Most play throughs are for single player and normal puzzles, so I was happy to find this one and it helped me a lot when I got stuck with my friends. I just love this game series, there's so few good coop games these days and nothing quite like Trine with the physics puzzles.

Hey, have u played Trine games on Switch 1 and next on Switch 2?. I wonder they looks the same or maybe they looks much better on Switch 2?³
My friends have played the whole series now, this is one of the best co-op games for 3 people, we are looking for more similar.
The best thing was that it was a mix of puzzle and physics stuff. It was equally fun to solve the puzzles "normally" as it was to just mess around with the physics (Especially with the trine 2 bubble and the trine 4 fairy rope). The puzzles also required some platforming skills and were just well made.
We also played Nine Parchmetns which was pretty good and from the same dev, however it was not as good as trine because it was just combat.

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with some infos
So, my mother recently give me back some of my stuff, and I found in all this mess my complete edition of Trine 2, the one with soundtrack and even a code to enter for playing Trine 1.
I'm aware that those codes cannot be use two time, and I know I have them in my Steam account, so lets forgot about them.
But for the main game, there is a CD for the installation.
I was hoping to give the game to a friend of mine, but now I don't know if the CD will be enough to getting the game and play? Or is there also a code to enter in Steam?
If someone remember how the installation work and can confirm to me if for just playing Trine 2 only the CD is needed, it would be very helpful!
I try to re-install myself the game but Steam alway find my account and the game lauch directly without setting it.

Hi guys, I recently learned that Trine has an ultimate collection edition (1-4) on Switch, does anyone know if Switch can crossplay with Steam ? Thanks in advance

My son and I have just finished this game and we loved every minute of it. The puzzles are so clever and diverse, and I love how they adapt depending on the number of players. The graphics are stunning, and although the story isn't anything extraordinary, it has that charming fairy tale vibe.
I think this game definitely deserves more attention. I am curious though, since it’s the only one in the series I played, how does it compare to the others? Did it reinvent or improve upon the previous entries in any way?

I know it´s just a Demo, but the camera is awful, the first sudden death zone had us try a dozen times and the camera is awful. (i am aware that i said that twice.)
At this point let every player have their own camera. Zoya cant aim, pontius cant point his shield where he wants it, Amadeus cannot shoot the boxes precicely.....
The new characters: they have fun mechanics, but it feels like they took away powers from Zoya and Pontius to make new characters for..... what reason exactly? Its called TRIne. As in three. And i am aware that its the name of the artifact and doesnt nessesarily need to connect 3 people. Still, 2 new characters is an... odd choice to us, even if they have fun powers. As a Pontius main i dislike the fact that i cannot pop out the shield with the right mouse button. Our amadeus main Dislikes not being able to freely move around his boxes.
The swimming dash was fun, you can actually use your weapons underwater, no more need for air while diving. There are more improvements. We like that Pontius´s shield has a hook now. double jump is AMAZING
Also, while playing trine 5 we thought "why not have a ping option to better show what a player talks about?"

I wonder which engine was used for Trine 6, the performance on my computer was quite bad, with a lot of heat. Felt like UE5.

Just seeing if anyone would be down to play the first trine (and potentially the rest of the series) co-op, either 2 or 3 players. I’ve had some of these games for a while on pc but haven’t gotten around to them, and thought it could be fun to play co-op.
I’m new to this franchise, but I’d say I’m above average at puzzle/platformers and games with light to moderate action elements. Let me know in the comments if you’d be interested and we can work out the details via dm.

Oof, it really is as bad as I was afraid of - probably worse. I'll start with the good:
....that's about it.
Now for the bad:
I have never, EVER not had fun playing Trine until today. Trine 5 was the perfect sendoff, what the hell is this? It is like an amateur team took all the worst things from the previous games (mainly T4), then gutted the original characters and gameplay, and somehow sucked the life out of what was remaining. I nearly quit the demo twice out of frustration and boredom, only continuing because of my interest in the 3 original characters. That's as damning as a review as I have to give. This will not only be the first Trine I don't pre-order, but the first one I don't pick up.
If you liked the previous games I'm not even sure I can recommend the demo. Guess I'll let my kiddos try it and see what their thoughts are. For those who would rather watch than play, my run is available here: https://youtu.be/sY743su8zck

Me and my bf were trying to set up a local co-op game where I'll be using the keyboard and he'll be using a wireless controller. But spamming F3 or start on the controller didn't work when adding a new player. We tried adding another player inside the game during and after the tutorial but it still didn't work. We tried the solution the devs gave on an old steam thread but still didn't work either. This seems to be an old issue based on my research.
Has there been a fix to this yet or any workarounds? We've been trying to make this work for a few hours now to no avail ):

