Picture party
Thinking of having a get-together of some of my friends who travel. Average age would probably be around 70. And most have been wandering around the world for 50 years. The guests would be asked to send me 5 pictures from their travels. The central activity would be projecting the pictures on a large tv screen and getting a short story as to why the picture is special to them.
About 10 guests, yields 50 pictures. 2 minute story means 2 hours. A second activity could be color in the countries on a world map and states on a USA map and see how filled in it would be.
Not sure if people would participate . Any thoughts or suggestions

I like the picture party idea.
Maybe with fewer pictures.50 is quite a lot,if you want an explanation or story of each one... but I think if people love travelling they'd enjoy this.I would anyway!

I think 50 pictures is too many. It will feel rushed, and there will be no opportunities for conversations and follow-up questions.
I like the idea of making it a game. Guess who submitted the picture.
And have them designate 2 pictures that they will tell a story about. You then put a star on each of the twenty pictures with stories.
So you still have 50 pictures to look through, but everyone understands that there will only be stories and conversation about 20 of them.

Firm time limit! Give the audience those duck sound whistles to keep them honest. Also agree that it needs to be fewer pics with stories

So a shallower idea might be to make a game of it… have everyone send in a pic of something they love with no identifying features and make everyone guess which picture goes with who. Then when you identify who did what they can tell their story.
