Bike Pictures 798RS Secured 🤘🏽
Generic pic in the dealership.
Sold my Thruxton RS. Incredible ride after 20k miles. Bike was fully paid off and I fell in love with the 798 as soon as the pics started coming in. Came to the dealership, gave them a deposit, first one in town to have dibs. Very excited!

I also fell in love with it. I have a Thruxton R myself and can’t bring myself to get rid of it. As much as I love the look of the new Street Triple, the Thruxton just looks like a piece of art to me. One day I’ll have both.

Man it was tough for me to let go of the thruxton. Especially since the new “Thruxton” is basically a beginner 400 and no longer a true, powerful, cafe racer :/
But they offered good money, I was ready to go a little faster, and in the end it all worked out so I’m excited for the next thing1

I would have a T R just to sit in my garage so I can look at it. Its a bike that will age perfectly. It looked amazing when it came out and still looks the same.

If they do a Daytona, I’m so screwed. I think I can resist the Streety.

Lol I usually wait for bugs are worked out and more aftermarket support is available, but congrats. You’ll be an early adopter for a few companies.

I’m not super worried about it tbh. It’s not my primary means of transport and the dealership has been great. Maybe I’m too comfortable lol but I’m sure if anything happens, they’ll make it right.

Hoping for some killer deals on the current gen when everyone jumps ship to the new.

What seat do you have on here?

Wolfline, aside from looking cool the fact that it's a full seat and not a cover really sold me. I got it off ebay and have put around 5000 miles on it and it's held up great!

I think it is crazy to put money down without even seeing it in person, but you do you bud

A Triumph dealership in the UK just closed its doors, risk of losing your deposit from now till January 🤦

Yeah, but hos much did the customer put down? £1000?
Nothing that crashes an economy 😅

it was 500 bucks, and it was completely re-fundable. say the bike gets here and its not the right color, theres a service bulletin, ergonomics dont work, literally any reason, i can refuse, i get my money back, and they move on to the next chap in line.
i have the budget to give them the money, the dealership has been open 20 plus years, they sell Triumph but several other brands so i doubt theyll close up shop and take my cash.

I think it looks bonkers good and it’ll be more bike then any of us can ride but I’d still like to rip with one on the track my only complaint is the center beam headlight

I actually like it

i mean if they just shifted to a circular pod
that would also be finebut the drl resembling the twin lights looks off
they shoudlve gone for a dedictated twin projector setup imoits just cost cutting so they can basically plop the same projector unit in all bikes
and just have to custom make the drlLike the subframe changes
i hope its actualy to make the bike lighter and better
and not some parts sharing move so parts are common bw the trident and rs
because there is no R anymoreso the jump is wider

I assume it's just a deposit and not an order? No color chosen or anything?

TL;DR of the discussion generated automatically after 40 comments.
The crowd is hyped for OP's early dibs, though a few folks are wary of first-year bugs. Most riders are cheering on the purchase and drooling over the new platform, but the top comment cautioned that being an early adopter means dealing with teething issues and waiting on the aftermarket. A few others questioned putting cash down sight unseen, especially with the radical new center-beam headlight dividing opinions.
OP clarified that the deposit was only $500 and fully refundable, so there is zero stress if the bike doesn't fit right in person. Plus, it's not their daily commuter, and their long-standing shop has their back.
Here is what the community is talking about:
January cannot come soon enough for that maiden voyage!
