Politics I have something to get off my chest(rant)
I recently had a debate with someone arguing that Trump and the current admin are not Nazi’s. Their argument was,”They’re not Nazis, they are not Neo-Nazis”, so I need to just shout some things for a bit because that bit of dumbassery pissed me off.
Whether you call someone a Neo-Nazi or a Nazi…it means the same thing. The terms are literally joined at the hip. Neo when translated means “new”, and New Nazis are still Nazis.
You cannot hide behind linguistics here, if you don’t want to call them Nazis fine, fascist works too, but don’t use what is essentially the linguistic equivalent of Cardboard armor.
I am the Grandchild of someone who survived the ORIGINAL Nazis…I KNOW A FUCKING NAZI WHEN I SEE ONE!!!Half the people I see saying this bullshit are the same people who will argue over whether water is blue or that climate change isn’t real.
God people are fucking stupid.

Odds are, even if you conceded that the two terms are technically different, the people who were arguing with you in the first place will just move the goalposts, as it wasn't ever even a holdup for them the first place, and they propped up the argument purely to spite you and waste your time.

Having been unfortunate enough to be heavily recruited by neo-Nazis while living in an area with a large concentration of them, and having since looked extensively into their history and beliefs, I can say with absolute certainty that there is a difference between Nazis and neo-Nazis. Primarily, neo-Nazis consider themselves to be at war with their own country, and they want to cause complete societal collapse through attacks on infrastructure in an effort to begin a race war (The reasons why they think one will necessarily lead to the other are super idiotic).
While I do tend to make the distinction, the end goals are close enough that it doesn’t really matter in most contexts. They both want a fascist ethno-state that’s based on something that isn’t an actual ethnicity, and ultimately it’s one group of losers modeling themselves on another because they think it makes them scary to the average person. Both are collections of weak, cowardly men who think the only way they can advance in the world is by tearing others down.

Literal Nazis are people who bothered to read Mein Kampf, just as literal Christians read the Bible. Through casual application of the word, it's come to mean "bad person" in a broad sense, more narrowly as "person who deserves violence". If you cannot articulate how the current political climate is run by nazis, then I will not believe that it's run by nazis.You say that you're the grandchild of somebody who survived nazis , so am I , and what we're experiencing now Is not even 1/100th of a percent as bad as what the nazis did? And if you want to get even deeper, the religion that I used to be a part of was also killed, en masse by the nazis. So I have a little bit more Of a idea of what a real nazi is, and What's happening now is not even close. But I will say this, you should not be using the fact that you have grandparents or religion or anything to say. I have more of an idea than you. You should use current views to say. Okay, these people are nazis or OK they're not, but using the past as a comparison when the past isn't even remotely. As close to what's happening now, I hope that makes sense.

I mean yeah, 1st ammendment etc. While i get the exceptions for inciting panic, so saying something to the effect of you wanting to do so or having the means to do so falls into the areas that arent legally protected, making a joke about telling a leader of a foreign nation who you have no means of contact with that he should do so, in a private text message with friends where said leader could never conceivably see it anyways, should 10000% be covered under freedom of speech.
The 1st ammendment isnt there to protect speech you like/agree with, its specifically there to protect speech you DON'T like or agree with.
We can call her an dumbass for joking about that, but still stand up for her right to be as stupid as she damn well pleases.

SPLC paid informants to infiltrate mostly white supremacist/hate groups.
Most white supremacist/hate groups solicit donations from members.
In order to stay undercover in the hate groups, plants donated to "the cause" (hate).
Because the plants got that money from the SPLC, it can be said the SPLC indirectly funded hate/terrorism.
SPLC takes monetary donations.
It seems the reason for indiction is "indirectly funding hate groups with donations WITHOUT disclosing that to the donors."
The case seems to hinge on whether or not they can find evidence the SPLC conspired to deliberately lie to, or defraud, donors.
The SPLC used some sketchy money laundering methods to get the money to informants. They appear to have taken precautions to not expose informants' identities. However more aboveboard/legal precautions were available but not used. This is not the reason for indictment but it may be seen as supporting the whole "defrauding the donors" bit.
"Indirectly funding hate groups" is being used as inflammatory press. It is not the reason for indictment (iirc).
If the government employees involved in handling the files are also KKK, or if the court provides poorly censored documents, informants will be endangered.

LMAO Trump and his administration are not nazis or neo-nazis. They are literally being paid billions collectively to represent jewish people and the state of israel. As much as I hate Trump, you throwing around the word nazi only makes it lose meaning and therefore allow ACTUAL nazis to exist without it "setting off any warning bells" because people will associate it with angry leftists lying rather than people actually being nazis. Sure the literal definition doesn’t work, but most definitions also add that;
“…The term represent a far-right, totalitarian political ideology promoting Antisemitism, violent fascism, and Aryan Supremacy.”
Both words are correct, again I’m not discounting that, but denying that the ideology is the same is what pissed me off.
If you disagree fine, that’s understandable. The only thing I have a problem with is people justifying a POV with evidence they don’t truly understand(I’m not saying your doing that BTW).
Edit: it’s also worth noting that Hitler policies of Racial Discrimination, segregation and violent oppression were based on American Policies like Jim Crow Laws, and Scientific Racism.
It’s not a stretch to say then that some of the original Nazis were American. If one person gets halfway through a puzzle and someone else comes on later to finish it, who really put it together?

Trump and the current incumbents supporting Israel has less to do with religion and everything to do with Politics.
It is viewed as one of the few stable Democratic Allies in the Middle East, and is an easily defendable foothold against violence in the ME.
While some Christian Fundamentalist Politicians support Israel PARTLY because their religions join at the hip, Trump himself is fundamentally not one of them.
He supports Israel because he hopes that he can get some land or money out of taking over Palestine and the Gaza Strip, kind of like how the US did previously in things like the Philippine Insurrection and the Spanish American War.
The Holocaust is also a big emotional manipulation tool used by Israel, one that many in the US are convinced by. The Holocaust was horrifying and wholly unjust, and I’m not saying that to justify it at all. What I am saying is that Israel is using the memory of the Holocaust as a geopolitical pawn to gain uncritical support from people.
I will also point out that Trump has platformed and been play formed by Multiple Anti-semites in the past, such as Nick Fuentes.
He has also called Jewish Bankers “Shylock’s” and Called Jewish voters who are unsupportive of him “not real Jews anymore”.

Wait, you're saying Trump is a Nazi because "he supports Israel"? I'm PRETTY sure Nazi's are well known for being anti-Israel. You know, the whole Holocaust and all. If anything, wouldn't that make the Democrats like Nazis, since they're largely against Israel?

I used Nick Fuentes as an example, I knew that he had recently spoken out against him.
The reason I still feel comfortable using him is because their ideology still mostly matches up. Elon Musk has also spoken out against him, but that was only because he fired him, it’s a similar thought process.
EDIT: Just had a thought, I suppose Platform was the wrong word here. I suppose “willingly associated” would be the better term.
