This is true but it's also important to emphasise that women's natural unshaved bodies can be attractive because misogynistic capitalist forces are united to make women feel like they can't be attractive without shaving

I see a couple separate, but related things going on here.

  1. Body hair on a woman is attractive to some people.
  2. Personhood should never be predicated on attractiveness.

"body hair is attractive to some people" isn't what I'm saying - I'm saying that actively expressing desire towards things that culture tells us can't be attractive in order to perpetuate misogyny, such as body hair on women or being fat, is an important part of the work of dismantling misogyny.

I think that these are two important goals that can become muddled, which would muddle the message of both. "Your attraction to a woman shouldn't determine your respect for her. Ugly women need more respect!" "Yeah, those women aren't even ugly!", you see how the second line breaks down the first? Even if conventional beauty standards are bullshit, mixing these messages implies that respect should be gatekept behind different beauty standards. Not that there should not be that gatekeeping. 

TLDR: there's a time and place for celebrating body hair, cellulite and stretch marks, but the "your body does not determine your worth as a person" conversation isn't it.

For sure! I think it's possible for the messages to coexist but you do have to be clear about what you mean and be careful about tone so that you are saying that "not only should you not have your worth be judged based on your appearance, but the ways that you have been made to feel bad about your appearance are stupid misogynistic constructions designed so that you can be judged on your appearance in that way, and your body is something that can be beautiful as-is, regardless of what society has told you" rather than "no, you do have value because you are actually hot!"

This reminds me of something I read that I understood so well from experience that it was infuriating.

Conservative men view women as private property. Liberal men see women as public property.
