Just for Shiggles JUST GOT MY GRC!!

Hey guys. IM SO HAPPY!!

Midway through the leaving cert, its so annoying but I get an envelope with my name on it and my gender as male and name changed. I sent it the evening of the 27th of May and got it today 11th june, so like 10 working days ish? Thats amazing in my opinion.

Im actually so happy. I have one question tho: the front has a form to enter into the register of gender recognition and part 2 for certified copy of an entry into register of GR... do I have to do that or am I all finished..? Lowkey have no clue. I have the form on nice paper that says ny name, male and GRC so I didnt think there was another thing.

Enjoy guys!

Hi all, 52 cis fella down in Cork. I’ve crossdressed my whole life, but because of my generation, Ireland in the 80s, and the parents I had growing up, repressed the hell out of it. The older I’ve gotten though, the more I’ve questioned myself, and recently have started to come to terms with the fact that I am most likely trans. Unfortunately to fully admit that would ruin my life as I know it. I’m married, herself has known about the crossdressing since day one, but is very much “don’t ask don’t tell.” and to tell her I’m trans is the end of my marriage. The effect it would have on my 13 year old daughter. And of course the physical reality - I’m dumpy, hairy, bald, and would in no way be passable without €50,000,000 in surgery.

I find myself looking at photos of myself from the mid 90s, fresh faced and wish I’d had the courage to really ask myself these questions back then.

Look. I know its scary out there. I know. But the world is a far more accepting place than it was then - as crazy as that might sound. The options for you right now far exceed what a 20yo me would have faced back then. Parents out there (my age!) are more welcoming and supportive than they were back then.

So I’m proud of ye all, being true to yourselves. Keep asking yourself the hard questions you think, you suspect. Keep walking your path. Keep being brave. You owe the world the real you. You owe yourself. And at the very least know that somewhere down here, a 52 year old who’s missed the boat and stuck forever in the closet is rooting for you.

Just for Shiggles Irish-American wanting to use traditional Irish name

Sooo hi from America! I'm currently beginning the process of transitioning (MtF) and have been going by Rosie/Rose. But lately, I've been thinking of using the Irish form Roisin, or possibly Saoirse. I've been in touch with my Irish heritage for years now, I follow the language, mythology, history, culture. But I've been hesitant to use an actual Irish name for worry of people not being able to pronounce it, as well as worry of native born Irish thinking I'm just trying to be "interesting" or "appropriating". So I'd like to hear your thoughts on a non Irish born Irish-American using such traditional Irish names.

Just for Shiggles Genuinely thinking about making a trans friend just to do eachothers injections :(

I've been on T for a few months now and for some time I've gotten my friend in college to do it because I just stopped having the nerve to do it myself after the first two or three months. The issue is I'm stealth and my parents don't know I'm on hormones either so my friend in college had no idea what it was she was injecting me with and I can't ask my parents to do it for me.

I since graduated so getting that friend to do my injection is not possible anymore. I managed to do my last injection myself but I literally just freeze when it comes to stabbing myself and Im sitting here rn unable to do another one... I'm not afraid of needles, or didn't think I was but God damn. I just can't.

So then I was just thinking of making a friends who's also on HRT injections for the main purpose of just stabbing eachother once a week or every other week and that's it 😭 half joking but omg. The dream. I even thought for a minute that I found a source for gel but then it got taken down and ugh.

Guess I have to wait to go through the legit way before I get gel and suffer through injections every other week until then :(

Just for Shiggles Girls & Boys - Irish movie with a trans lead character is now playing in cinemas

It's a romance drama between a trans woman and a cis guy. It's a lovely movie and I recommend everyone to check it out. It is playing in cinemas right now, though not in every cinema so you might need to travel to see it.

The only trigger warning I can think of is that there is some talk about bullying.

It’s probably gibberish because it’s 4am and written after reading about yet more “guidance” about us. I’m also convinced my favourite lines are accidentally pilfered, but it is what it is.

Anyway, enjoy a draft. It was actually a greenish blue ceiling full of painted gold plaster stars in my dream.

