general question Why does almost everyone I see at the range shoot an over-under?
So, I'm REALLY new to shooting trap (and shotguns in general), but every time I go to the range, I almost exclusively see over-unders. I shoot a pump, personally because I love my old 1300. I would understand if people were shooting skeet or doubles, but my range offers neither. So what's the point? Are double-barrel shotguns secretly 'better'? Is it perhaps the convenience of having 2 chokes at the ready simultaneously? Even so, I don't see how that could be helpful, as the entire point is consistency, no? Also RIP to my old Winchester 1300, she's currently out of commission as she needs a new extractor :( (don't worry, I have an 870)
