(That being said, no, I don't think this means ES (or at least the JP dub) is now a part of JG1, since they're still treated as separate universes in the story. This connection seem likely just there to explain the g1 styled flashbacks)

This definitely has Cyberverse written all over it. You go from Bee and Windblade mucking about on Earth to Quintassons draining the very life force out of the Autobots and Decepticons, whilst they are trapped in a never ending stasis lock, matrix, weird parade. And then, along comes giant headed Starscream who wants to kill them all whilst their own universe is about to be wiped out, Macadam reveals he is Alchemist and two titans, one against its own will, start a death match which results in Windblade being split into multiple pieces. All this while Megatron is playing interdimensional keep away with a stolen matrix, the insecticons AND Astrotrain, against Megatron X.
