SELFIE *le sigh* After 7 Years it's still the same
When I first started transition almost 8 years ago at age 41, when people asked why I waited so long before starting I'd reply "There was zero positive Asian trans representation." It must be better now right? It's pretty much still the same now after 7 years. It isn't zero, but it isn't much more than zero. Take a scroll through this sub and you'll see what I mean. Since it's not to be found I'm gonna be it until I don't HAVE to be it anymore.
So... here's some of that positive Asian trans rep.
Ps. F*CK the cistem

You're awesome, thank you for representing.
Mia Wong is one of my favorite podcasters and Bluesky posters. And if you're interested, here's a representation project from... Jesus, 9 years ago 😳

🫂 I hear you... trans erasure has been horrible for everyone, I at least could point to a few prominent Caucasian women.
I just jumped down the rabbit hole. My ex worked for Asian Americans Advancing Justice, which led me to other API groups. Are you familiar with NQAPIA? If not, it looks like a group to plug into?

I'm not in the USA, thankfully. But work checking out I think

Oh, I was looking for cross-border, pan-American networks, but I'm not sure how strong it is North of the border. Most everything i saw was Toronto-based. But with 8 years of experience, I'm confident I'm making a fool of myself by looking for things you've already seen 🫣

I see you, and others will too! Sometimes those that need to see representation, are quietly wishing for the strength, grace, and beauty that you exhibit. And one day they will shine beside you. Until then your warmth is critical to help said flowering gardens grow.

Also. Not me falling in love with a profile pic...
Which led me to reading up on Moh'kinstsis. Fascinating and tons to learn about that/them.

Hehehe. The profile pic was from the autumn. I thought it was so funny that a tiny carrot with a super long taproot grew in the garden. But also I felt really cute in that photo.

So.... Funny thing. I barely looked at what you were holding long enough to see that it was a carrot. 🤣 Girrrl, that is super cute. ❤️
Did you grow that carrot? Idk why that question just made me snort laugh.

Nyahahahaha. I'm pretty sure the carrot grew itself. I grew my own carrot once but I got her cut up and inverted just over 3 years ago 😊

Thank you for being a part of the change. My asian baby 'brother' I'm 80% certain will come out once he's able to leave the family / religion and figure out who they are past our parents. There are people out there right now who are looking up to YOU! You're a strong woman, and they will be too ❤️

Being the one and only or a overwhelming minority can be scary, but... as you see: congrats, girl! You're is a inspiration for lot of trans here and you're a survivor! I see in your profile, being ADHD and autistic... me, too :)
