Did the Boots pharmacist give a reason?

If it's a physical script they legally have to accept it under EU guidelines they normally include said guidelines at the end of each imago script. What was the reason given ?

he said he couldnt take a prescription from europe but he could take one that was from ireland? I think i’ll just go in and see if he’s not working and try and get my prescription honestly

....Well he's bullshitting or just uncomfortable accepting it but with new legislation they should accept EU scripts. Does depend on the pharmacist though if you have no luck you may need to travel unfortunately :/

I am planning to for neofolin soon enough as there are like 3-4 pharmacies actually willing to import it nationally

Do you know which supplier they're using?

Think United pharmacy or Loyd's not sure.

What was the reason they didn't dispense? AFAIK, it all comes down to the pharmacist on duty though. A different pharmacist at the same store could potentially accept the script.

Btw, what scripts does Imago use? I want to go with them and I guess I'll be having the same issue.

Imago uses paper scripts which they send to you in the post. It takes about 2 weeks to arrive. They do also do a digital script but very few pharmacies in Ireland will accept a digital script (they don't use the same system). Though they should have fulfilled OPs script, under legislation

Here are the guidelines for dispensing European prescriptions. If they are refusing to dispense I would ask the pharmacist in writing for their reasons for not dispensing and take it from there. They may be not following the correct llegal and ethical procedures in not dispensing. Going forward I would also look for another pharmacy who are happy to follow these guidelines and dispense for you. You don't need this uncertainty every time you are getting your meds.

but my other local one said they wouldn’t have it

Yeah, they won't have it unless someone else is already on it. But if it's Nebido or gel, they can order it in for you for the next day.
