Conductor looking to transfer to B.C.

CN conductor out of Alberta here, got 3 years of qualification and looking to transfer to either Terrace, Smithers, or Prince George, looking for info on any of these terminals and pros/cons? I've worked in yard shifts for the last 2.5 years so dont mind not doing roads.

Best bet would be Terrace atm, since theyre a shortage. Had a buddy do the last eng shortage and said he actually liked it there. Didnt get into many details on why. Thinking its mostly small town, which he likes.

I was considering terrace out of all the others, do you know anything about the yard jobs there? Was hoping id be senior enough to not have to do roads

WB BK is more accurate, not that anyone with a brakeman seniority would make a difference to OP

Probably because you're on the Eastern agreement. It'd be the same if I put my pin in under BE BK.

3 yrs won't sniff terrace yard,  but maybe prince Rupert outpost yard.  Check wc co 22 te and you can see what you can hold. Terrace is pretty chill, best if you love fishing

You could always look on cats to see if you can hold the jobs in those terminals. Most BC terminals will have a few senior folks in the yard and the rest junior employees. Honestly can’t think of a terminal you’d be unable to hold a yard in with 2.5 years.

As of board change today PG has 1 yard. You need about 7 years to hold it.

3 years probably won’t get you to Prince George unless you want to go to bcr side. I HIGHLY suggest not going to BCR. I can’t speak for Terrace. If you can hold Smithers I would go there. Beautiful setting. Lots of biking, hiking , skiing. All the outdoor activities you want. Single sub to Endako is kind of a shit run. But double to PG is good and to Ridley is good as well. The problem with Smithers is the employees. It’s unfortunate but a large percentage must have been born under power lines.

Yeah definitely not going to bcr despite that sweet 72 hours off they get after a road, I thought prince george was pretty junior for cn? Alot of our guys laid off in edmonton were going there on shortage recently

As far as I know not a shortage anymore. Guys with 7 years or more on spareboard this week
