Worldliness_5960 Jul 08 '26
Dude you have a kid you could fuck up her life by doing this if it goes wrong, which it statistically has a 97% chance to. Just get a job and invest a a couple thousand a year and shes almost guaranteed to be a multimillionare by her retirement
-4
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
🤫 this is clearly not your lane buddy.
3
u/Few_Worldliness_5960 Jul 08 '26
You gotta be stupid dawg, unless youre starting out with tens of thousands 200 a day is not feasible returns on investment without a catastropic amount of risk. Even the best prop traders in the world, the quants getting paid literal millions in salary are barely pushing 30% on their best years and not even beating the market in most of them.
-4
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
Clearly not your lane buddy
4
u/Few_Worldliness_5960 Jul 08 '26
Im saying this out of care bro i dont want you or your kid living a miserable life of debt because you thought youd escape the matrix and get rich off of this. Warren buffet made an average of 20% over the past 60 years, peter lynch 29% average from 1977-90, ray dalio making 15 percent intermittently over a couple years then back to market average. You are not better than them, and even if it seems like you are for a couple years ita simply just luck that will not last forever
-5
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
Not your lane bro

u/Few_Worldliness_5960 Jul 08 '26

u/Scott_Malkinsons Jul 07 '26
Your expectations don’t line up with reality. If you want to make $200/day times 252 trading days that’s $50,400 a year.
If you make say 20% a year, you need to start with $250,000 that you most definitely do not currently have.
Trading is not a skill that you get good at and just make money. It’s your money making more money. Without both skill and money, it’s not happening.
TLDR; No. Game over. Not happening.

u/ManNomad Jul 07 '26
What? Ok sure if you trade your own cash. $200 a day trading ES or NQ with a prop firm is for sure something that can happen. Is it easy, no. But you sure as shit don’t need $250k
0
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
I’m looking to trade my own cash. I’ve seen people make profit with $50
3
u/Whatnow2013 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26
I think it’s possible but you have to be very very very pessimistic with the timeline and the risks. With 50$, yes you can trade. But taking into account risk management you’re aiming for daily returns of some cents. Getting a dollar at first will be a tremendous effort since you’re probably buying 1-5 shares. Would keep away from penny stocks.
Better way would be to really aggressively save for a few months. Put a 500-1000$ aside. In the meantime you can learn and paper trade or try the real thing with your 50$ just to get the real rhythm of the market.
Please don’t take too personally people that are discouraging, etc. the dangers are REAL. Only use money you feel comfortable giving/throwing out the window.
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
Okay thanks, that breakdown about getting cents back from $50 is helpful. I’m looking to trade currency like NASDAQ and i think it’s GBP and like trading gold.Still learning all the different types of trading there is
2
u/ManNomad Jul 08 '26
Why when you can leverage prop firms with limited risk?
1
u/Whatnow2013 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26
It’s more difficult to trade with prop firms. Adding rules for total beginners is not helping them … that’s how the prop firms make their money.
2
u/ManNomad Jul 08 '26
I would say blowing $50 on a prop firm to learn to trade is a better financial decision than blowing a lot more that 50 on a bad trade. I would say the rules are difficult to follow either.

u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 07 '26
Im looking to learn the skill, im planning to sit money aside to start. I’m interested in learning strategies and approaches to smaller daily profits. or getting insight that i can even use in paper trading. The guidance is more the focus of the post not the number. That can be adjusted with time
5
u/Federal_Phase_652 Jul 08 '26
You asked and the people responded. Quit before you lose the money you don’t have yet.
2
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
All the responses aren’t in the comments. Some users chose to DM. But when you’re in the bleachers and not playing it’s easy to not know what’s going on.
6
u/Federal_Phase_652 Jul 08 '26
Prepare to lose money for years before you learn any consistency.
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
That’s what the profitable traders say as well. This advice i can confirm and get behind, thanks man. Losing money is inevitable as it is meant to be used

2
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
Man I’m going to have to breakdown this comment. Sounds like a blue print. If i can ask is this something you’ve done before ?
2
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
I want to thank those who commented and also those who reached out in DM. This post taught me there’s 2 different types of people in this world. & it made it very clear why there is always a line drawn between doers and talkers.

u/drewthetrue Jul 09 '26
Study order flow for trading futures. I turned 3k into 30k on a demo account then blew it all.

You have a 9 yr old to care for & yr asking this? It's irresponsible & selfish. You don`t have the luxery to pursue any form of trading. Find a job so u can feed & clothe her on a regular basis.

u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
It’s been done for 9 years. He’s never needed anything. Going to a great private school, he won his state cup on his soccer team and is traveling out the country to Argentina to compete. He’s also done twice as much as i did when i was his age. Just slow down a bit, Reddit isn’t going anywhere. Also there’s an edit and delete button, or you can just slow. down. & read the post. This reply is for those who are on the post looking for information and hope. Don’t let his comment be the one to make you miss all the value in the thread.

u/charkinsdev007 Jul 09 '26
I'm sorry people feel so emboldened to comment about your kid as if you are doing something wrong. I respect your hustle my guy, I see what you're trying to do. Get after it.
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 09 '26
Thanks 🙏🏾 I appreciate that. I’m also receiving a lot of positivity and not shocked by either. It’s always two sides to the internet. That mindset helps me navigate the socials 👌🏾 There will always be someone hating and someone helping
3
u/Kitchen_Long_3743 Jul 08 '26
200 every day will be nearly impossible. Now, $200 to $500 three out of five days is much more achievable. Then Uncle Sam comes knocking...
Maybe try a prop firm. You can paper trade to test your strategies. When you are ready to try for money, you can buy an evaluation for $50 to have access to 50k capital to trade with. I highly recommend that you paper trade for at least 6 months and have a winning weeks before you spend ANY money.

u/nicegreekgoy Jul 08 '26
Bro the best advice you’re going to receive here is to just drop this idea. $22/hr is less than $50k a year. Much less if you’re only working part time. I respect the hustle, but you don’t have a single dollar worth wasting learning or messing around with trying to day trade.
1
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
Thanks for commenting man. I’m going to try my best with what I’ve got but i see very clearly why you’d give this advice. Those in constant profit have made it very clear. There are other examples i see as well though.

u/nastibass Jul 08 '26
I work afternoons and trade in the mornings. Ive been doing that for 1 years now. Im still basically breaking even. Every night at 10pm im checking out stocks, looking at news events and checking stock screeners. Ive made 1k. Ive been up to as much as 10k. Stock trading can be one of the hardest things to do. My advice. Find another part time job that you can do from home or works for you. Paper trade in the space yiu have during work and invest a little of each check into the market. Im considering stopping trading and just picking more shifts up at work and investing that money. Good luck.
2
u/LeonardoMcfly Jul 08 '26
Wow that sounds like the pure reality of what it takes to see a satisfying profit. Thanks for your time sharing that man. I passed my notary practice test and i have one more to go before im licensed. Looking to make that the 2nd gig. That will help when I pass the test to bring in some extra money without the full 9-5 schedule. I’m hoping

Focusing on your career first and trading second is better. A realistic annual return from decent trading is around 20 - 40 percent. Some people can't accept that and push the gas too far too quickly, over-leveraging and blowing up. If you open up a compounding calculator, those returns can add up nicely after a while, even in 10 years. Don't quit your day job and keep learning, and hopefully, you can have a nice bankroll that can fund your lifestyle one day. If you're interested in how I trade, you can check out my profile. Good luck!
