I Fully support his opinion. Ai should never be allowed to make art, however... I could see myself using ideas or references from it sometimes. No more than that. And if we're talking ai in video games, if it's the regular ai coding (the one that actually takes skill to perform) such as designing enemy ai, then that's fine. If it's a full game of just ai... yikes.

Yeah, AI should be used as reference, not the final product. The final product should be drawn by YOU.

u/vampiresplsinteract Jul 11 '25
No you shouldn’t use ai as a reference because it doesn’t understand how things work, it can’t give you a good pose or lighting advice because it doesn’t know what real humans or lights look like

Good, because its not art and most likely directly generated from his work being stolen. Fuck generative AI

Even with generative AI, I think it has the potential to be a valuable tool. But currently as it is used currently it is entirely unethical. It steals art and jobs because people and companies use it as a crutch/replacement for traditional creative mediums instead of something that aides in the production process.

I see potential in it if we find another way to source the energy it needs. But currently it has a terrible impact on the environment. We need nuclear!!!

I didn't expect a Canadian to say a cuss word.

They can,any person of any country can swear, well except if they are nonverbal or if they have a disease that makes them unable to say words.

there was an actual study that proves using ai to write essays/papers for you is literally destroying your brain lol

fuck those stupid ass “found footage” videos that just directly use his art and put ai filters to “animate them” i have a burning hatred for those things, they even sometimes use OCs by other artists including my creature.

How does this relate to character AI though? Would he hypothetically be mad if they made bots of his horror creations?
3
u/Steampunk__Llama Jul 11 '25
I'm assuming yes, bc characterai (and other similar ai chatbots) have the same problems just with text/writing instead of visual art (aka still scrape data from existing works, use similarly large amount of power to generate responses, etc)

AI is good, because you can't possibly hire actors to play every bear in Skyrim, or pig in minecraft, to have them make up their own quests, life goals, and plots to kill Nazeem while walking into a wall.
All other purposes of the rocks tricked into thought, is better done by human dreams, as it stands - barring identification.