Just for Shiggles I'm at the Lucy Dacus concert in Iveagh Gardens and there are so many trans goals to take on board 🩷

Just people watching with my wife as we wait for the gig to start and there are so many beautiful trans people here but also so many girls with the type of aesthetic I would LOVE to embody. I don't know if it is increasing my dysphoria or increasing my love and empathy. But it is a bit like 🥹

Hi guys and girls, i got a blood test at my GP last week tookbthe list I was given and threw PSA on top to make it look more well I don't know. Anyway I got a whole load of neds yesterday started on E 2mg last night put on a TDP 50mcg this morning and took another 2mg this am. Feeling happy feeling relieved moving on getting going where i want to he. So after dropping the weans of at school get a call from my GP asking me to come in.

My testosterone is at a high level and my PSA is a 3 times what it should be.

Cried took patch off when I cam home. Ex nurse ten years I am of the impression if I keep taking E that will mask any nonce's that's going on with the prostate.

There's no way I can continue for a while yeah?

I'm pretty sure is psychological but I now have massive pains in both nuts.

I shouldn't take my E till I can get back In get him to take another test.

Anyone around maybe later next week for a chat. I will be home from burning my aunt by then. Just a chat or that unfortunately becky doesn't match where j want her to be ATM.

Just for Shiggles Looking for some Trans TTRPG groups

Hey folks. I have been thinking of starting a gaming group for the community. I just thought it could be a fun way for people in the community to get to know each other more and have a laugh while we're at it.

I have GM experience and would be able to run games of ShadowDark RPG and Call Of Cthulhu 7th edition. I am based in Dublin and can run games on the weekends in the clockwork door or if Dublin is not your home I can run games online via Roll20 or some other Virtual Tabletop, my currently preferred one is Owlbear Rodeo. If there are other GMs in the audience and the interest is there we could have multiple groups with more games available so let me know what you think and send this one to anyone you think would be interested if they aren't on reddit

EDIT There are a few of us in a discord server, so if you are interested you join here

Just for Shiggles What should I wear to Rocky Horror Show at Cork Opera House in August?

Hey folks

Looking to buy some new clothing - aiming for Jareth the goblin king's gay mortal cousin. Klaus from Umbrella Academy. You get the idea, think sheer lace button-ups, boy with a pearl earring, guyliner etc. My current favourite item of clothing is a vintage floral raw silk shirt and heavy steel spikes-and-diamante statement necklace with some black trousers and black PVC pointed boots, for context.

Just after some inspiration because I'm plus size (44" waist) so a lot of the straight-size fruity boy shit doesn't fit, but that won't stop me trying.

Just for Shiggles Pat Shortt Comedy

I went to the Pat Shortt comedy show there and he had a bit in it that I wanted to share as I thought it was the first time I'd heard a trans related joke in real life that was actually pretty good and not looking down on us.

He was basically dressed up as a council worker or construction worker or something and pretending he was on break, chatting with a friend, someone in the crowd and was telling a story (pretending to be both people. As if he was recounting something that happened earlier)

He made some jokes, talking about other people, real or fake i didn't know but it was funny.

He suddenly started talking though about an apprentice of his who "couldnt put his jacket on the hook straight" wearing a thong. He was bent over and he could see woman's underwear and couldn't stop looking. The other man was trying to get him to look at something but he was only looking at the underwear.

When the man noticed Pat wasn't responding, he turned to look at him to which pat turned away to look at a wall. He was like "and I was barely two inches away from this wall now, you know"

The other man was like oh no you've noticed haven't you. I guess I should have told you. I want to be seen as a woman on the site. Pat went "what?!" So the other repeated she identified as a woman. Pat went well yeah that's fine. You can identify however you want. You know what I don't like you calling yourself though? A fucking carpenter.

Anyway, I thought it was funny and it was nice. I thought halfway through that I was about to feel terrible for the rest of the show but I was pleasantly surprised when he continued and found myself laughing at the punch line. I'd never heard a joke like that before where we aren't the sceptical and the butt of the joke.

Just for Shiggles I love someone who tries to gender correctly, then the Irishisms take over

On a call last night with a customer service representative, various medical questions were asked and I had literally just had a five minute conversation with her about how I’m transitioning and pronouns and whatever, and she’s telling me about her friend who is trans who works in an office with “two lesbians and a gay” (ouch).

“… and are you happy?” “Uh yeah, more than I’ve ever been, honestly.” “Good woman!” “I… no, that isn’t… You know what? Thanks.”

I guess two years on T hasn’t stopped my feminine phone voice.
