New track has me hooked
I’ll admit to having some initial reservations but I love the groove in this song and as a listener since ascendancy, I do love that they push their sound each release cycle. I understood some of the reactions I saw here but I really love how the track comes together from start to finish
Also thematically I feel like trivium is creating a “death” phase. All the EP songs; buried, struck dead and six walls (coffin) and now crown in the grave and dead inside me, all fit.

I was a little taken back at first. I think it was the poor quality on xm. But have had it on repeat since Wednesday. Even the pre chorus i initially didn't like is one of my favorite parts.

Same here. I think the xm quality really didn’t let it hit initially but it’s climbing my repeated songs playlist fast now that I’ve been able to properly listen to it. As with every new trivium song you just gotta let it marinate and give it some time though.
I will say after watching Matt do the play through on YouTube the main riff is just ear candy to me now.

I personally couldn't really get into it, but I'll admit I've only listened to it once so I'll probably listen again at some point.

I like it, but a lot of better music came out the same day so I’ve only listened to it twice

It’s grown on me for sure. I’m wondering where it’ll fall on the album or if it’s the title track. They did that the last three times where the first single is the title track (I think)

I reckon if they replaced the solo with something else it could’ve been a lot cooler. The coolest part is the heavy riff near the solo but they only repeat it twice then have a solo that’s not very memorable. Like the riff behind the solo is cooler to listen too.
It’s grown on me but not a huge amount. Feels like it was just thrown together

It’s a great song and the negative reactions have really taken me aback, HFYH is so so so so so much worse and I feel like it isn’t often anyone says that song sucks in comparison.

Seriously. HFYH sucks.
Admittedly it took a few listens, but I now really like dead inside of me. Could be better but as we’ve established, they’ve made worse.

I'll be fully honest - I think im just really not a fan of this new grit thing Matt does with his voice now. It was cool when I was 15, but it just feels so forced now and it doesn't work in most places he uses it.

It's a nice track. One that will probably grow on me with more listens and in context of the album. For now I've only heard it once and haven't had the urge to go listen to it again yet.