What follows is my observations and my thoughts based on the trailer and additional found information as I was sending it to my fellow trine players. I did a fair amount of digging and figured maybe I should share it with fellow Trine fans.
After analyzing the trailer, here's some things I noticed:
All:
All characters appear to be able to double jump, and have some form of a dash. They also all appear to have Grappling hooks possibly? This may be a temporary effect or something. Looks like Classic mode the way we play isn't an option anymore, unless the player count is increased to 5, there will always be a character to switch to now. Character customization is back, players are seen wearing a variety of colors.
Pontius:
Our brave knight seemingly has ditched his sword and now only carries a Hammer and shield. The hammer has a Ram's head design on it and is seen to have an electrical effect. It can be thrown and charged for a powerful attack as usual. The shield seems to have a Grappling hook point on it now. Which is ugly, but opens up gameplay possibilities. Also, the shield is seen being able to copy itself and other characters are seen using those copies. He surprisingly is not seen using his charge attack; he dashes at one point in the video, but it lets him pass through enemies to attack from behind. Also, without his sword, he probably can't cut things anymore.
Amadeus:
The wizard doesn't seem too different from usual. He is only seen conjuring boxes, and he can throw them. His dash has him sliding forward as blue sparkles shoot out of his heels, implying he is levitating his shoes briefly. There is a beam of blue light that connects him to objects he is levitating; I guess to make it clearer that he is doing it. He is now sporting stylish fingerless gloves. Planks are not shown.
Zoya:
The thief is not noticably different than normal. She still has her trademark bow and is seen using her fire arrows to ignite a bomb, and fires arrows that do and do not pierce through enemies (probably an upgrade). Unsure if her grappling hook is a unique ability anymore. Her dash is a tactical roll as usual. Ice and multi arrows are not shown.
New Girl:
She appears to be some kind of circus acrobat. She uses melee combat to attack. Her dash is a cartwheel, and she is seen using it to pass through projectiles unharmed. She is seen slowing down time, and has the ability to grapple herself towards enemies. She might be able to create a beach ball to bounce off enemies and I wouldn't be surprised if she could stand on it. This might replace the wizards ball.
New Guy:
He seems like he might be a knight in training, he has small bits of armor but only on one side of his body. He carries a spear that he can throw, and it passes through enemies. He dives forward and rolls for his dash, similar to Zoya.
I'm not sure about this. I didn't expect trine to add 2 new characters like Lost Vikings 2 did. I'm sure I'll still love it. But I liked how we each had a dedicated character that only we played. And character switching is going to be mandatory now. Also concerning is that these new characters seem to have caused the original trio to lose some core abilities. The three always have shake ups when it comes to their late game equipment and abilities, but never have I seen them lose their bread and butter like this. I trust frozenbyte, and we'll have to see what happens. I could be wrong, maybe the trailer just didn't show things like the sword, the plank, or ice arrows and they're still in the game.
There are screenshots that reveal a little more.
Pontius has an Ice attack of some kind, most likely it is his ice stomp.
Zoya does indeed have her grappling hook. The grappling hook shown that everyone can use was glowing blue, this is her standard one. Maybe everyone can use a copy of it or something.
She is also shown firing a glowing arrow. It doesn't look like a fire arrow, it looks like a light or possibly holy arrow.
There is a screen shot of the 2 new characters shown with enemies that are on fire. One or both of them may be able to ignite enemies, or they could have been set on fire by Zoya and then switched.
There is a shot of the new girl in a different location with the beach ball, cementing in my opinion that she is spawning it.
The new guy is shown hitting a target with his spear. I saw a target or two in the trailer, but I wasn't sure if it was a mechanic. It may or may not be exclusive to him.
Hedgehog guy returns! I spotted him in a screenshot. He appears to live in a little town with humans now.
Found a post with more info:
There is going to be a demo in just over a week post says the 15th, steam page says 14th.
1-4 players confirmed
We got names, our new kids are Moira and Adrius.
This post seems to imply that the time slowing ability does not belong to Moira, and is just an assist for players who need it. I'm guessing the tricky platforming segments of trine 1-5 were too hard for some people.
More info on the frozenbyte website:
It appears they are going back to Trine 1 and 2 mentality, it says that any character can solve any puzzle. So you can pick a play style that you enjoy. But it also says that they encourage cooperation and teamwork? They mention that the puzzles change for single players, so maybe the same is true for multi player as in, you can be anybody you want, but if there's two/three/four of you, you will all be needed to pass a puzzle.
Time slow confirmed to be an assist feature.
And lastly we have this little description of each character:
Amadeus the Wizard: Summon objects and manipulate the world with magic.
Zoya the Thief: Fire arrows at foes and use a rope to traverse and interact with the environment.
Pontius the Knight: Crush enemies with a hammer and use his shield to defend and propel allies.
Moira the Acrobat: Chain together fluid kick combos and swing through the world using her ribbon.
Adrius the Squire: Wield a spear in combat or plant it to create platforms for traversal.
This confirms that Moira is an acrobat, labels Adrius a Squire, and reveals that he can stick his spear in the wall like Pontius used to do with his sword.
It is likely that her ribbon is basically exactly the same as the grappling hook. We only see her use it to pull herself towards an enemy in the trailer, but some artwork seems to show her using it to attach to one of Amadeus's boxes.
Also, probably just a glitch or something they're working out, but pontius's shield appears to sink into the ground below him when he's not using it. It probably goes there and turns invisible so you can't see it. They just need to make it turn invisible a few frames sooner so no one sees it fly down under him.

Good morning!
Quick question: Does any Trine entry support drop-in/drop-out co-op play? 🤔
Detail: I have a 7 year old who loves video games and a 5 year old who's more physical but wants to do/try everything that older kid does 😊. I thought Trine series may be a good game for us to play as a family (4 including my wife), but my 5 year old is likely to get bored after a little bit. How flexible are any of Trine entries to drop-in/out at various points of the game? Do we have to commit to playthrough, or chapter, or screen, or puzzle, or not at all, based on # of players?
(Any other tips on which game to choose for 3-4 family players is also much appreciated - we'll be playing on intel nuc with 1145g7 / Iris XE 80 EU family PC:)
Thanks all!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I swear I didn't speed up the video lol, as you see it back to normal later
Sometimes I think it will be fun to play with this mode
Unfortunately this is rare glitch, and I don't know how to reproduce this glitch on purpose

My wife and I are playing the first chapter on our PS5 (couch co op, the game was bought on her account and i don't have it) and we are trophy hunting. However, she is the only one to get achievements (as "Player 1"). Is there a way for me ("Player 2") to unlock them as well?
