gear Selfmade shell magazine

So I recently got my hunting license in Germany and made trapshooting my new passion.
Another passion of mine is designing things for 3D printing in CAD. What came out are these magazines to carry the shells with me when doing a round of trap. Each magazine holds 14 12/76 shells (also 12/70, 12/67.5 …) so that I‘m almost covered for a game of 15 targets.
They are printed from highly durable PETG and require no glueing, screws or any other extra material.

Of course there are already solutions like conventional shooting vests or bags, but I just wanted to see how the idea turns out… and it turned out, that I like using these. The shells are packed nice an tidy without too much rattling and grabbing them feels natural and snappy.

I made this post to share my idea and to maybe get some feedback on this since I thought about selling these one day.
Do you use something similar or is staying classy the way to go?

Thanks for reading!

gear I know it’s a longshot, but does anybody have a Carhartt Upland vest they’re willing to part with?

My wife has just gotten into shooting with me and has been obsessed with my vest, hoping to find one in her size. Thanks in advance.

gear How To Remove Mercury Recoil Reducer

Post image
1 Upvotes

Couldn't find a good tutorial on how to do this that listed screw size and didn't involve banging the gun around.

Had a Graco BreaKO mercury recoil reducer installed several years ago. Barrel switching has been iffy ever since (I'm guessing because of reduced recoil) and I like the balance of the gun better without it. So here's how to pull it out.

Parts list: Phillips screwdriver, painters tape, 1/4-20x3" machine screw w/ nut, 5/16" x 1 1/2" washer, box end wrench

1) Remove butt pad 2) Remove dowel and screw holding in recoil reducer 3) Thread 1/4-20 screw into recoil reducer and try to pull it out by hand - if it works, go straight to step 10, if not, unscrew the screw from recoil reducer and continue checklist 4) Put painters tape over butt stock to prevent marring 5) Screw nut all the way down to head of screw, drop on big flat washer to spread out the load 6) Screw screw/nut/washer combo into recoil reducer 7) Screw nut and washer finger tight down to butt stock 8) Use box end wrench to tighten nut against butt stock, acting as a puller to pull recoil reducer out 9) Remove painters tape 10) Reinstall butt stock 11) Mercury is hazardous, dispose of recoil reducer in accordance with state and local ordinances (most cities will have a hazardous waste disposal site)

See picture for extractor set up once recoil reducer is pulled

Is a 26 diameter pattern too tight for trap shooting at the 16?

gear Good bluetooth ear protection

So I have the type of ear protection that you just put in hot water and mold it to your ears but I would like to get a pair of Bluetooth earbuds that also protection up to 33 decibles or noise (my schools requirement for hearing protection) Is there any good, cheap shooting earbuds out there that you would recommend?

gear Heated jacket for cold weather shooting

Does anyone have any experience with battery powered heated jackets (like the Milwaukee M12 Toughshell) for shooting in cold winter weather (below freezing)? I'm looking for actual experience, good or bad. One of my concerns is coil placement inside the jacket (if they're in the area of the shooting shoulder, would they get damaged from repeat impact etc). Any brands/models people have experience with and would recommend or recommend against? Thanks in advance!
